Nestled on a working farm, you'll find a preserved 18th-century thatched cottage and outbuildings, giving you a true sense of rural Irish life. Our farm is ideally located halfway between Swords and Ashbourne, making it the perfect spot to explore Ireland’s Ancient East, with easy access to the hustle and bustle of Dublin City, as well as the nearby coastal towns and beaches.
As we are in the countryside, public transport is available but somewhat limited. Our village is serviced by the 41B Dublin Bus and the 197 TFI Bus. The bus stops are very short walks from our AirBnB.
Just a short stroll from our home, you’ll find the beautiful St. Brigid’s Church, constructed in the 1850s — a charming piece of local history.
For those looking to experience traditional Irish culture, you’re in luck! There are several traditional Irish pubs nearby where you can enjoy a real pint of Irish Guinness.
Nearby, Kettle’s Country House offers a cozy pub and restaurant (though not located in the village centre) that serves an excellent Sunday Roast. As this our local, If you’d like to visit, we’d be happy to drop you there and collect you at no extra charge. If you want to venture further afield, we can arrange transport at an additional cost.
For cultural enthusiasts, the TSEAC Arts Centre hosts traditional Irish music and performances. It's somewhat of a hidden gem in the locality, and has a wonderful cafe. Also, visit the nearby church to admire the stunning stained-glass windows created by world-renowned Irish artist Harry Clarke. A peaceful country walk along the church road will let you soak in the beauty of the area.
There are frequent concerts and gigs held at Swords and Malahide Castles. Let us know if you're interested, and we’ll gladly drop you off and collect you after the event.
Our farm is also located next to the picturesque old stone-cut bridge that crosses the Broadmeadow River, where you can often spot families of ducks and swans swimming by.
