Comfortable, good air conditioning (eventually moved to a room that it worked in), breakfast fine. No evening meal facilities but places nearby. Staff helpful. Not much else to say but TripAdvisor needs 200 characters minimum.

This was my fourth visit to Rome in 3 years and the River Chateau Hotel was by far the best stay ever! Situated in the Lazio area near to the Olympic Stadium yet less than 3 miles to the Vatican and the start of central Rome, the area of the hotel is real and trendy. We were a party of 4 people and we all agreed, that the we could not have picked anywhere better for our two night stay in this beautiful city. The from the warm welcome at reception, to the bar and serving staff, nothing was too much problem. The room was very comfortable and only wish we could have bought the bed back with us! Breakfast was plentiful and fresh, with constant replenishing of foods when running low. This really was home from home or da casa a casa!!! Oh and the added bonus was we had the Italian football side Sassuolo staying as they were playing Lazio at the Olympic Stadium. 10 out of 10 for this hotel!!!

We stayed 2 nights in this little gem, 2 adults and 2 kids. On arrival we were upgraded free of charge to a bigger room as our travel agent had only booked one room with one double bed for a family of 4. Staff were very helpful, friendly and they ensured that our needs were met. We had forgotten our phone chargers and reception gave us some to use for the duration of our stay. Breakfast was great with plenty to choose from. I will definitely stay here again. Thanks to everyone at River Chateau for making our stay brilliant.

Lovely Hotel, Lovely helpful staff, nice quiet area, good breakfast to choose from, plenty of Various Restaurants within Meters of hotel or couple of Minutes stroll, 10 minute stroll to River Tiber and transport, Bus or Tram (15 Mins) in to Rome City for 3 Euros a day!! Vatican City and Colloseum 'Skip the Line tours' waste of Money, as You Don't skip the line,We still had to queue for over a Hour to get in to Vatican then it was like a old style football match, pushing a jostling your way round and Not recommended for people that cannot climb stairs as there are quite a few to climb, 2 and Half hours to get into Colloseum, so we didn't bother, most disappointing part of our stay.IT RAINED TOO!!!!

Great hotel - once in it! Myself and two colleagues were booked in the hotel but on arrival 2 of us were bumped to a close hotel but to an inferior one due to a booking system glitch. We suspect that as we had booed through a third party website and a cost effective price point we we pushed away for a higher paying guest. Good hotel but even when booking weeks in advance your night at this hotel not guaranteed.

I was due to stay at the hotel in August for Lazio’s first game of the season but had a motorcycle accident the weekend before which meant I couldn’t travel. My booking was non-refundable however when I contacted the hotel and told them what had happened Barbara was very understanding and provided a full refund. I really appreciated them being so understanding.

When I booked the hotel, I really didn't know what to expect as it looked a little dated and far out from the city but I can honestly say it's one of the best hotels I have stayed in. The service from every staff member was excellent and the hotel is gorgeous! The little touches make all the difference. A famous Italian football club also stayed at the hotel during our time there and this didn't distract the staff as I thought it may have, they paid us just as much attention. Highly recommend!

Great gem in the area . Rooms are very nice . The staff is great . You have a lot different kind of restaurants walking distance . The hotel is used by professional soccer teams every week as it’s close to the stadium . You never know who you might bump in . If you are planning to stay in the area it’s a good choice . It’s a 10 minute cab to the center so it’s a way to save on the high prices Enjoy

Since I am a Roman myself, I rarely stay at hotels in Rome. I no longer have a home there so I stay with friends. This time, however, I decided to go to a hotel and chose the River Chateau because of location. It is a few minutes away from the Ponte Milvio and very well served by public transportation. From the moment I walked in I was impressed. Staff were amazingly friendly and I was given a superb room. Very comfortable bed, lovely bathroom with all the fittings and quiet (which means great acoustic insulation because Rome is all but quiet, at any time of the day or night). Not only this, it is also very nicely priced. So I was totally wowed. I was i8n Rome for business, but I will definitely return with my wife and stay at this hotel. My friends won't have to put up with me and I am sure I can make friends with the hotel!

Check-in was very efficient and staff were constantly polite and helpful. Breakfast waitors were on the ball and very polite too. The breakfast had a decent variety and dining was very nice. The room was well air-conditioned, beds comfortable and a perfect sized bathroom. There were also wardrobes, so perfect for a longer stay. Located a bit far from the centre of Rome but it is simple enough to catch a bus relatively nearby and the hotel is situated next to ponte milvio which has a very fair amount of restaurants and cafes. I would certainly recommend this hotel and plan to return!
