We stayed at the best Radisson in town. It was in the perfect location for sightseeing and shopping. Room was spacious and clean. Bath was modern and spotless. Restaurant downstairs was quite impressive. Surprisingly, a Radisson breakfast included a whole smoked salmon and Champagne. 7/7 Would come again
A group of us visited Riga for the first time to attend a concert and were recommended to stay at Raddison Blu Elizabeth..! Outstanding service and warmth from the time we entered the premises. The staff were constantly reaching out to us and assisting us at every turn. There was never a negative answer.. They were always positive and helpful. The breakfast table was ample.. A mini feast! The concierge services was exceptional too! Highly recommended!
We were here with a Gate 1 Tour group for 2 nights. This was our favorite hotel of all the hotels on this 12-day trip. The hotel room is spacious and has full-length, long windows that open wide to the outside. This was the only room on our entire tour that was not smothering hot. The hot tea pot worked great for boiling water. The shower was fantastic. The hotel was huge but very quiet. The breakfasts were very good with plenty of offerings including bacon and made-to-order omelets and eggs. The location of this hotel is fantastic. Just a couple of seconds away is a traditional Latvian buffet/cafeteria-type restaurant with incredibly cheap prices. Many from our group ate here and loved it. One street behind the hotel and is a huge indoor mall (which is really neat to see actually). The mall has a big grocery store inside which sells wonderful hot olive bread and inexpensive liquors, beers, chocolates, and ciders. It is a 5 to 10 minute walk at the very most. Just a short walk down the same street of this hotel is the other Radisson with the Skybar and it's free to take the elevator up and take pictures. Pretty neat to do and we got some nice pics. The only thing the hotel needs to work on is the ice situation. They have an ice machine on every floor - fantastic! However, they have these tiny thin plastic cups so you get one tiny cup of ice at a time. My husband asked the front desk for an ice bucket and they said the bar would have one. He then asked the bar guy (after a long wait because there was one bartender with a full bar full of people around 3 or 4 in afternoon) and the bar guy said he didn't have any buckets so he gave him a bar glass - just a tad bit bigger than the plastic glasses the ice machines provide. I applaud Radisson for having the ice machines on every floor but can we not get some ice buckets in the rooms or at least by request from somewhere? We ended-up using our tea pot from the room and taking it to the ice machine and filling it with ice. This is the only reason for the 4, not 5 rating. Again, of the 10 nights we spent on the tour throughout the Baltics and Poland, this was our favorite hotel because we were never hot or cold. Loved those opening windows and the spacious, quiet room!
The Radisson Blu Elizabete Hotel was a treat to stay in. Prices were affordable for a visit in October. Rooms were spacious and clean. Amenities were nice. The restaurant offered a good, but simple selection of foods that would appeal to most people. They also offered a few selections of Latvian beers that were nice. Breakfast buffet had a nice variety of foods. Overall an enjoyable stay.
Good location. Near old town and restaurants. The staff were nice but not really friendly. Food was ok. Rooms were clean but the matress and pillows were too soft so could not get comfortable sleep. The windows looked out into the central courtyard and across other guest rooms so the curtains had to be closed most of the time for privacy
very comfy rooms. Great breakfasts. no pool or spa. films for free on the TV. would stay again if I to. Very accessible from the Old Town. easy to walk around the downtown area from here. good shopping locally.
There seems to be a dozen Radisson properties in Riga, and I will not pretend to have visited or stayed at all of them. I will offer this, the Radisson Blu Elizabete is a great business hotel, reasonably priced, and allows guests to all the amenities of a larger hotel without some of the "busy crowd" issues associated with larger properties - most of which are within an easy walk anyway (such as the Skyline Bar and spa in the Radisson Blu Latvija two blocks away). The Elizabete has superb rooms, and despite Riga traffic, is only 15 or so minutes from the airport. Being on the edge of Old Town, it both offers easy, walking access to that area while still providing a number of shops and eateries that cater to locals. Riga has a great public transit system, and possesses the easy walk-ability of many older European cities. Parking is available on the property at a discounted rate. Access to car service, taxis, and car hire is easy, and accomplished through a very attentive, competent, and pleasant front desk staff. Indeed, they merit special mention since at no time over the five day stay, regardless of who was on shift, did I ever find them anything other than helpful and reliable. The rooms are impeccably appointed - at a standard above that associated with the price point (at least the price during a rainy, cold, fall week). This has been a "go to" property for many of my business contacts, and it has become mine as well.
Good sized room with large walk in shower, excellent location, friendly staff and lots of choice at breakfast. Free wifi and toiletries restocked daily, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion so no need to pack anything. It was a bit busy at breakfast as conference season so everyone needed to be ready for 9am meetings. Great view of the city from their sister hotel down the road in the skyline bar.
The Radisson Blu is in a lovely location, near Old Town and across from a beautiful park. The rooms are spacious, with a great design. The breakfast buffet is excellent. It is a relaxing, first-calss experience.
Apparently recently renovated the hotel is beautifully appointed. Lovely furnishings, super fast new lifts, good Wi-Fi and lovely comfy bed and bedding. The bathroom is located in view of the bedroom shielded by an obscured glass door. If there is a criticism it is that it is not soundproof from the bedroom. The hotel is conveniently located within easy walking distance of the old town.
