Wow arrangement in room upon arrival special anniversary and birthday. service is amazing. All i have to say good hotel. The restaurant is amazing all the staff are very friendly and always smiling.am a frequent traveller to Saudi, Europe, Switzerland and other destinations. The alwaha palace is my favorite hotel in Riyadh. Rarely have I been served as by the staff of the alwaha. , from reception, in particular, has always been of outstanding service and politeness. and clearly cares about guests.
Where to begin? For the first two days of my stay they did not issue me a room key--some problem with their system--which meant having to wait (sometimes as long as 15 minutes) for someone to let me into my room. As another reviewer mentioned, there are many internet connection options--none of which works well. This made using Skype impossible and even checking email difficult. When I checked out I was overcharged. (When I brought it to the manager's attention, he could not refund the money to my card, so he gave me Saudi Riyals--exactly what I needed as I was about to leave the country.) Other petty frustrations include the fact that room service could not be charged to the room or paid for in cash--credit card was the only option. They advertise dinner to start at 6.30 and end at 10.30. In fact, it does not open until 7 and closed at 10. No explanation given. All in all, it's just not clear why you would stay here. There are cheaper and more reliable alternatives, such as the Ibis.
Never seen over booking of additional 30-50 pax in Hotel industry before...management was not able to resolve the overbooking leaving all guests waiting endlessly for resolution. Worst management and people at front office.
It is not an easy work to make any positive review to any place in Saudi Arabia but this time was too much. Waiting around 25 minutes to make the checking was only the beginning. I ordered some food when I arrived to be delivered to the room as I was hungry and the food was ready before the room.. And the reason why the room was not ready is because there was nobody in the reception for about 15 minutes.. I thought it was a joke! Also, they have like 5-6 internet connection options. No one is working properly. It comes and it goes. No chance for a Skype call or anything that needs good connection. Paying 120$ for this is just frustrating. Not coming back.
Booking a hotel when the US President will be in town is not easy. When the hotels recommended to me were full, I had to look elsewhere. I found Al Waha Palace Hotel online and the reviews looked good. On arrival I was ignored for a while at check-in. I eventually got to hand over my booking number and a porter was told to show me to my room. I wasn't asked for ID or to sign anything. I asked for a key card for the room and was told not to worry about it - the porter would let me in and someone would bring me a key card shortly. It was now midnight so I really just wanted to get to my room. I was shown to a room. It was a great size and the bedding and bathroom was very clean, but the decor was shabby and the walls and furniture tired. The bathroom did not have the separate shower and bath I had booked. By 01:30am no one had brought my room key. I called down to reception and was told not to worry it would be soon. A little while later I went down to reception and was told no key card was available. I was escorted back to my room. The next day I again asked for a key card and was told there was some sort of problem. In the end, at no point during my stay did I have a key to my room. I often had to wait 10 or 15 minutes whenever I needed access to the room. This was unacceptable for a hotel that has four stars and claims to welcome international guests. I wouldn't stay again. But I will say that the bed was comfortable and the breakfast was delicious and with a great deal of choice. It is just disappointing that the hotel management didn't appreciate how weird it was for a customer not to have unimpeded access to their room.
Hotel was within reasonable walking distance of centre, although not much in the line of restaurants around it. All the Hotel's staff were friendly and very helpful. the Hotel is quiet and well maintained. Very good shower, but remember to remove the plate over the drainage hole to avoid water over-flowing.
The location is very good, just next to a large mosque, downtown Riyadh, and has very good view. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The food is not bad at all. The Internet was super fast, and much more.
Have stayed twice in last two months. Room allocated during second stay had new king-size bed and more comfortable. Late check out option available helping if you travelling late at night. Breakfast buffet offers wide range of Arab and Western dishes plus eggs cook to order. Staff are attentive and eager to serve. Overall good value for money!
The hotel is located close to olailla street. I have been twice in this hotel and the experience is really good. Rooms are big and clean and bath rooms are well equiped. I did not use the swimming pool as it was out of use when I have been there. If I should make a negative comment is related to breakfast as it is not one of my favourites buffet. The serve american coffee and they do not have any nespresso or similar, food it is a mix of cultures but not linked to european stile, and pastries are not home made. They have an omellet shop which made my breakfast.
The hotel is very clean, locatin is great and staff is very friendly. I would highly recommend it and would stay here again. The food (dinner) is excellent with variety between middle eastern and pasta while breakfast is just fine.
