Disappointing
Communication with the host was challenging, as he messaged us in Italian despite knowing we didn’t speak the language. We tried using a translator app, but it was difficult to understand instructions. He expected to meet us in front of the apartment, which was hard to locate using the directions provided—they led us to a narrow, one-way alley.The host saw us but continued to give directions only in Italian. We were unsure where to park and were eventually directed to a paid lot that was not close to the apartment. After parking, we had to follow him through a parking garage and back down the alley to reach the entrance. The apartment is accessed via two steep, uneven flights of concrete steps, which felt unsafe—especially with luggage.Once inside, the host gave very basic instructions in Italian before leaving. It was quite difficult to navigate back to the car and bring all of our belongings to the apartment.The apartment itself is nicely decorated, but the air conditioning is only in the kitchen—not in the bedroom or bathroom. We also found the wine glasses to be dirty upon arrival. The garden is charming, though the lake view is partially obstructed by a chain-link fence. Noise from the apartment above (footsteps and water running) was constant and disruptive.Unfortunately, due to these issues, we would not choose to stay here again.
