Beautiful Trotteurs

We had a lovely week at this beautiful gite in Roiville . It is well laid out inside and has everything you need the gardens are perfect . The owners are a really lovely couple and nothing is to much trouble . The gardens are perfect and the view is stunning . We will definitely be going back again soon . Would highly recommend this beautiful place

Lovely stay

We had a lovely few days relaxing in the countryside. Great property, lovely open space for kids to play and gorgeous peaceful views across the valley. We did a day trip to Paris, taking the train from L’Aigle. Check in and out very easy and Nathalie an attentive and helpful host. Would recommend!

Beautiful setting

We enjoyed our stay in this lovely setting. The hosts were friendly and very responsive. Bedding needs and towels were not provided as part of the rental and we had to pay an extra fee of 50 euro for sheets, pillow case and towels. We think this should be included in the description rather than provide this information shortly before rental date. Also given it was winter time and the radiator heat was not sufficient to keep us comfortable, we would have appreciated extra blankets. As such we had to wear layers of clothing. Otherwise it was a very nice stay, place was clean, nice kitchen supplies and we appreciated the prompt and friendly service of our hosts. We would stay again if the weather was warmer.

Fantastic farmhouse near Roiville

So peaceful and hilly and pretty with sparkling clean interiors and comfortable beds. A large garden enjoyed by 2 dogs and lovely outdoor seating area and sun loungers.

Lovely property in rural Normandie

Lovely cottage/ house located about 10km from Vimoutiers. Much larger than we had anticipated. Modern, well equipped kitchen and bathroom, with three bedrooms upstairs. Prior to our arrival we were sent a Google map which was much appreciated as the property is down a narrow lane and would not have been easy to find. Nathalie met us shortly after our arrival to show us round. There were clear instructions (in French) as to the departure process (including rubbish disposal). The garden is very large and has a trampoline, swings etc for children. Fabulous views over the valley & down to Vimoutiers. Vimoutiers has a large and well stocked Carrefour supermarket. We can also recommend the La Binome restaurant where most of the produce is locally sourced (booking advised at the weekend). Cider, Pommeau, calvados & apple juice can be purchased down the road at Les Vergers du Chouquet. An excellent location for exploring Normandie; we went to Bayeux, Cabourg, Rouen, Giverny (Monet's house & garden), and Etretat as well as doing some walking in the Swiss Normande (maps (with directions in French) can be purchased from the local tourist office). A great area for cycling especially if you like long, steep hills with double digit gradients (Roiville & Crouttes about 15%). Note: bed linen and towels can be purchased at extra cost from the hosts, otherwise you will need to bring your own.

A really relaxing place to stay!

Very good contact with host prior to stay, GPS pin sent by whats app was very useful to find the property after a long journey. The property was lovely and clean and very well equipped. It has amazing views and is a very relaxing, peaceful place to stay. The balcony meant we could eat outside all time. Lots of local walks. Easy to get to Vimoutiers which has large Carrefour for all you need. Day trips out to Le Mans and Deauville were well worth the drive. Thank you Natalie for making it such a great holiday.

Lovely property and views in rural Normandy

We had a great holiday and chose this property as it was close to family who live in France. It was a lovely property and perfect for a family, with the swing and trampoline to entertain the kids. The views were from the terrace were wonderful and really highlighted how beautiful rural France is. It was close enough to a couple of towns that were well equipped and beaches were still only an hours drive. Highly recommended.

Feb getaway

Everything was fine - it was a nice area and the house was nice. We really appreciated how beautiful the place was. The surroundings were beautiful and it is a lovely setting for a family getaway. Unfortunately, at checkout, it was not clear what the expectations were when leaving. Moreover, unlike experiences in other homes, it was not clear that items like washing pods, toilet roll and other things were not going to be in abundance. A family with young children would need to be made aware of this. Finally, despite paying a cleaning fee, we were confused by the fact that we had to dispose of our own rubbish. Despite putting the rubbish in the bins, there was an issue. This would have been resolved had there been clear communication from the outset of the expectations.

A wonderful stay at a wonderful place.

If we could give 6 stars we would, the experience was so wonderful--from the cottage itself, a beautiful, well-equipped place overlooking a beautiful landscape of rolling hills with horses, to the friendly, thoughtful, and very helpful hosts Nathalie and Benoit, to the lovely, clean bedrooms, superb shower, cozy wood stove and huge dining room table--not to mention all the great walks starting from the house. It was without doubt one of our better stays, and one of the prettiest (and most delicious - camembert and pont l'eveque! cider and calvados! butter and creme fraiche!) parts of Normandy. Thank you!

Great place

Very comfortable, clean and private. Exceptional location for quiet and just to relax. We took day trips up to Deauville for the Beach, and also other areas in the countryside. The 2 towns that we went to the most for groceries were Vimoutiers and Livarot, very short drives and good Markets. This is a very peaceful and relaxing cottage with wonderful hosts.

Wonderful stay in an idyllic and picturesque setting, with racehorses at the tip of our fingers

We had rather nice weather and were able to enjoy the outdoor spaces of the property, taking all our meals on the terrace with a wonderful view overlooking the owner's horses peacefully grazing in the valley. The highlight, which we and our neighbors from the Airbnb tried not to miss, was watching the owner exercise some of the trotters, racing them on a small track winding through the fields—a very special experience. During the day, we explored the beautiful area around the cottage, indulging in cheese, cider, and Calvados. We will try to come back soon.

Un havre de paix pour faire un break

Ce gĂźte est absolument fabuleux. En pleine nature, dans la vallĂ©e de la Vie, c'est idĂ©al pour se reposer, se ressourcer, avec chevaux, vaches... Ă  proximitĂ©. Le lieu est exceptionnel par sa tranquillitĂ© et sa beautĂ© ; mĂȘme si la 'ville' n'est pas si loin pour trouver toutes les commoditĂ©s. Le gĂźte est conforme aux photos et bien agencĂ© pour une famille avec enfants. Il est bien Ă©quipĂ©, il ne manque rien. Un grand merci a Nathalie et BenoĂźt pour leur gentillesse et leur accueil ; et d'avoir Ă©changĂ© avec nous sur leur passion et amour du monde Ă©questre.
