booked through lucky dip holiday on woucher, at best this is a student hotel, however the room was warm and quite. Staff were very helpful and they have a deal with local taxi firms for set rates to old town £3. euro and £ to Airport. we didn't eat at the hotel as we had so much to see in Riga itself

Clean and tidy room with a good hot shower. Breakfast at 5 euro is decent value. There are quite a few negatives though I'm afraid. Shower cubicle is quite small so I bashed my elbow a couple of times. I also nearly caused a flood as the water wasn't draining very well. The TV in the room is barely larger than an I-pad and there is no coffee making facility in the room. As I say breakfast good value but I do think this is the first time I've been aware of the kitchen making an omelette in a microwave. Lastly be careful of the location it's a bit out of the main town and the taxi driver warned us not to walk the streets after dark.

On our way to the hotel, we were wondering where the damn we were going because the surrounding area was looking crumbling and abandoned (we discovered later it was the old Jewish ghetto, so nothing to worry about, indeed, go and visit!) but when we arrived at the hotel it was a pleasant surprise. The exterior presented itself very well, and as soon as you get in it looks quite modern, which defers with the surrounding area. Staff was very friendly and polite, and they all speak a good English. We arrived before the check-in time but they let us leave our luggage in the hotel while they finished making the room. In the meantime, we went to eat at a place the receptionist suggested us, and we will be forever thankful for that suggestion because we loved that place and we ended up eating there for all our stay in Riga (it was Lido). They were very helpful for the tram as well, and when we checked out they asked us if needed a taxi to be called. Our room was tiny but comfortable and clean. Free wi-fi was working well. For a small fee of €5 per person, you could have buffet breakfast. There was not much choice if you want to go for a Mediterranean breakfast but there was actually a lot to eat: milk, coffee, tea, sausages, ham, toasts, tomatoes, jam, eggs. I definitely recommend this hotel to everyone.

We Stayed at hotel dodo in September 2017. very comfortable room we had a lovely stay and a nice continent breakfast In the morning. Would definitely stay again. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wishes to come to Riga.

Too small room, bed too small for 2. Shower is squeezed in toilette size, so u beat against walls and doors if you want turn around. Too dirty shower. There is black mold all around the shower cabin, and even on shower gel container. No fresh air. Room feels dusty. No minibar, no airconditioner. Feels more like a hostel. Need renovation and cleaning!

We were staying in Riga for a short weekend break and we chose Dodo hotel. We really liked it - a very helpful receptionist, clean rooms - small but cosy, just everything that you may need, new and modenr furniture, loads of towels. Good breakfast - not much variety but it's ok. Our daughter especially loved pancakes with jam (4 or 5 kinds). Plus for location - tram stop is very close and you can reach the city centre in 5 minutes. Overall, a good choice for a family who decides to visit Riga.

Stayed here with 9 friends. This place is basic. Rooms were really small and cold. The hotel was generally clean, check in was easy and it has local shop outside which is handy. The only reason I gave this hotel 4 out of 5 is that the receptionist was amazing, I completely forgot to ask her name, but she was so lovely and gave us all the information we needed.

Hotel was exactly as expected. Location from the city center is quite good, just a short ride. Taxi is really cheap there, firstly we took tram to the city center (4 eur for 2 persons), on the way back we took a taxy (2 eur for a ride), so better to move around with taxi - cheaper and more comfy. Rooms are small, but cute and clean. Sound isolation is not that good and if room windows are to the street and window is opened, then it can get quite loud. First night couldnt fall asleep because outside some people were chilling half of the night. Second night was good and had a good sleep. Car can be parked right next to the hotel on the street, free of charge. Staff is incredible - very friendly and helpful. I had to change the dates of my booking several times on a last minute and there was no problem because of that.

The hotel is a modern building in a more dated area of Riga. The staff are all very friendly and speak very good English - they are always willing to help and offer good advice on the area/shops. There is a newsagent type shop just 15 metres from the front of the hotel and the staff here too are very helpful (English not so good - but a point and smile approach works well). We were a Stag do that were interested in all the activities that Riga offers but didn't want to be staying in the more popular X-Dream hotel - and we are glad that we didn't. The rooms we had were all clean, simple and had ensuite showers (always with warm water). Each room had a small TV, but you could get BBC world news and few other English language channels. Behind reception it was possible to purchase a few drinks - Beer, spirits and a cheap bottle of bubbly - they also had big bottles of Water which were life savers for the morning after. Breakfast was simple but sufficient - not really a full English, but there was a decent selection for most tastes. If you are booking in to this hotel then be prepared to need lifts in to Old Town from either activity providers (as we did through Chillisauce) or from Taxis (3 Euros for a 3 person car or 15 for a minibus type thing). Finally, the area was safe and quiet - we didn't feel unsafe or worried at any point during our trip, simply by just using some common sense and not going to anywhere you wouldn't normally go anyway. The hotel is brilliant for a simple base and sufficient accommodation.

Stayed here while on a stag do/long weekend in Riga as part of a group of 20 lads. Hotel is located in a rundown part of town with few amenities however a taxi ride to the Freedom Monument (centre of town) is only €3, the hotel doesnt have a bar but in reception there are vending machines and outside the entrance is a small shop. Rooms are basic but this is reflected in the price, same as the breakfast which is nothing fancy but is good enough to keep you going until you hit the town. The staff on the front desk are very polite and the nice young lady (I didnt catch her name) was always happy to help us and didnt mind giving us directions or arranging taxis for our group. A word of caution, this place wasnt wild as such but I think this hotel caters for a lot of Stag/Hen party's so if planning on a romantic or family getaway this place might not be for you as there is a fair chance of being disturbed by people returning after a very late night out.
