Tallink Hotel Riga4.0 out of 5.0

I stumbled into an excellent deal on Expedia that bundled our international flight to Riga, Latvia and a 2 week stay in the city. Tallink was one of the hotel options presented and after looking at tripadvisor reviews and the location of the hotel, we decided to give it a try. We couldn't have been more pleased. The location was great for us. Every appointment we had was within relatively easy walking distance of the hotel. In addition we were easily able to walk into Old Town for a day of sightseeing and souvenir shopping. One day we took the train to Sigulda, a little over an hour away - a very easy thing to do since the station is just across the street from the Tallink. Staff greeted us warmly when we arrived and quickly and efficiently got us checked in. Any time we had a question or concern, they were very helpful - including making sure our late arriving luggage was delivered securely to our room. Our room was comfortable, nicely appointed and incredibly quiet. The bathroom was fairly large and I loved the warm tile floors. The morning breakfast, included with our room, was so good and filling. We had the option of a morning sauna also included with our room rate, but never took advantage of it. The room rate also included free wifi that worked very well. You know, living out of a motel room for 2 weeks can get pretty claustrophobic, but we never felt that in the Tallink. Now that I know the Tallink, I would choose it for my next trip to Riga!
I visited Tallink Hotel Riga in business trip November 2017. Room were I stayed was nice but quite small. Shower was unfortunately a bit clogged. Breakfast was really nice and rich, there were many opinions to choose for. Location is really good- everything is close by.
The hotel is conveniently located near the old town, train station and the more modern parts of Riga. The staff was helpful and the breakfast delicious. The rooms were clean and modern. Although the hotel is larger than the type I usually stay at, it still was homey and friendly.
Pros: A modern hotel. Newly renovated. Nice beds Walking distance to the old quarters. Cons: The gym was really tragic. Breakfast was boring. The walk to the old quarters went through some really boring and noisy roads.
A modern, clean and central hotel in Riga. The room I got was quite small but OK! The bathroom had dark walls, but it was modern and functional. Soap and shampoo only from dispenser. The room was quiet and had a minibar. The beds were nice. Best of all is that everything was clean! The room, the bathroom, the bar, the restaurant, the elevator... everything. I like that! We also used the conference area. It was a bit oldfashioned and did not have the same standard as the rest of the hotel...
The Hotel is centrally located. You can go anywhere from there. Train, tam, bus and taxi. We stayed there from 29th Oct 2017 till 5th November 2017 and cannot complain on anything. The price paid for bed and breakfast was well above our expectations. The white sheets and everything else spotlessly clean. The continental breakfast is very good too. One day it was raining and the six of us decided to stay inside in the evening. The TV did not work and when I reported this to reception, a knock on the door came literally within seconds - the technician must have been behind the door :) In my opinion this is a 5 star hotel priced as a 4 star one. Transport in Latvia is very cheap, sometimes a taxi is cheaper than the bus. For example we went to Jurmala with the train for just €1 each!! Travellers look out for Panta Taxi because they are really really cheap. A trip from the hotel to the airport costed us only €7 for six persons. You need not pre-book a taxi from the airport to the hotel.
After checking in to a awful hostel type apartment we booked here last minute, what a find! Lovely cozy room, very modern en suite bathroom/ shower room, shower was lovely. Very clean. Breakfast was amazing and staff fab. Its in a great location with everything within a ten minute walk. I would highly recommend this hotel.
Our room was very cozy - everything needed was there.pleasantly quiet. We also satisfied with a parking arrangement. Everything is very close - The Old Town is a short walk away, the bus station, shopping malls, the wonderful river-side promenade remain across the street. The breakfast was plentiful and tasty.
Nice cozy room, breakfast very good and staff friendly. Lobby bar service very good! No traffic noise during night! Parking possibility in basement, hotel location very good, Riga market just over the road.
The hotel is immaculate and modern with a great layout. The location is great as it is on the edge of the old town, but within easy walk of the main train and bus station as well. When we arrived at the hotel,we were pleasantly surprised to find we had been upgraded for the first two nights to the hotel suite, which was absolutely beautiful.Although the hotel is on a busy junction and on one side overlooks a bus station, the sound insulation for the rooms from the outside or adjoining rooms is excellent and we had no noise issues at all. It's a real pleasure to find an (all too rare) hotel that has been designed for peace and quiet. For our final night,we were "relegated" to the standard room we had originally booked, however were surprised to find this was fitted out the same way as the suite, albeit considerably smaller, and was still a lovely room. Oh,and the buffet breakfast was amazing. One of the best I've had with an enormous variety of quality food. Thank you Tallink Hotel Riga, we will definitely stay here again if we come back to Riga!
