Great location. Vacasa management great. June 2025
We have rented in the outer banks yearly for about 35 years. This house was in a great location, great views. The house was as noted. Rodanthe is very laid back and relaxed. The people were very pleasant. In order to get to the public beach access, which was literally across the street, you had to scale quite a high sand dune, or walk through another properties driveway. Accessibility issues also with the house as well with two flights of stairs inside with about 25 stairs each. Maybe accessibility is a filter one uses to search for properties, and this was not something we required, but accessibility was not readily noted on the listing. There was no house book, or link to operations of any kind ,for the appliances/hot tub, etc. so we had to call Vacasa with questions. Vacasa were amazingly responsive and handled the few requests we had very quickly. They texted responses withing a few minutes which is the best response from a management company we have ever had. The house sleeps 10, but the glassware was for half that number. Six glasses, six mugs. No pitcher, or carafe for lemonade, tea, margaritas. We ended up buying what was needed, but one expects there to be at least enough for what the house sleeps. The back deck held an outside shower, hottub and hose to rinse off with, but the only way to reach the spigot to turn he water on/off was to walk around the side of the house to access it. These were small inconveniences, but worth noting. Probably won't return.
