We had a small but cosy room to the street. Everything was clean and proper. Small TV but hey we where there to see the city not to watch TV. Nice latvian breakfast (fish salad is not my favourite choice for breakfast but thats a personal thing...). The stuff at the reception was very helpful and gave good recommendations.
I stayed in a mini suite with friends. We loved this little gem of a hotel! It was a characterful quirky lovely place, full of little surprises in its decor. Loved it and would recommend it highly. Staff were friendly, the breakfast included a nice variety, the location perfect for discovering the 'Old' City of Riga. Can be a little noisy if your windows look to the street and left open overnight but I was happy to shut my window and enjoyed a good night's sleep. Only regret: not trying out the sauna. If you want to use it, make sure to tell Reception in advance do they can fire it up for you.
What a gem of a hotel in Riga. It is very well located, just behind the Dome Cathedral and close to the Dome Square where every night you could listen to music and have a drink. The rooms were spacious and very clean with a comfortable bed. You do have to sleep with your windows closed because of the music and voices from outside but that is not an issue! The breakfast buffet offered a great variety of food.
Central location, very clean, friendly English speaking staff and a good breakfast buffet. Rooms had a little style with wood beams and exposed brick and it was a large room by European standards what else do you need?
Room was nice and clean. We had some noisy neighbors and there is not much noise-reduction in the walls, but besides that everything was as expected. Breakfast was ok. The best part was the location, as next door neighbor of the best restaurant in Riga.
Our first time in Latvia we were travelling with friends to a wedding deep in the Latvian countryside. We had just one night in this city centre boutique hotel, before heading south to Kandava. Despite slightly less than friendly reception staff we quickly located our rooms; large, clean, nicely furnished with slightly dated carpet designs, they were very welcome after our flight. Latvia in a sunny June is wonderful and this hotel is perfectly located to explore the old city both at night and in the daytime. Breakfast was fresh, local and tasty, and the dining room delightful with its exposed brickwork and pictures of the sky! Better coffee would improve things but we were heading out to explore this wonderful city. If we return to Riga we will stay here again, indeed we might return in order to stay here again.
Hotel Justus was a happy experience. We were able to walk here from the bus station. It is in the heart of Old Town with unique design and décor. Comfortable, quiet and charming. Breakfast excellent with incredible variety (including Riga's famous pickled veggies and meats).
Always stay here on first and last night when visiting family in Latvia. Great hotel for the money, central location for Old town riga, clean rooms, good breakfast, friendly helpful staff make our stays enjoyable
Stayed two nights during a 10-day Baltic tour. Room was very clean, staff was helpful and attentive, breakfast was adequate, very convenient location on the periphery of Old Town. On the third floor we had to navigate two steps to reach our room from the elevator (not a problem for us), but could be for some guests - although there were other rooms on the third floor that were level with the elevator - just ask ahead if mobility is an issue. If we return to Riga we would probably stay somewhere else just for a different location and experience - not because of any dissatisfaction with the hotel.
Set in Old Town with a friendly staff, recommended for visitors. Great breakfast and spacious room- drawback was that the shower (maybe designed for a wheelchair?) didn't keep the water from going all over the floor. TV was a little spotty but wifi worked fine. Close to many restaurants and House of Blackheads and other sites. Breakfast was great with a wide assortment. Quaint little bar in the back was a great place for happy hour!
