If you don't wanna spend over 150usd a night just to be on beach strip this is a good choice. I stay here for 46 bucks and I got a free upgrade to a suite. Nice room fast wifi very close to beach. Perfect stay
The Hotel was in a "Fantastic" location, being near the Copacabana and local travel links. The room was kept very clean and the breakfast Buffet was always different and well prepared. The Staff were always willing to help you out. The only gripe I have is "why, in a multi-story Hotel, they would give you a room on the first floor, with no window view whatsoever?" (Maybe Hotels always give you a rubbish location straight away, and wait for you to complain?.. This time I did not...?)
We took a last minute trip to Rio without making advance lodging plans. We only had two days to explore Rio. We found Hotel Astoria Copacabana online. We were very pleasantly surprised. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable with a view of the pool. Our Portuguese is limited. Simone Rizzo, who speaks several languages, helped schedule shopping and dining outings. She sent us to museums and galleries that made the trip interesting and fun.
the single room i had was very very small but quiet, well furnished with fridge, tv, etc... breakfast is good, but it's really crowded and the dining room is a bit smal so you could have to wait before getting a table ... Anyway the main reason if not the only one to stay here is the location.
We spent 3 nights here, the first being our first night in Brazil after a long flight from Europe. We got there around 9PM and the double room we booked was not available... we were clearly heavily disappointed, they offered either to move to another hotel or to spend that night in 2 single rooms. We went for the last option, being too tired to move elsewhere. The single rooms were awful: almost only space for a single bed and nothing more! The day after they moved us on a double room on the same floor, which was just about to be ok... they offered a free dinner to compensate but we didn't have it. Breakfast was also nothing to remember... overall the only good point of this hotel is the position: walking distance from Copacabana beach and very close to a metro station. I wouldn't recommend to go there
Location of hotel is perfect, just a couple of blocks away from Copacabana beach, but the rooms are not even close of what they look like in the pictures, they are not bad, but it was sold to me as a 4 star hotel, and it is not, is just a 3 star economy hotel. Maybe i was expecting a little more.
Nice place, kind and well organized. The room was pretty little, definitely little for 100 euros each day, but the swimming pool and the academy made me happy at the end. The position is perfect, 100 meters to copacabana beach and the agenda atlantica that is the principal in this area of the city.
I got a laundry closet of a room with a single bed, no view of the street or ocean. I wouldn't even rate this place 1 star. Pathetic service n gave me really poor exchange rates. Save yourself the money n find a better hotel.
I can't imagine that if a pay $160 i will receive this kind of room. This room is 1 star hotel and the price is for 4star. When I compliment anybody take care. You must wait 5 minutes for hot watter at the bath
Every time a person visited me, albeit for a minute or an hour; hotel tried to charge me a guest fee. Management are thieves - stay away. Buffet free breakfast inedible and they didn't have coffee. They say they have bilingual staff, but I couldn't find anybody that some English. When I told them I would not pay their extortion fee, they threaten to call police. I am a very very experienced traveler, worst experience ever.
