A very charming old style hotel in the perfect location. A quiet top notch neighbourhood surrounded by parks within a 15 Euro taxi ride from the airport. Walking distance to the old town. Attentive and professional yet casual service. When checking our passports they noticed it was my birthday and served me a lovely piece of cake at breakfast. The a la carte breakfast is a true highlight of the hotel. Two small details for constructive criticism: I find it completely unnecessary to completely change the bed linen during a stay of two nights. And while it is nice to be given the opportunity for a smoke on the balcony, ashtrays should be emptied and cleaned from time to time.
We celebrated one year anniversary and were so pleased with everything. Excellent service and lovely environment. We truly recommend this hotel if you want a little luxury in your life. Especially the breakfast! Best regards Corneliussons.
Great hotel with perfect location for both the old town and the art nuveau district, really nice rooms, outstanding services and very friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast and very reasonable prices. Great value for money
Newly renovated, but gorgeous old building with very classic interior. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very nice. Room was spacious with a good bed. And nicely situated max 10 minutes walk from the very center of the old town. Don't miss out on taking the stairs and view the painting at the top.
We enjoyed our stay at this charming hotel. The hotel is lovely and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. The fourth floor room was a little odd (with only skylights), but this did not hinder our stay.
A mansion that belonged to the Fanger family of Riga in the 1890's - and after several re-incarnations over many years, today the Gallery Park Hotel and Spa (part of the Chateaux Group of hotels) was a wonderful ending to our travels through Latvia and Lethuania. Beautifully appointed pieces of Art Deco furniture in the lobby and in halls of its four stories and 27 rooms, the hotel hasbeautiful wooden staircases and paneled walls, period wallpaper, a 24-hour bar, two dining rooms. The spa in the basement floor has a large swimming pool and two saunas. Their use is included in the cost of the room. The massages - a variety - have to be requested two hours beforehand. The rooms are decorated beautifully, the beds big and comfortable. The rooms have large and difficult to get into bathtubs. The spa has large-head showers. The breakfast, included, is ala-carta and the service very personalized. Delicious baked goods and breads. Excellent coffee.
Nice hotel near to all the tourist sites you would want to visit. It is all within walking distance but there is also a very good tram service if you decide to use this. We booked direct with the hotel website for 2 adults and 2 children and was offered the standard room which stated an extra bed or cot could be provided upon request. We requested both. A week before flying out we received a phone call to say the room wasn't suitable for 2 children (despite offering us to book the room with 2 children) and they wouldn't provide an extra bed. Numerous calls and emails later, with us refusing to pay an extra €400 to upgrade rooms, to the point we had contacted the credit card company to initiate a claim to recover our money, the hotel finally honoured what was advertised on it's website. Once this issue was resolved the stay was very enjoyable. The room was large with a comfy king sized bed for us and appropriate beds for our 2 children. Lovely underfloor heating in the bathroom. The breakfast had buffet cereals, croissants, yogurts and then al a carte cold meats, cooked breakfasts, pancakes etc. All delicious. The spa was overpriced and there's a salon up the road where we went for massages. The pool in the hotel was freezing, to the point we couldn't brave the water. It was disappointing as the pool had been a selling point for us with the children. We didn't eat in the hotel for lunch or dinner as the menus weren't really suitable for young children but 2 buildings down is a lovely Italian restaurant called Amarone. Delicious food. The hotel is on a busy crossroads and there is slight traffic noise in the room but not enough to disturb ours or the children's sleep. Unfortunately during our visit there was work going on to the pavement and one night we were woken at 2am by diggers & drilling up the pavement outside. Obviously not the hotels fault but they clearly don't have rules about noise disturbance at night in Latvia. Overall a lovely hotel which we would recommend.
We arrived in Riga at night hoping to find dinner around 9pm and the Gallery Park Hotel staff were very accommodating. This hotel has lovely historical art as you walk up the lovely stairs, and our room at the top was spacious with very nice roof windows that were a feature. Breakfast in the dining room was a highlight with many different types of fresh produce and we enjoyed our two days there. The staff were very professional and accommodating, and we enjoyed talking to Anastasia about hospitality. Riga is very pretty and the old town was wonderful to see when we walked in from the hotel, and took a tour on one of the small coaches that departs outside the main church, which was also very spiritual. There's also a very good Italian restaurant next to the Gallery Park Hotel which had some of the best food we've had outside Italy. Thanks to the outstanding management and staff of the Gallery Park Hotel - we enjoyed true 5 star accommodation and service.
The top floor rooms are large and comfortable but have only roof windows. However OK for one night. Rooms lower down are more historically furnished. There is a nice small garden for sitting. The location is good - not far to walk to the old town and close to the renovated Art gallery. Breakfast is good. Staff are friendly.
Pompous yes, but the room was not good. It had a good size but no windows, just a skylight. The TV was not in front of the bed or of the seats! A stiff neck for sure. The gym was really not up to par and the the pool was freezing! Good location and good breakfast. If there is a promotion, OK, for full price, shop around...
