SOUNDFRONT Rodanthe - Wimble Shoals Dr. - Welcome Home! This stunning vacation paradise has everything you could ask for in a Hatteras Island vacation retreat. Just thirty feet from the Pamlico Sound, GONE WITH THE WIND sits on over an acre of land with well over 300 feet of pristine sound frontage. This home was designed to offer the best of all worlds for those who stay here. It is a windsurfing, kiting and family vacation paradise! A rigging area and ample storage add to this home's quick reputation as one of the best Hatteras sporting enthusiast's homes available. GONE WITH THE WIND is surrounded by water on two sides and is one of the only homes on the island with a cove. You'll have a huge yard for outside activities, access to the beach (a short walk to the end of the street across Hwy 12), and multiple decks to enjoy one of the best sunset views on the island. Additionally, there's a game room with pool table. This home has six bedrooms three of which are masters (including the stunning master suite on the top floor). A "kid room" with two bunks shares a bath with a spacious bedroom (king sized bed). The other bedroom has a king bed and is located on the first floor down the hall from the game room. There's laundry on the mid-level, an airy screened porch for afternoon snacks on the top level, and the grand, livable top floor great room gives you such a spectacular view that you'll think you are on your own, private cruise ship. With the new Jug Handle Bridge recently opened the once-busy road has been emptied of through traffic, making the route to the beach that much easier!

Amazing place to stay

Gone with the wind

Beautiful location plenty of room for everyone, Home was clean beds comfortable only comment would be to watch out on the decks. Last step to water was missing a board and landing going to outdoor shower starting to slope down.

So Much Potential

House is beautiful and lovely location but is for sale and upkeep has gone by wayside. Light bulbs out, missing or torn screens, no hangers in closets, many TV's didn't work due to missing cables or no batteries in remotes, no guidance for remotes or how to work TV's. Would be 5 star with some TLC.

Great location, very nice house

We had a wonderful time. The house is as advertised. Everything was clean when we arrived. We did have a couple of times (new dishwasher install was not completed before we got there, and one toilet had an issue) but the rental Company did fantastic job of resolving in a very quick timeframe. We would definitely stay there again. Note: the new bridge is now complete and in full view from the back of the property, but that did not affect us at all.

All around, amazing vacation!

This property was amazing! It was a short walk to the beach, and located right on the sound. Our kids enjoyed kayaking in the sound every day and we had a beach fire on the ocean every night. There were lots of shops and restaurants nearby. There were several local businesses and attractions that were shut down due to COVID, but we still had an amazing time. We would definitely love to come back!

The home was very spacious and the property was very nice. Absolutely loved that it was dog friendly. Unfortunately with COVID there were ALOT of basic stuff left out. Nothing to clean up with, only one roll of toilet paper left for 4 bathrooms? Ridiculous. And I will never book a home like this through VRBO and pay an extra fee just to book and then be immediately turned over to the local real estate agency. Beautiful area, very comfy house. But you better bring everything else you need! Especially towels and toilet paper.

noisy bridge construction

Although interesting to watch a bridge being constructed, the construction noise began at dawn and continued through dusk. This was not what I expected when I rented the home. The view and peace of the sound was interrupted. Luckily for us, our 30 somethings brought speakers capable of cancelling some of the noise.

Jug Handle Bridge Construction

Gone With The Wind this House was Beautiful as Listed ….. But Renter Beware they are building the Jug Handle Bridge out in front of this house The Pile Driving and Construction Noise during the week was Insane !!! After Saving for over 2 years for this Vacation I was only Refunded a very small portion ?? If I would of known this I would of Passed On this Property and would of looked elsewhere .
