Today is the Valentine’s oday is the Valentine's Day. and today we decided to go to the restaurant elements is located in the hotel Tallink hotel riga. The restaurant was with a special romantic atmosphere. the staff was very friendly. in general, everything was very tasty and very good. Big thank you executive chef Anatolijs Pimanovs and team. You know your business guys. Thank you for wonderful evening
Room was small but cozy.Spa is very little-only one sauna and jazzuci. The breakfast was definitely the best part of the hotel.Location is great.Next to hotel big shopping centre Origo and also train station and 800 meters away was the bus station and the market. The old city and all the pubs and restaurants also 800 m to walk.
This hotel ruined our trip and impression of Riga. Staff- rude, ignorant and showed zero customer service. This was staff at reception and the staff at breakfast. Breakfast - fairly poor selection and don’t be late (apparently half hour before breakfast finishes is late) or the staff will tell you off (did I mention the staff were rude ?) Cleanliness- none. This was the dirtiest hotel I’ve been to, the floors were disgusting and the edges hadn’t been cleaned for some time. There was a used tissue by the bedside table to great us. Blood stains on mattress . (See photos) I checked under bed before we left in case our 4 y.o left any toys only to find about 2 months worth of dust and previous guests bottle tops. As we went out one evening we discovered somebody had been sick with two patches of vomit by the lifts! We thought we better tell staff as the can’t be everywhere, upon our return two hours later it was still there!! My wife returned to say to staff again and they aggressively said ‘it wasn’t sick’ ‘we checked and there is nothing there’ and ‘we cleaned it up’. Three contradictions in one conversation is quite good, especially when there is a pile of festering vomit waiting to great guests to their floor. (Think this counts as staff rudeness btw) It would appear that we booked on the same weekend as an ice hockey game, meaning we were flored with scores of drunken Motörhead fans partying in their rooms until the early hours, those that still could party that is, we went to go for a drink in the bar with the only seat between the fat bloke that was trying to grab our child and the drunken unconscious male who security were trying to revive by poking him, not exactly family friendly!! Almost forgot about the heat!! The heat is set at 23degrees and you can +|-3 , you would assume that if you -3 then it’d go to 20? No, it was reading 28 at one point, chokingly hot meaning you can’t sleep and that you need to put any outer layers of clothes on in the corridor and you can’t open the windows. Our room offered a nice view of a building site and a train/bus station as the hotel is situated away from anything remotely picturesque. We left early and booked into the Wellton in the old town, it was hear we discovered that some Latvian hotels employ staff that are polite, that they clean their rooms and it’s not Latvian culture to sleep in a sauna.....anyway, don’t stay in the Tallink ! And did I mention the staff were rude ?
Very nice rooms and hotel. Clean and very good breakfast. Near the city, just walk around the corner. A shoppingcenter not so far from the hotel if you want to go shopping. Modern style at this hotel and they also had a pool or SPA.
Hotel is located close to main railway station. Old town is maybe 15min walk away. You can reach the hotel from airport with a bus 22, which takes you approx 400m from hotel or take "Marshrutka" van number 222 from the airport, which has end station next to the hotel. For both a single ticket cost EUR1,15 and available at Narvese kiosk, at airport one is at departure level between security and pharmacy. Check-in was smooth and staff was attentive and polite. Generally all the staff were good and helpful. Room was standard with full carpeting, which is not very clean option generally in the room in the winter with slush. Colleague said that hotel was full, so I didn't even try to ask for non-carpet option. Otherwise room was clean and equipped with TV and kettle with tea. I think there was also minibar, didn't check that. Safe was in the closet for your valuables. Importantly wifi worked and enough power sockets to get your appliances charged. Bed was good, firm, which I prefer and one pillow. Bathroom had hair dryer and soap dispensers, so only additional amenity was vanity kit, very good and another, maybe shower cap, don't recall anymore that one. I really wish that hotels would offer also basic body lotion, as thanks to liquid limitation onboard flights, you can't always your own with you. If they offer it at reception, I didn't see any signs telling that. The shower was basic, some rust/mould in shower wall corners telling that hotel is not any more brand new. Room was quiet, you don't hear much neighbours, I know that there were neighbours in their rooms same time. Breakfast was ok, bread, tea/coffee and juice selection being very good. Bacon was more "rawish" than crispy, but judging that breakfast room was full, that bacon was cooked in a hurry. Elevator had nice idea of a breakfast thermometer, telling when usually most people have their breakfast. Lunch was also ok, offering a buffet also with fish and chicken. The Salad bar was better and desserts nice. I saw some local businessmen having lunch there. Garage was small, but adequate. Hotel offers sauna, but according the information only in the morning, which I find very odd, I would have used it in the evening. Summary: Good quality hotel, easy access with luggage, bit off from old town, some 10-15 walk away.
Nice and fairly new hotel in the center of Riga near to railway station and a shopping mall. It's a reasonable short walking distance away from the old town. The facility is of moderns type, restaurant and lobby bar included. Rooms are clean with modern toilets. Views from the rooms are, however, limited to the next buildings, except of the more exclusive rooms facing a square. Price level is moderate compared to the good quality.
Very clean and straight in the center of Riga. Good and huge breakfast choices. So, this means a lot for those who travel next day to other countries or just like to have a good breakfast. Very tiny room, seems like bathroom was bigger than a room.
Tallink Hotel Riga is a modern beautiful clean hotel with nice staff! Good location in the city. The buffet breakfast had everything I wanted. I definitely visit this hotel again next time in Riga! A perfect stay:)
The hotel and staff were fantastic, the location is ideal for transport and walking in the city. The room was clean, well maintained, quite, breakfast had the most choices of any hotel we have visited. WE have stayed in many hotels in Riga but this will be our regular form now on
I was in this hotel already few times. And my impressions are very good. Clean, with very nice design in lobby, corridors, rooms. Nothing spoiled, well maintained. Heated floor in bathroom. Excellent service in check desk and breakfast room. Very good sound proofing from outside, even the hotel is very close to railway station. Good location - close to Stockman shopping centre and walking distance to old town. Moderate prices. Sure next time back again.
