Unfortunately, my experience with both the Benidorm Hotel and Expedia was very disappointing.
The hotel is undergoing major renovations, which was not disclosed at the time of booking. The property felt messy due to construction, with dust/powder on the floors. Our toilet was loose and unstable; I reported it to reception, but nothing was done.
Additionally, both the hotel pool and the gym pool were not working. While access to a pool at the hotel across the street was offered, this was not communicated in advance. Guests should be clearly informed about unavailable amenities before arrival.
There was also a serious issue with our reservation. I entered that my child is 13 years old, but upon arrival I was told Expedia listed him as under 5. Because of this discrepancy, I was charged nearly US$600 extra. When booking, I tried correcting his age, but the system kept reverting to the incorrect information, which was very frustrating. Eventually, the age seemed to be correct but to my surprise, during check-in, it was not!
Overall, the lack of transparency, unexpected charges, and unavailable amenities made this a very disappointing experience.
