Piazzetta Margutta - My Extra Home0.0 out of 5.0

My wife and I spent a couple weeks at Piazzetta. Located at the beginning of Via Margutta (of legendary fame from the song "Arrivederci Roma"), it is within walking distance of many of Rome's popular sites, as well as close to the public transportation hub of Piazzale Flaminio. Our unit was quiet and spacious, with plenty of storage cabinets in the bedroom and living room. No kitchen pantry, though, and no towel racks or other useful hooks in the bathroom. There is a TV set in the living room, and another in the bedroom, but we never turned them on, preferring to devote every minute to viewin Roime. The staff was helpful and generally available onsite even after hours. When visiting Rome, we usually stay at another similar outfit in Via Ripetta, a few blocks away, but if they are booked, we gladly turn to Piazzetta, if available. Advice: to book, contact Piazzetta directly, and you're likely to get a much better price than going through online intermediaries such as Booking and Expedia.
Great location, very comfortable and spacious apartment. Freshly maintenanced and renovated. A bit more expensive, than the others, but really good quality for the adequate value. Nice and quite place, right in a few steps from Poppola.
Location Its on one end of via Margutta above a courtyard that has a nice restaurant. The courtyard also has a couple of boutiques and the office of MyExtra Home. Staff is available from around 9 to 5. Margutta has many art galleries and small boutiques. The parallel street has stores of the much larger brands. A 24x7 Carrefour express grocery store is a 5 min. walk away. Apartment Complex has a lift and our apartment was on 2nd Floor. There is a small patio (with chairs and a table) which has its own locked grill for added safety. The living hall was large with 1 double and 1 single sofa beds. Sofa beds were of good quality. There is a bluetooth speaker + dock for music and a flat screen tv. Kitchen was fully equipped - large fridge, stove with hood, toaster, coffee maker, dish washer, sink and lots pans, plates, glasses and spoons. There was a small room with a washing machine + dryer, iron and a well stocked first aid box. The bedroom has closet space. The bathroom was the only slight letdown. The tub is tiny and its difficult to take a shower in it especially since the drain was small / choked so the water would tend to fill very fast even when you didnt want it to. But they do give you toiletries, toilet paper etc. Staff is very helpful and are available at the ground floor office for soap, toilet paper, tour bookings, to call a taxi etc. Professionally run apartment complex in a great location having everything that one needs.
Great location near Piazza del Popolo and walking distance (30 mins max) for all major attractions. We had a 2BR / 2 bathroom apartment which was perfect for the family of 4. Bathroom had washing machine which was handy after 3 weeks away. The unit itself was spacious, well presented and clean and reasonable value given hotel room prices in Rome.
Perfect location to get to all the sites. The apartment had everything we needed even a terrace that we could hang out at after a long day of site seeing. I highly recommend this property. It made our vacation.
We enjoyed a lovely 5 day stay in a two bedroom, two bathroom, terraced, self contained apartment. Great location down cobbled streets and close to supermarket for all your supplies. Lovely to return to apartment after a tiring day of sightseeing and cook your own pasta to eat on the terrace with a glass of wine. Perfect!
Because of an injury, we weren't able to stay our desired time, but that didn't diminish our appreciation for the property. Whether a first time visitor to Rome or returning again, the Piazetta Margutta apartments are a wonderful home away. The location is ideal for tourism and transportation--a short walk from either the Spanish Steps or the Piazza del Popolo. There are two metro stops nearby and buses are available outside the Popolo area. Restaurants and grocery stores (Coop & a Carrefour Express) are a short walk. The elevator building apartments are organized around a courtyard. Access is controlled by decorative gates and a doorman. Our 1 bedroom apartment surpassed our expectations in terms of space. There was a large living room/dining area. A U-shaped kitchen with a large refrigerator and dishwasher. There was 1 spacious bathroom and separate powder room with a washing machine. The bedroom was also very comfortable with lots of storage. Large windows, providing lots of light, highlighted the décor in the apartment which was also light, clean, and contemporary. Website pictures are very accurate! One could stay here for a long time. Because this place is not a hotel per se but managed apartments, no one is on duty after business hours, though someone can be contacted (and there is a charge). Having been to Rome many times, we thought this was a perfect location and hope to return again. The staff (Oliver, Luigi, and Mia) were a tremendous help during our emergency. We can’t thank them enough.
My husband, sister and niece just returned from a 6 night stay at the Pizzetta Margutta apartments. The location couldn't be better - 5 minute walk to the metro and close to almost all major attractions. The apartment was large and comfortable. It is more of a "self-service" property than I expected - no paper towels, toilet paper etc....but there is a market close by. If I rented again I would order extra linens and towels. Also, we had a ground floor apartment, one bedroom on the courtyard of the building and the other bedroom on an alley behind the Hotel Russie (which was used by hotel staff for cigarette breaks and chat), and as a result the flat was a bit noisier than hoped for. If I went again I would get an apartment on a higher floor. The staff was there when advertised and helpful, emails quickly responded to if staff on in the office. They arranged airport transfers for us and they were on time and reliable. Apartments the way to go with a family group, for $320 a night we had two bedrooms and lots of extra room - we would have had to pay many times more than that in a hotel - breakfast in saves money and travel wear and tear. Recommended.
We stayed at Piazzetta Margutta for 4 nights. It was perfect for our family of 4. It gave us more than enough space to allow for some down time for the kids after a busy day of sight-seeing. The amenities were convenient, including the kitchenette and washer/dryer. One of the best features was the beautiful, large, private terrace, where we enjoyed breakfast in the morning and a glass of wine in the evening. The rooms were very clean upon arrival. The location cannot be beat! Perfect walking distance to attractions and upscale shopping.
Excellent facility for a us, a grandmother and grandson traveling together. A well appointed apartment in a luxury building in a luxury neighborhood at a fraction of the price of the luxury hotel right across the alley! We would have given it five stars were it not for these problems: kitchen lacked basic essentials (napkins, paper towels, salt and pepper); wifi was out of service for three days out of eight; no hot water one morning. On the other hand, the dishwasher, washing machine and coffee maker worked well. The bathroom is much larger than in most Italian hotels. Both the sofa bed (in the living room) and the regular bed were very comfortable---and there was lots of closet space. Staff was very helpful and owner offered a partial refund. The location is terrific, a half block from the Piazza del Popolo and the entrance to the Borghese Gardens: good shopping at all price ranges nearby and easy access to the Metro and to taxis.
