Half-term break
We had a lovely few days staying here. The house was really cosy and comfy, everything worked as it should, it looked great and we had everything we needed provided for us. All communications were simple and direct. Nice friendly pub across the road, lots of nice things to do with kids within 20/30 min drive or even less - Bodiam Castle, Bedgebury Pinetum, Rye etc. We will very likely be back to stay there again in the future.

Beautiful,
We stayed for four nights, when we arrived the cottage was immaculate and our toddler was so happy to see some wonderful toys and books left in the children’s room.
The cottage is very well equipped, so comfortable and a very relaxing place to stay with a fabulous little park just a few minutes away.
Would highly recommend as a very central place to stay to visit Rye, Tenterden and the beautiful vineyards in Kent.

Wonderful short break
This petite cottage is the perfect place to stay - the property is just as good as it looks in the pictures and there were lots of small touches that really made a difference. There was a bottle of wine and some crisps to nibble on arrival, shampoo and conditioner in the shower, hairdryers provided, tea and coffee, salt and pepper, dishwasher tablets, tea towels, spare bin bags and loo roll. The owners have really thought through what makes for a good cottage experience. We simply couldn’t fault it!

A perfect place for a short family break
We booked Wheelwrights for a 3 night stay over the half term holiday with our 15 year old daughter and our dog. As soon as we walked in the door we knew we’d made the right choice. The house has a wonderful fresh feel to it and everything is clean, cosy and beautifully presented.
The house is in the centre of the small village of Staplecross, with a pub across the road (which serves great food) and a post office and general store just around the corner. The location is perfect for exploring, with Bodiam Castle and Great Dixter gardens just a few minutes drive away, and the beautiful and ancient town of Rye just a bit further afield.
The only negative was that our time there was just too short - but we hope to be able to book another stay soon.
Well equipped, bright and comfortable cottage, ideal for families
We stayed for four nights in June and were delighted with the facilities provided. One king size bedroom, one double bedroom and a small room suitable for a child (we brought our own crib for the baby). Small details like the stair gate and a few toys helped too. The patio furniture was well used as we had glorious weather. Staplecross is well placed for exploring Rye. Hastings, local vineyards and National Trust properties. We would like to return next year!

The cottage is beautifully furnished with many little thoughtful extras such as games and sewing equipment. Perhaps a little too expensive for it’s situation. However for us needing extra accommodation for a family get together it was perfect.

A Great Find!
Not the normal detached, remote rural property I usually opt for, but I'm glad that I chose this one. The booking process was easy, however on the final confirmation It would be good to have the key box code so you only have to find the last Bloom email. Upon arrival we were pleasantly surprised, the cottage was really lovely, plenty of comfort, excellent kitchen equipment and really, really comfy beds. Quality linen, towels and a heated bathroom floor, what more could you ask for! We really enjoyed our three days, the owner was really helpful and even delivered top up coffee pods to keep the supply going for a real coffee drinker like me. Plenty of positives, negatives were minimal and out of owners control, like noise and neighbours, but to be expected in location, everything else was tip top.

New year visit
Loved the house very much . Very comfortable and beautifully decorated with amazing attention to detail . No issues with the house just the location is just a tad too far from Rye , Tenterden and other main areas .
Not great for driving home to in the dark on the small country roads . This would not be an issue in summer

Fantastic
A beautiful house. We’ve been there with 2 adults and 3 children. Everything is nearby. Like the playfield, little supermarket and the pub. We liked all the colors in the house. The kitchen is comfortabel with a lot of crockery.
If I need to give a tip. The only toilet is upstairs. That wasn’t great all time. But we managed. Also the bank in the kitchen is to high for the table.

A beautiful and luxurious home
We loved our stay at Wheelwrights. The home is beautifully decorated and the generous owners have gone the extra mile - from the furnishings, crockery, cosy underfloor heating in the lounge and bathroom to even the plentiful plants, blinds and kitchen white goods, I appreciated the owners have opted to spoil guests and provide premium items. The property seemed new throughout. A standout feature for me was the characterful use of colour.
We had fun playing the family boardgames the owners have thoughtfully provided, many of which were brand new. It was a treat to enjoy the coffee machine and milk frother that's fit for George Clooney ;-).
The property is decently located for local attractions - we went to the seaside, Battle Abbey, Bedgebury Forest and Hastings Aquarium. While located on the main road and adjacent to other homes, the road isn't particularly busy, and we could hear the birds in the morning.
Nicki gave some very helpful tips ahead of our stay, was warm and very responsive to messages and questions.

Mixed Feelings
Firstly house was modern and tastefully decorated, spotlessly clean and beds had lovely linen, nice towels.
Downside for us! Fridge with a small ice box no good for long stays like ours when you want to get a good amount of frozen goods.
TV too high on wall making Watching TV uncomfortable.
Dining table arrangement awkward with only 2 chairs and other seating provided by cushions on cupboards which we found too high when sat at table.
The low beam on entering the main bedroom meant quite a few bangs to my head when getting up in the night.
The lightning in the bathroom activated by movement meaning once on it stays on for hours! The sliding door to bathroom which has a small hole to put your finger in to pull to close meant a couple of broken finger nails for my wife.
Very complicated heating system if you want to operate and I'm a heating engineer!
Nothing much in the area one dirty uninviting pub and a small local shop.
So a lot of driving to go anywhere and do anything.
