We had a wonderful time staying here. The staff couldn't do enough for you and speaking some Italian goes a long way. Breakfast was particularly good with fresh croissants baked every morning. We ended up leaving with new friends and a promise to return soon, which we definitely will.
I booked this hotel as an alternative to busy Civitavecchia, based partly on reviews. The hotel is situated in a quiet square, a moderate walk from the train station. A traditional styled italian hotel, clean and tidy with excellent staff who went out of their way to be accommodating. So why a lower rating? Quality of sleep and bed I'm afraid. We were prepared for the more robust european mattresses, but the non-existent pillow support and frankly, rock hard bed reduced my partner to a physical wreck, which had a lasting effect for the following two weeks during our cruise. I should also point out that the ceramic floor tiling, coupled with insubstantial room doors (always a bugaboo of mine) meant horrendous noise bleed from public areas and stairs throughout the night. Views from our small balcony were magnificent, across a small garden to the wide open expanse of ocean. Had we enjoyed a better night's sleep this would have been a five all the way.
This is a good choice for a short stay in Santa Marinella if you don't expect more than a clean bed and a plain breakfast. The shower cabin is really tiny and does hardly provide space for movement if you are a normal sized adult. The sound-proofing between the rooms are non-existent. The view from the room and the bathroom is however, very beautiful and the service is good.
This is a very nice hotel, in the center of Santa Marinella. We had a big room with a fantastic view. The people who runs this place is smiling and helpful. Good breakfast. I will stay here next time!
This is very nice place in Santa Marinella. Only one night but the room was perfect and the staff was good as always. I like it here an I will come back,, Thanks to Toniono and Francesco! (For b-and-b use bbreidenziasola.com)
We had a lovely stay in this simple hotel right on the coast. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The simple room was clean and comfortable. My wife and I were travelling with our 2 children and needed an additional bed for our 4yr old which we had not booked in advance. The staff on duty promptly helped us to get a fold out cot at no additional cost. The area around the hotel had many restaurants to choose from and we were lucky to experience a local street party/festival on the night we stayed. We had a great last night in Italy at Hotel L'Isola on our way back to Rome to fly home.
Unfortunately, we only stayed here one night but we loved it so much that we'll be back. The rooms are not modern but they are very comfortable and we had a lovely sea view. The piazza outside the hotel comes to life at night and there are many places to eat and drink nearby. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was great.
We liked the look of Santa Marinella when we stopped there on our Italian road trip and decided to stay for a few days. Luckily we found the L'isola hotel. We were offered rooms with the most beautiful, uninterrupted sea views. The hotel is fairly basic but the rooms are large and comfortable with good en suite bathrooms - all extremely clean. But the main attraction of the L'isola is the delightful family and their staff who run the hotel. Nothing was too much trouble for them. They made us feel very much at home without being intrusive. We ended up staying a week! And the little restaurant, La Piazzetta, a few doors away, became our main port of call for dinner.
Stayed here for the 4th time, this being the first time in the summer months. The hotel as ever was brilliant. Francesco makes you so welcome. The piazza where the hotel is situated was closed off each evening for entertainment and eating. This created a lovely, festival type atmosphere. Would love to return every year !!
Perfect small hotel, rooms are large and comfortable; we chose sea view rooms with a balcony. Breakfast is nicely done, continental style with fresh coffee made to order. Delightful! After a long flight, Hotel L'isola was the antidote to jet lag; short walk into town for food, shopping, or just a walkabout. Not only would I recommend this hotel, I'd certainly stay there again!
