About this property
Turtle Dome Treehouse: part of the dome town village!
Welcome to Dome Town! Dome town is a series of geodesic domes suspended in the trees. The domes are connected by suspension bridges that weave through the canopy. In total there are three sleeping domes, a giant canopy lounge net, and one communal water dome, where there are two full baths, and one wash station. Each dome offers a private and unique experience. Sleeping in a dome will change the way you think about square building forever! Dome town is located just a short walk away from The Rock House Cafe. There is no other treehouse dome experience quite like this. Explore the canopy, enjoy the gorge, sleep in a dome!
Turtle Dome is one of our larger domes and is located lower on the hillside, closer to the water dome. It sleeps two on a queen sized bed. It is heated and cooled, and has its own private kitchenette. Enjoy the expansive interior of the dome, green leaves through the bay window, and soft calming feel of the round space.
- 0.1 miles to the Red River Rockhouse Restaurant - 1 mile to the Gorge Underground - 3 miles to the Miguel's Pizza, Red River Rockhouse, Natural Bridge State Park and Daniel Boone Coffee Shop - 4 miles to Skybridge Station and the entrance to the Gorge’s Scenic Loop - 5 miles to the Zipline and Red Point BBQ
-- Amenities --
With your reservation at Turtle Dome, you also have access to Water Dome, which is another geodesic dome that has two bathrooms and a communal space with a utilitarian sink area for dishwashing and water fill up.
The outdoor lighting will be on until midnight and then we switch it off to allow the dark night forest sky to be just that--dark! We recommend packing a flashlight or headlamp to aid in moving around after the lights are off. The Domes close with magnets, there is no lock on the door itself.
Please note that this treehouse is on a 3/4 mile, bumpy, sometimes muddy, gravel road. Some two-wheeled vehicles can make it to the cabin, but four wheel drives have a much easier time. For this reason we highly recommend a 4 or all wheel drive vehicle!

Pretty awesome place. It's a good place to get away from technology due to no TVs and cell service. I would recommend packing very lightly when walking up to your dome. It's definitely a trip but well worth it.

Birthday/Anniversary weekend.
Great accommodations. Domes were neat and clean. Other guests were very polite and friendly. Parking a little tight and no water available in the individual domes. We like rough camping so carrying water was no problem. Given our age, we struggled a little with getting gear and supplies up into the canopy, this would be a great place to bring some extended family. We will brag about the experience for a few years.
