We arrive early afternoon, and checked-in with confusion that we requested a twin room, so we were given a disabled friendly room. No one spoke English which made requests and general communications awkward. The pool is nice and deep, with a small diving board, having the 8 foot hedge around the area makes you feel like you could be anywhere, rather than next to a distribution depot. Don't get me wrong, this is sleepy town, nothing was open after 7pm, except the casino. The rooms was OK, clean, cool, and the en-suite the same. TV had English channels. As there is no other restaurant within walking distance we ate the dining area. The menu had choices with individual costs, as we weren't hungry we chose an anti-pasta and a meat dish, the waiter said nothing, No guidance, no "you need to order....." nothing. Our Italian salad was meat and Parmesan cheese, that's it, and the Pork chop was... just a pork chop nothing else, which frustrates us, as we had never ordered food here before, so we expected to be guided by the waiter to include green salads or vegetables. Anyway each meal totalled 13 euro each, but upon check out we were billed 20 each for set menu, even thou we didn't order a set menu. Alas we didn't argue as the language barrier would defeat us, and so we chalked it up to experience. The reason for the average rating is the hotel is nice, the facilities were nice, the breakfast buffet was OK. what could be improved is customer service, guiding your guests when you know they are struggling or not been before. One final note, this place does look and feel like a great place to have a wedding, plenty of room, many tables and bars, and it seems that is what this place really functions on.
The room is style "beginning of las century". The light in the toilet is the same as the hotel... no energy at all! The blanket is a wooden one older than second world war. The breakfast is poor in quality and in variety: very old fashion, no choice. I honestly can't give more than 2 stars. It's not even that cheap
Our group checked in early evening as we had a dinner appointment nearby. The staff member on duty was welcoming and the reception area clean. We reminded the receptionist that we have asked for quiet rooms as we could hear a loud wedding reception in the main ballroom She assured us that it will not be a problem. We arrived back to the hotel later the evening and decided to have some drinks together as the party in the ballroom was still going strong. It did stop at midnight so we all went to bed shortly after. The room was clean. The towels however had a strange smell and the bed hard and uncomfortable. At around 5am staff started cleaning after the wedding. You could hear them move furniture. This was heard by all in our group (4 rooms in different areas in the hotel). At breakfast a few other guest was served but our group had to call a manager to ask for cutlery as no one of the staff was around to help. We eventually received coffe. Served cold and not up to the standard we have seen in the rest of Italy. Before we left we complained to the manager who said that we were the only customers complaining and that all the other guests according to him experienced great service. We asked to get a 50% refund and in the end received a refund for one room. If not for this this review would have been 1/5. By far the worst place we stayed during the two weeks in Italy and most certainly not worth the money you pay for this hotel. Will not recommend it to anyone.
Bit like a travel lodge but with a pool...but certainly not travel lodge prices! Rooms clean but basic breakfast typical Italian style hotel breakfast Convenient location being close to the motorway exit
It's a very famous place around here and I was looking forward to stay there. We've attended a wedding and then spend the night. Wedding was amazing: the food (all seafood) was spectacular and che service very professional. On the other end the night was a bit disappointing. A part from the noise coming for the room downstairs where the party was still ongoing, the rooms look very old and the air conditioning does not word well. Breakfast was not as good as you'd expect from a 120€/night hotel.
We stayed there with the whole family 4 nights We enjoyed the swimming pool and the gorgeous breakfast The dinner buffet at 25$ is expensive compared to the content of the buffet We also had a wedding every day preventing us to access the pool in the evening
nice hotel. food poor. overall it was ok for a night but would not like to be staying longer. two kids very bored as pool was not open which we were expecting but the indoor pool that was advertised was not for kids ( spa pool) although the website did not mention that when we were booking.
Our experience differed in some details but the other recent English-language reviews a lot of the story. We stayed here for one night after arriving at Pescara airport very late. We were making our way south for vacation but did not want to drive much the first night. Booked this place on Expedia after seeing it was only about 45 minutes from the airport and its being the only 4 star property in the area. Upon arrival it just seemed strange. It’s motel-looking, but resort town motel, not highway motel. Tiny gated motor court, fake flowers and champagne at the entrance. Overall weird and extremely dated--circa 1960s. That said the staff was pleasant & welcoming and the restaurant was still open (though we were advised to hurry). Our decently-for-southern Europe-sized room had a window that looked into what seemed to be a tiny former atrium with old baby cribs and cots in it. It was actually quite creepy and looked like a secret , forgotten orphanage. The beds were flat and uncomfortable, but overall everything seemed reasonably clean considering the age and wear-level of the property. Dinner was a pleasant surprise. Having spotted the nicely stocked bar in the lobby, we started with more-than serviceable cocktails and then treated ourselves to an honest and well-prepared local meal in the house restaurant. The service and the small wine list had similar sensibilities and overall it was an enjoyable welcome. Breakfast was also decent and as much freshly squeezed OJ as you would like. Many locals frequented this restaurant by the way.
We only stayed here one night which we were both very thankful for. Whilst it has a lovely pool area we were unable to use it as they had a large group of local teenagers holding a party there with very load rave music on which lasted until 7pm. Guests were not prohibited from using the pool but it we would have felt very uncomfortable doing so and was not the relaxing day by the pool we had looked forward to. The set lunch menu was limited, with several dishes not available (such as gnocchi) and only one flavour of ice cream left. They also only had one server staff who was rushing around catering to both the guests and the party outside. Come the evening, they held a different event which took all available outside eating tables so we were left sat indoors eating in a small dark room with no natural light. I can appreciate that this would be a lovely venue to hold a special occasion. That said, as a tourist you are not sen as a priority. We paid a substantial amount of money to spend the day in our room looking out into a brick wall!
This hotel looks like a motel from the street. It is conveniently accessed from the Auto- strada, but it really caters to the local event crowd (I.e. weddings, christenings etc.). It has a beautiful pool and deck area, which ate quite lovely. We happened to be there during the week when there were no events on. The service and food was quite good but I'm not sure the experience would have been the same had we been there on a weekend.
