I stayed in at Pelican Reef before, but at a smaller unit. This other one was perfect for my family and me. We enjoyed the peacefulness of the place and majestuosity of the views. You don't need to go anywhere. This place has it all and the host is "Johnny on the spot" if you need anything anytime. Already reserved my next visit. Can't wait!

Horrible Check-In

The check in process was horrible. First of all, the address provided does not take you to the property and the directions given are unclear. Thus, when we arrived at 4AM, we spent a ton of time simply trying to find the condo. We called the host many times and he did not answer (and he was aware that we would be arriving overnight). It was not until my wife had the bright idea to look up other listings at that same condo was she able to find a listing that provided the correct address. Then when we got to the condo, the instructions told us to retrieve the key from a Master lockbox outside the gate, however, there are probably 50 or more lockboxes outside the gate and the instructions do not tell you which lockbox to access. Thus, after calling the host several more times and not receiving an answer, I decided to just try the code provided on every single lockbox outside the gate, and eventually one of them worked and I was able to get the key and gain access to the property around 5:30 AM. All in all, after driving 2 hours from San Juan in the middle of the night, it took an additional hour and a half, just to find the condo and the lockbox needed to actually check into the property. Needless to say, our trip started off on the wrong foot. The condo itself was generally as advertised in the pictures, although not as clean. The table mats were dirty and had old food on them, the kitchen counters and dishes were dirty as well. Location, pool, and private beach were nice.

Winter Getaway

Very good base to spend a week enjoying Eastern PR. A perfect ocean view from the balcony and one bedroom. The apartment was spacious and nicely decorated and equipped, though it is missing a dishwasher. The grounds are great with uncrowded pool area and a lovely little beach area.

Enjoyed our stay very much

We stayed in this condo for one month and thoroughly enjoyed it. Our host was very helpful and responsive to our few questions. The accommodations are clean, decorated tastefully, have wonderful water views and well maintained grounds and pools. A sandy beach is adjacent and accessible and the water is calm and warm. Good for all ages to swim. Good security in and around the property. Easy drive to center of town and good places to eat. We would certainly return.

Rundown neighborhood, condominium not well kept, not enough clean towels or sheets, hard to open closets doors, rugs not properly clean, ants, beach not easy accessible due to not railings to hold on, very noisy air conditioners and last but not least last night of the trip lights went out that night and we left and they were still out. 950 Pelican Reef rating is a-0.

Nice room but no beach

The check in was smooth except the bedrooms had puddles of water on the floor from condensation coming from the AC units. Although that was an easy fix since the unit supplied a mop and bucket. The first night, I reported the shower head in the main bathroom did not work and the handheld showerhead was leaking. The property manager immediately responded but never sent anyone to fix it even tho we had a 3 night stay. The view from the unit balcony was beautiful. It felt like we were on a cruise ship while watching the sunset. But the listing displayed direct beach access which was deceiving since the beach was so eroded that the entrance to the beach was unaccessible. No one can control mother nature, but the unit description shouldn't include, "direct beach access" in the description and beach photos from several years ago. Otherwise, the unit was very clean, the washer/dryer worked well, and the AC units kept the entire room nice and cool. We did lose power due to a storm in the middle of the night and only had one standing fan to help cool down until power was restored about 10 hours later. The unit manager said power outages happen often due to storms. If that is the case, the unit should have multiple fans or ceiling fans. Since this unit was on the 2nd floor corner unit, we couldn't open the balcony door to create a crosswind thru the apartment because the room immediately filled with CO2 from the backup generator. So 90+ degrees in the room until power restored.

Desde que se entra al apt. te das cuenta de su decoración impecable, limpieza y comodidad. La cocina totalmente equipada con todos los utensilios y vajillas necesarios. La vista al mar desde el balcón es impresionante. Tiene acceso a la playa. El apt tiene sillas de playa, sombrilla y neverita. La piscina muy limpia. A solo minutos (como 5) en carro del centro de Rincón. Tuvimos un inconveniente con los TV y un aire acondicionado pero la respuesta y comunicación con Javier fue inmediata.

The day we arrived i reached out to the property manager about the rooms no being cleaned. The day before we left i got sick with a severe sore throat and a green discharge form my eyes. They day i got home i had to make an appointment with my physician and was told i had a bacteria eye infection and needed to take 4 days off work. This trip ended up costing me a lot of money and time off work.

Lovely apartment

The apartment was well laid out and was great for 2 friends traveling. The apartment was sparking clean and well kitted out. Particularly loved the balcony. More clarity on the key box and some day one coffee would have been appreciated.
