Stayed three nights at the hotel. Hotel is very well located, close to the old town, and opposite of a nice park. I had booked a standard room, and was placed in a room on the first floor (Elevator suggests 2nd and room card 6th) at the backside of the hotel. The room was fine, except for the carpet that was filthy. Bathroom was of standard size but quite old. Noise level from the street was high after 7am. I have not visited the gym or spa area but colleagues recommended them. The rooftop is fantastic. Great views, nice setting, great drinks.
This huge facility (if you sleep in the back side you need to walk for 10 minutes to head for your room...) near the old town, was not upgraded for > 10 years. People still walk in and out like in a mall, heading for conference rooms, the panoramic bar or the casino .And the rooms are still exactly the same....small but ok. This is one of the very few hotels were they charge you for the bottle of water in your room;4.5 euro, for that money you can buy 12 bottles in Latvia . Staff is ok and the breakfast area is huge but the food is ok . The feeling of being important as a customer is lacking merely due to the size of the entire operation. Security is non existent.
Whilst Riga has a sad history, i have never mat so many happy and helpful people and it starts with the Radisson. This is very good accommodation, centrally placed in a very beautiful and welcoming city. We didn't spend much time in the rooms but enough to know that they were safe, clean, comfortable with staff ready to help. Great breakfasts and lovely cold beer in the bar. Radisson's proximity to the old city was a bonus as we spent a lot of time there. If you want to feel like the locals want you there, are happy to see you and will do what the can to make your stay great, go to Riga but go to the Radisson Hotel first. Its great start
What can you say? Very good rooms. Good rooftop bar and restaurant, with great view, but not cheap. Shrimp and pasta in red sauce very good. Drinks were honest. Rooms large and comfortable. Would stay again.
Spent few nights on a business trip and am satisfied with few minor comments. Hotel is really large, a lot of people participating I various conferences. Room was not the usual Radisson quality: furniture has seen better times, bedding was not the best I've seen in Radisson's. Location is nice.
Riga is a sad city and definitely the world's coldest population, recommending everyone to avoid traveling here. But thanks to the hotel and the activities of the hotel, we saved our 5 day trip. The hotel is of fair standard, one of Europe's best spa, casino and good food in the restaurant. Important to book a room with spa access, you will have nice views of the city and no less than free access to the spa. The spa is great and we were at the spa every single day, the treatments are quite expensive so we used the Wellton Riga spa and hotel that has a lot better price. If I had ever returned to Riga, I would have used this hotel, but by all means avoid traveling to Riga, Poland is a much better option!
The hotel has some wonderful 'rooms with a view' in the 27 storey tower block which seem to be about €40 per night more expensive than the presumably original North block where the rooms are still clean, comfortable, very adequate, and with free, fast WiFi. My room 6626 however overlooked a potentially noisy bar/nightclub, but thankfully all was quiet during my 3 night stay. The reception staff were most helpful and the conference facilities really were excellent. The catering during breaks was particularly good with fresh fruit plus local tasty cakes and pastries. Don't miss the view from the 26th storey Skyline bar, although the drinks service was painfully slow. In fact the bar service in the hotel was generally slow and needs more staff to cope. Breakfasts were very good and with a wide selection.
Have been a recurring guest for many years and found service, food, rooms and beds fantastic, also great treatments in the Spa. Very professional quick service in the past, but this recept stay was really unpleasant due to the overcrowded tourists staying at this hotel, loads of buses, extremely slow elavators stoppning on each floor due to capacity problems with such an amount of people staying here. Breakfast is just unpleasant, terrible and overcrowded, no choices and empty plates. Service very slow, ordered a meal for dinner at the room more than 40 minutes and it was cold. I cannot recall this situation in the past. The hotel rooms are nice, the hotel is perfectly located for a short walk to the wonderful old town. The view is magnicificent and there is a bar on 24th floor. I hope to feel more comfortable next time as the rooms are great with beds to sleep in heaven! For business purpose it would be great to split breakfast rooms. Staff do a brilliant job and are service minded.
Right location, walkable distance from the old town, fair price, solid rooms and very cosy lounge/restaurant. Nice view from the Skyline Bar. Relaxing pool and spa in additinon (little bit hard find though)
Pros: comfortable beds. At last a hotel which provides us twin beds if I ask for it at booking. Pillow menu available. Nice breakfast, not much for vegans though - mainly the porridge, usual vegetables, fruits amd soy milk. Nice view from the rooms. Cons: rooms are very small, definitely not for 2 persons (I know, that’s a business hotel, but still - for that price a superior room should have been more spacious). Spa is ok, but there isn’t any relax area, only if you pay extra. So when you finished a steam bath session, you either soak in the jacuzzi or walk around, or just simply stand. No storage place in the bathroom. Please think of ladies, who carry much more toiletries, make-ups, etc., than a man! The bathroom felt as if I was in a 2 or 3 star hotel. Staff was alright, however I experienced real kindness only in the breakfast area.
