We stayed for two nights en route to Menorca. Our dog was welcome and our room was stunning. Natural stone walls , spa bath and really comfortable. Breakfast was a delight! The choice was amazing and there was a hot element to it as well - bacon and scrambled eggs. We had an evening meal on one of our nights and it was delicious. The staff were friendly and the environment was fantastic if you like rustic, which we do. There is an outdoor pool and sun beds and an indoor spa pool which I have to admit was disappointing. Mas Palou is easy driving distance to Roses and I’d love to go back sometime. Just lovely.
Staff not friendly. Room in my opinion was not maintained well. I would not go back at any price. The surrounding towns are very nice and I wish I did a little more homework. Definately the least positive hotel we stayed at during our trip.
While the old building has its charms and the people running it are very nice and friendly, the hotel is only average due to a dated room interior and a bathroom that needs to be updated. The included breakfast was barely ok. WiFi was horrible in the room.
We visited last week What a fabulous property beautifully set beautiful rooms fantastic facilities One of the nicest tranquil places I've visited Fabulous staff Nothing was too much trouble Can't wait to return
Rustic charm. Lovely old buildings tastefully modernised. Huge bedrooms. Friendly helpful staff. Food at the wedding we attended was excellent. Lovely location for visiting this wonderful part of the Costa Brava. Nice garden and pool. Transport essential.
The rooms were really big and comfortable, but the décor is starting to look dated and tired. We didn't mind, this but the having the toilet in the bedroom without being enclosed would not be to everyone's taste (hardly romantic). We appreciated the spa bath in the room, but the water coming out of the taps appears to be chlorinated. The room was also a bit on the dark side. Other positives, were the huge comfortable bed, the tasty breakfast and the outdoor pool. Although the hotel is convenient for accessing Roses, we had great difficulty locating it initially. This is because out sat nav took us to the town end of the road, but the road carries on for miles over two roundabouts into the surrounding hills. Watch out for this. Wi fi - not accessible in the bedrooms, but can be accessed in the public areas.
This very charming hotel is set in a beautiful location surrounded by mountains and lovely nature. It´s absolutely stunning and beautiful and the old rustic hotels is very charming. The rooms are very spacious, and the bathroom is lovely as well. The walls are however EXTREMELY THIN, so to get a good night rest you will most definitely need earplugs! The breakfast is decent and most of the hotel staff are friendly. Due to poor english don´t expect much help from them. We had some minor faults in our room (two broken lamps, AC broken) that they promised to fix.. However, nothing ever got fixed probably because they didnt understand us and probably didnt want to say so either. No wifi in the room either.
We stayed for 2 nights in Mid August. The hotel is located in a semi rural location about 2 miles from the resort of Roses with ample parking. Apparently the hotel building is about 500 years old and is really full of character. Our room was large and well equipped including a huge Spa Bath. The outside pool was situated in a grassy area, however a few more sunbeds were required at peak times. The breakfast provided was of the basic continental variety and was only available from 9 o'clock in the morning - so no good if you have an early flight. The hotel doesn't appear to have a 24 hour reception. All in all a good choice if you want a character hotel and don't mind a few rough edges.
The hotel is in a very quiet and beautiful area, just outside of the town. I would recommend this if you want to stay away from the crowds and closer to the countryside. The surrounding area is beautiful. The room was spacious and rustic, but I didn't really like the blanket covering the bed. Breakfast was also nice, with lots of local cheeses, hams & salamis to choose from.
This is a very interesting hotel. For nature / dog lovers it is a must as it is set in wonderful natural scenery, Thyme, lavender , sage and rock roses sprout up all around you. Good for walkers as there are footpaths up into the mountains around the back of the hotel. Good for beach/ pleasure seekers as Roses is just down the road. Great for wine and food lovers as there is a great restaurant attached and a vineyard next door. The hotel is a restored farm house, well done ,saving some nice original details. The rooms are large, airy and modern. This could be a great hotel is the following simple adjustments were made: 1. install towel rails in bathrooms. They are unheated and thus towels remain wet. 2. unlock the windows. Some people prefer open windows to air con. 3. complete hard landscaping from car park to front door. The changes in levels can be a hazard for all. 4. Is there a fire escape? Otherwise it was great, don't forget the breakfast, great value for money.
