Perfect location for walking around Rome. Conditions were excellent, the atmosphere was quite positive. I really suggest this hotel to travellers, I hope you will also enjoy your stay at this nice hotel)
The first look was a lil disappointing, an old 19th century lift that took us up. An old building .We were greeted well by Beneditto(Benny) as i call him and well explained about the do's and don't' .Location is fantastic, close to the Roma termini . We weren't disturbed at all during the stay , the only disappointment was that the room was damp with very little light so toilets don't dry up fast. Mr Richard who stays till night was an extremely jolly and smiling person who helped us immensely by making hot water for us as the plug points were completely different from the ones we use in India .Benny can be a little cold at times which some might find a bit rude considering that he is in the hospitality business. So 3 out of 5 .One point subtracted for the dampness and the other for the cold shoulder and horrible wifi. Other than that it was a great stay and also to mention , the breakfast was at nearby L' Angolo Del Caffe which was a wonderful place which serves fantastic croissants and coffee for breakfast.. 👍🏻
Really lovely place in the center of Rome. Very gentle and patient stuff. Clean rooms and comfortable beds. I really recommend everyone to stay in this hotel, if you are coming to visit the city for a few days!!
First off this was a very reasonable (if not cheap) place to stay on a pricing level, and I am aware of the saying you get what you pay for. The saying stands true with this hotel. When we arrived we were greeted and welcome by a lovely man (guessing the owner) and he was very helpful and welcoming. He give us information on Rome and helped us with everything to do with the hotel. The rooms were very basic, with very little space. The rooms were kept clean during our stay and we were never disturbed. The beds were not very comfortable and looked liked reused hospital beds. This is a very budget hotel but would recommend if that is what your after.
Didn't expect much from this hotel based on the price but it was much worse than we expected it to be. 'Reception' is on the top floor of the 5 floor hotel' and consists of a couple of dining tables- not much else. When we arrived we had to pay €3.50 per person per day city tax. Rooms are in apartments of around 3-4 rooms each with a desk and a member of staff in the middle of each. Room was way below average- - curtains were broken and hanging off the rails so couldn't be closed - window itself was broken so couldn't be closed properly which left a cold breeze in the evenings - 'double' room is too single beds pushed together that keep sliding apart - sink was cracked with a hole in it - mould all over the bath room- on the ceilings, around the shower base, on the doors - toilet seat was hanging off - when the shower was turned on, the coving around the handle fell off - water spurted out of the hose when the shower was turned on meaning water went everywhere - water didn't drain from the shower meaning you kept having to turn the shower off to avoid flooding the bathroom - 'bed and breakfast' included breakfast at a cafe down the road where you were offered a tea/coffee and ONE pastry - towels were changed every 2 days - sheets weren't changed for the entirety of our stay - one bedside lamp didn't work, the other was smashed with the shade hanging off - light on the ceiling was hanging off - nothing hanging strait- mirrors and paintings - walls were dirty and paint cracked - absolutely nothing in the way of a sign outside the hotel to indicate where it is
The place was very clean, the staff was delightful and the housekeepers did their job well. The furniture is not the trendiest or the newest but it's average and clean. For the price that we've paid it was a good experience, except one thing: wifi connection. It's just terrible, or maybe it was only on that part of the building, 5th floor. Great thing that we were 7 - 10 minutes away from the Underground station, which I recommend, in case you want to go to Colloseo or other main places in Rome.
Overall the experience is below basic but based on what we paid I didn't expect much but it also exceeded this! 1. Never changed towels/bedding in 3 days 2. Shut the bathroom door as it has a strong smell of urine. 3. The lift is out of this world. 4. Breakfast- when paid for is a coffee and 1 pastry - what a joke and it's down street!. When we arrived and checked in the chap that checked us in wanted money after money, city tax, taxi return fair, we said NO because he tried to charge us 60 euros back to the airport and the taxis state by the government 30 euros and then tried to say we were lying. Enough said, all I can say is really consider booking here, it is truly like faulty towers and guest house I think the translation needs adjusting b cause it has never seen a guest house. It is one of the worst places I have ever stopped in, in the world. Stay Away
We stayed three nights, the conditions were ok. If You want something cheap and you aren't pretentious at all, it's a good choice. The hotel was clean, the staff was very nice and even gave us tips how to organise our trip and a map of Rome. We only stayed overnight, during the day we were always on the run. The location was ok, near the Termini station and Porta Pia.
They say that the photo never lies, but the photos of the hotel on their website lie, and much more that you would know. We booked it due to its location and the photos of the place make it look okay, however, when we arrived, the toilet was flushing itself, and continued through the day. I reported it and they staff member who pressed its flush and it stopped, then started again, assuring me it would be okay. It was not and continued to do so for over 24 hours. The bathroom was dirty, the sink cracked and had a hole in it, the shower cubicle was full of grime and the doors were not connected and kept falling off. I told the staff, and they told me it would be sorted, however, it was never sorted and was still a filthy hell hole throughout our stay. The floor throughout the room was also dirty. The double bed was broken and a part of it shoved behind another single bed. Although it stated double, it was two single mattresses shoved together. This would not have been too bad if they had been the same height, but alas, as with everything in this guesthouse, it was cobbled together. The drapes/curtains were hanging off the rails and could not be closed. Paintwork and wallpaper was scuffed and again dirty in places. They state in their paperwork that the rooms are cleaned daily and the towels are changed every two days, however, this was not the case and we had to request new towels. Breakfast is not served in the guesthouse, there is a little card that tells you that you have to go to another place to eat. This was not helpful as it gave an address and we had no idea where it was. No coffee or tea facilities are in the room. I requested a new room that was not filthy, had full facilities, working shower cubicle, drapes that closed and a bed that was a real bed. However, the staff member at this point did not seem to understand what I was requesting, even though his English was extremely good. This spoke volumes and told me of the attitude of the place. Due to the condition of the place, we only returned very late in the evening to sleep, shower (flooding the bathroom due to the doors) dress and out early. It did not spoil our trip to Rome as there was so much to see and do, but it did not complete the trip either. This place really was astoundingly bad. The tour operator that we used followed up our complaints and refunded us our money as they too said it was not to even a minimum standard that they would have expected and have removed the guesthouse from their listings.
I book a holiday at this hotel in september with my friends with free cancelation till beginning of Seprtember. Hotel change our reservation in nonrefoudable saying we have many rooms reserved in a booking system and we are group. The rates offered by the hotel were higher then in booking system. By booking system we have had assistance from the agency. VERY DISAPPOINTING !!!
