Stayed at Prinzhotel a week before Christmas and loved the location, just inside the old walled city of Rothenburg ob der Tauber. Hotel was comfortable and great value for the price. We arrived early, and they tucked our luggage away for us. Had suggestions for things to do and places to eat. Told us where to park and got us a discount for the parking. Room wasn't luxurious but very comfortable; large private bath. Anything inside the walled city is going to be convenient; this was just next to the wall but, because it wasn't in the center of town, was quiet. We opted not to include breakfast and each morning, walked about 2-3 blocks to a coffee shop. Would stay here again anytime. Only negatives - parking not included and extra charge for internet access.
Very nice hotel with comfortable rooms. Very clean bathroom. The hotel looks ancient but it is very modern inside. Centrally located, a walking distance from downtown, historic places, shops, and restaurants. Excellent breakfast. Very friendly staff. We had a very nice view of the wall surrounding the city from our window. Wouldn't mind staying here again.
Stayed one night at this charming 4-star hotel located just inside the wall. Everything is good but this hotel do not provide small water kettle for boiling hot water. Room is clean. We had a standard room. Each room was gifted with a chocolate Santa! What a nice sweet gift! Wi-fi is also not free. Rothenburg is a very charming small town and we had a great time walking around the Christmas market!
We got a spacious room with spa under the roof because all other rooms were occupied. The room was clean, bathroom, too, newly renovated with extra sofa, 2 armchairs and a table. Excellent overview to the medieval town of Rothenburg. It is situated in old town just behind the historic town wall only 3 minutes off the town square. Negative was that we hat to wait more then 10 minutes until the concierge came. The restaurant Topinambur belongs to the hotel and is an insider's tip for excellence. It offers an extensive breakfast buffet. We recommend to book a dinner; the menu arranges for every sense of taste.
I spent two nights in the hotel for a business trip and overall it has been a positive experience. The only reason not to have more stars is the fact that intefnet connection was availble only on payment. The location is good also for a turistic visit, within the wall of the old town. Rooms are renovated and confortable, breakfast was also of a good standard.
I enjoyed spending a night at this charming hotel within the city wall. The beds were comfortable in descent sized, clean rooms. Very quiet although it was a little warm but were able to open the windows which helped for sleeping. The breakfast was good and the staff friendly. The location was a short walk from the city center. Would definitely stay here again.
Hi We were a couple travelling with our 9 month old son. We had a pleasant experience right from the moment we stepped into the hotel. The hotel was very professionally managed. The hotel interiors were calming and aesthetically done. The hotel staff was extremely cordial ( right from checkin to everyone in the resturant staff ) and very helpful with regards to baby needs (in whatever way they could assist). Our room had a huge bathroom . The room was comfortable and had everything we needed(good size wardrobe clothes stand fridge baby bed ). The food in the restaurant was exceptionally good . The breakfast spread was extensive and fresh (lots of different cheeses cold cuts fresh fruits and homemade deserts ). The dinner at the restaurant is also fantastic ( not the regular run of the mill restaurant you otherwise find in the main market platz) . Thank you for the wonderful stay .
Before we get to the fantast city and the great hotel may we start with the staff. From arrival to departure the staff at the hotel were absolutely the finest we have ever met. The girls on the reception the bar staff the waitresses on the restaurant all were fantastic. Rothenburg should be on everyone's bucket list the city is stunning a living picture postcard there aren't the words available to properly describe other than you must try and visit. The Prinzhotel is sited next to the city wall and due to local by laws does not now have free parking. It does cost €13.00 to park from 9am to 6pm at the hotel door. The hotel do however provide discounted parking less than 200 away. The rooms are quaint and well appointed and spotless. The restaurant in the hotel must also be on your list. The food was remarkable the chef produced some dishes that would not be out of place in a Michelin restaurant. We had the stroganoff. The steak and the veal over a couple of nights and each was superb. All in all this is the place to stay in this wonderful city. Thankyou Prinzhotel
Arrived in Rothenburg without a hotel for our 1 night stay and this was the Prinzhotel attracted our attention and we had a great stay. Room was very spacious and clean. No air conditioning but this is not unusual in smaller hotels in Germany but we requested a fan and had a very comfortable sleep. We arrived after the charged parking had ended for the day so we just put money in the meter for the next morning which was only €3/4. We got parked right outside too. The only negative was the chargeable wifi. It is the first time in many years that I've stayed in a hotel in which you have to pay for wifi. We didn't take it as we had good 4G reception.
First, a warning for Summer US visitors. Prinzhotel does not have air conditioning, but the rooms have wonderfully large windows that open up. If it is warm in Rothenberg, like it was for us, open up those windows and enjoy the view of the city walls! The rooms are nicely appointed, spacious, and have great bathrooms. The location is just inside one of the entry towers. While you cannot park overnight at the hotel, there is public parking within walking distance, and you can park short-term at the hotel to drop off your bags. Breakfast is not included. It is 12.50 euros, and the choices are plentiful. You can get a never-ending cappuccino if you want! The restaurant is convenient but pricey. For less money, there are better places to eat just down the street. However, if you don't feel like walking, you can find wonderfully fresh food at the restaurant. Enjoy!
