The location is definitely the best thing about this hotel, it's very central, with easy access to both the old town center and the more modern areas, but not noisy at all. Our room was very large, with nice wooden furniture, though both it and the bathroom were a bit tired. Internet very strong. Breakfast was not amazing, and we decided to visit one of the many lovely bakeries and cafes' that were just around the corner instead. It was a fine base for our stay in the city, just not particularly beautiful or exciting.
We spent 4 nights bed & breakfast at the Hotel Man-Tess on our recent trip to Riga. The hotel is ideally situated in the Old Town, literally a couple of minutes walk away from the beautiful attractions that Riga has to offer. Our room was basic but was clean & tidy & included a shower, colour TV & free wi-fi! The breakfast was self service & was a choice of cereal, cheese's, sausage, scrambled egg, toast, jam, juices & tea or coffee. The staff were friendly & helpful & we had our room cleaned & towels changed every day. The road was a bit busy & you could hear people passing by late at night but I suppose that this happens in most towns & cities? For the price I paid for our stay at the Hotel Man-Tess I would describe it as extremely good value for money & would recommend it to anyone looking for a hotel to stay in at Riga that won't stretch your budget!
Really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The room was quite spacious, with a huge comfortable bed and a cute balcony with a great view. The hotel is located within easy reach of the main sights and places of interests (also across the street from the biggest Shopping Center in the Old Town). Friendly and helpful staff with a sense of humour.
The biggest plus of this hotel is its position, just several steps and you will get a big mall with supermarket on the 1st floor. Take products and put them into fridge (it's in the room and works perfect). Be ready that it can be cold in the room. The windows are big and don't protect from the noise outside. The street is too busy with walking crowds of tourists who are often too talkative and loud)) Unfortumately the TV didn't work and the Internet speed was low. Also the floor was not so clean. So if you just want to spend nights maybe this hotel will suit you. But it depends
What really did do a great impression to me about this hotel was the style. It really added some atmosphere that suited the old town, with the taste of luxury. There's gold fish in the reception as well as a budgie and floors of marble. Our rooms were on the top floor, very cozy and a nice view out on the roof tops. Very friendly staff, I'd gladly visit this hotel again.
Excellent location on the corner of a busy street, bang in the centre. Ideal for sightseeing Lovely big room for 3 people with comfy beds and windows to both sides. A very good selection at breakfast including cereals, porridge, cold meats and cheeses etc. Staff were really nice and happy to help out with directions to various places we wanted to visit, Easy walking distance to the railway station for our visit to the seaside at Jurmala.
I stay in a suite. Lot of space in the room. Friendly service and enough at breakfast. 10 minutes walk to the central market and the bus station. Hotel located in Old Town close to shop and restaurants.
The staff were friendly when we checked in, but the room we were given was tiny. Apparently wed accidentally reserved an economy room - make sure you don't choose this option as the room is very small. The wardrobe can't even be opened as the bed is in the way! However, we asked at reception if they had any other rooms available and they were really helpful, showing two other, larger room for us to choose. They didn't even charge us the full upgrade price. The larger room was good, as was the breakfast, but the staff stood out.
We were here for four nights in November last year. Hotel is very traditional and we were lucky to be in a room at the front of the hotel. Lovely big room and the bed - a huge four poster was so comfy! Staff were friendly and helpful. We were only bed and breakfast and the breakfast was not great but was enough to set you up for the day although children I think would struggle - mainly toast with cheese, ham and quite a bit of cold fish! From a location point of view could not be better - right in the middle of the old town and within walking distance of everything,.
The owner of the place was absolutely delicious and very informed about her town and country and one of the lady who served breakfast was also very nice. But the rest of the staff was quite unfriendly. Apart from that the room are overheated and we had to keep the window opened in order to be able to sleep, it would be great to have radiator thermostat for each room. Rooms are spotlessly clean but a little old. The location is excellent and one can walk absolutely everywhere in Riga from the hotel. All in all good value for money.
