Booked two rooms after charter and we were pleasantly surprised! The owner/manager was very helpful answered our questions. The rooms were clean and had everything we needed. The restaurant had incredible food and friendly staff. Overall a GREAT place to stay and a great deal!
My husband, myself and two other couples stay here before and after our charter. As stated before, the room is basic, but very clean. What makes this hotel great is it’s people. We arrived very late (11:00ish) and someone was there to check us in. The Circle Cafe stayed open so we could get a drink. I will write another post about this local flavour cafe. You have to walk through the cafe to get to our rooms which was fine. During our last night there, one couple hearted a noise outside their room. They went to investigate and found the noise coming from a water drain, called manger who came down and shut the water off, had the plumber in the next morning to fix the problem. The rooms had air, ceiling fan, hot showers and a comfy bed. We woke up to the call of a rooster. Chickens seem to be everywhere on the islands. The owner answered emails promptly. It seems the hotel like many other buildings lost their room during Irma and have our recently reopened. If your looking for a reasonable price, clean and friendly hotel, this is it.
This 1950s era hotel is surprisingly pleasant. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful, rooms are immaculate, AC works perfectly, pool and deck are cleaned regularly, and the restaurant on the premises is excellent. It's walking distance to the ferry dock, and almost across the street from Conch Charters. We stayed a couple of nights before and after a weeklong charter, and it was perfect. We'll definitely return.
I've stayed in this hotel four times now. The rooms are basic and clean. The suites at the front of the hotel are larger but noisier from the road. This time I stayed in a basic twin room which was ok, but could really do with having at least one chair in it; not having anywhere to sit is a problem. The attached restaurant serves simple bar snack food, but it's good quality and reasonably priced.
We stayed here 2 nights and then a third night a week later. I didn't bring my booking receipt with me but it was for the King Suite (awesome room) at $108USD. When I got there and paid cash, the room was $158USD per night. It is the cheapest I could find on the island at that so we paid it and enjoyed our stay. The bar was only open when the bartender didn't have other plans. Cold water only for first 2 nights but nice hot water on the last night. Friends had smaller room and not impressed but it was $30 cheaper. When we go back there, we will stay there again and get the King "Suite" which is just a nice size room with King bed. The balcony that overlooked the harbor also had table and chairs. It is right on the road so be prepared to hear traffic. Quiets down after 10pm. Pool was small but ok. Pleasant sitting area outside. Rooms cooled off quickly with A/C unit. Clean and comfortable. Refrigerator needs to be turned on at the outlet on the wall. Nice park right across the street.
Sea View is a wonderful, small hotel near the ferry in Road Town. The rooms are spartan but very clean with a good shower and abundant hot water. The room has cable TV, fridge, AC and a comfortable bed. The restaurant is small but has a good menu. The chef is a master, everything I ate there was terrific. The restaurant is frequented by an interesting, friendly group of locals. The owner and staff are very pleasant and try to make your stay enjoyable. Other restaurants and car rental are all within easy walking distance. As a solo traveler I felt very comfortable there.
We (4 people) stayed here for 1 night waiting for a catamaran charter. The price was right & very clean. Not the Ritz but very clean. Would definitely stay there again. T in he restaurant was clean, friendly, not so cheap tho. It was convenient from ferry location. Would definitely take a cab, due to the hotel being on a slight hill.
The room was small & nearly windowless, and echoed like a stairwell. Shower was either pure hot or pure cold water and never could figure out an in between setting. Cafe had decent enough food and was a very comfortable place to be, but the cafe staff seemed to go out of their way to be unpleasant towards guests. Despite the name, there's absolutely no "sea view" from the two rooms that I was in. The main road is about six feet away from the hotel and it's incredibly busy with loud traffic. Dust from the road ensures that you cannot sit on a balcony or leave a window open for any length of time without needing to wash your clothes. Road construction may contribute to this problem, but I suspect it's pretty much always dusty. The hotel is a short but very unpleasant walk along the main road to restaurants and other amenities. The pool has a gray tinge to it that ensured no guests used it in the two days I was there.
Spent a Sunday night at the Sea View Hotel after a SunSail charter. The Sea View is an older small locally owned hotel a short walk from the ferry and town. If you need a new or fully refurbished 4-5 star resort the Sea View Hotel is not for you. If all you need is a comfortable room and clean bathroom with plenty of hot water, good a/c, cable TV, free strong internet, pool and can overlook minor nicks and dings the Sea View is a good choice. The hotel provides solid basics for a fair price. Would recommend and will stay there again. Points guests should be aware of: Room had a small TV. Get remote from receptionist. Also the wall switch to turn on the frig is hidden behind the coffee maker. Everything you need is within walking distance of the hotel. 5 minute walk to ferry, 10 minutes to town. But Road Town shuts down on Sundays. The only store I fund open was the supermarket. Most restaurants were also closed. Ate at Pussers & The Den both ok.
The rooms were very nice with good working airco system. The bathroom was also good with a nice shower. Room came with large balcony, but along side a road. Definitely one of the best hotels on tortola price quality wise. Def worth a visit for a short stay after sailing the British Virgin islands.
