It was my second stay at this hotel. I stayed there five years ago and I liked it so much that decided to choose it again. It is Olde Worlde but very comfortable place with many wood pieces. It is an impression that you live in the era of Gutenberg but with TV and hot water) The staff is very polite and helpful. All of them speak English and as I've understood also German. Breakfast is very good and a dining room looks like a restorant. Hotel is in an extremely good location on the Dome square. It takes only five-ten minutes to reach most of the attractions and about 30 minutes walk to railway station. I think it's a best choice for Riga stay.
Stay was really good and I was positively impressed by the style because I like the 80's athmosphere. Staff is friendly and both girls (especially Paula) were very helpful and always smiling. Rooftop restaurant with view of the cathedral is amazing and food + service great! Unfortunately I stayed only for 2 night but if I will return to Riga this hotel will be, FOR SURE, my first choice.
We love this hotel! Everything you need within easy walking distance of many interesting places to see, cafes, museums, market, shops etc. We had a night at the Opera House which cost us 15 euros each for seats and was the most memorable time in our whole trip. The hotel staff are always polite and helpful, and breakfasts are amazing. The room was comfortable, clean and warm. The hotel itself is a lovely old building with lots of character and beautifully furnished. We will be back!
The hotel is located next to the Dome, in the very heart of the Old City. A lot of restaurants in the radius of 2-3 minutes of walking, but only one is adjacent to the hotel itself, and without any place for tables outside, so no noise should be expected even on summer. Pleasant an clean rooms, nice communication areas. The staff is young, fluent in English and always ready to help/advise. Attractive prices, at least in this season. We paid 530 dollars for 2 rooms x 4 nights. The breakfast was excellent, with rich assortment and surprisingly good coffee. Liked every moment of stay there.
Amazing service, great food, super common areas, basic room that had everything you could want. The hotel is a great deal at about 100 euros a night and is perfectly situated off main tourist areas but on a quite cute street.
This is a centrally located hotel on the edge of Riga old town. Rooms were comfortable with tea and coffee facilities. There is a roof terrace/bar. Buffet breakfast was excellent and well worth the money. All the staff were helpful and spoke English. All the major bars and restaurants were a 5/10 minute walk from the hotel. Suggest buying a 3 day travel pass which can be used on trams, trolley buses and buses for 10 euros. This can be bought at the tourist office and allows tourists to visit the major sites.
This hotel is old world charm to the max even with slanted floors and low beams which could be head bonkers for the unwary. Since it is very central there is no need for a guided tour from here--everything is within easy walking distance. The top floor restaurant us a must, even though the deck is open during good weather it appears to be usable during inclement weather. Breakfasts were very good and the staff friendly and helpful. Ideally located. Would definitely stay again.
We stayed for 3 nights, 8 'lads' in 4 twin rooms, all the rooms were a good size and with lots of character. Hotel was in a great location close to city centre. Great Hotel, Great Breakfast and very friendly service would definitely use again if back in Riga
Nicely decorated public spaces and nice rooms (in an old fashioned way), very professional staff and very nice breakfast. Did not use the rooftop restaurant but I'm sure that's very nice too. This hotel is in the old town so we expected some noise and chatter at night. However... the hotel is opposite a bar (note, a street level bar, not a basement nightclub) that has a DJ on Fridays and Saturdays playing thumping music until 3am. In a room down the side of the hotel it's an annoyance e.g. you can't open the window. In a room at the front it's like being in a tent at a festival. While not the hotel's fault it was a big downside to our stay.
The hotel breathes history, with a touch of class. Location is very central, in the city centre with all hotspots at walking distance. Clean, good bed an good breakfast. Curious thing we asked for our car returned 'in an hour' from valet parking turned out it was blocking the street for almost half an hour. Anyway, good value for money and very comfortable.
