Small, clean economy class hotel. The bet in the room was uncomfortable. Hotel is not close to the centre ir town. We used a bus No 3 to reach Ryga center. Breakfast - average, poor choise. There is a small place for car parking.
The hotel was overbooked when I arrived. Was referred to another hotel. (Augustina) Baltpark had given information to this hotel that I should check out 29/4 while my booking was for 30/4. This meant I had to change hotels again.. The whole trip was flushed. Terje
Let's start with positive things: it's clean (or the visible parts are) and the staff is friendly. Unfortunately, it's outdated and has several disturbing things. The electric sockets are hanging loose, bathroom has no drain and every little noise comes through the thin walls and windows. Breakfast was ok but I strongly recommend you to eat in a real restaurant.
We booked this hotel due to price, and should have really known better! The pictures on the website do not portray the worn state of this hotel, nor the general poor state of the bathrooms and beds. There was mold in the shower cubicles, hairs and a lot of dust about the beds and the carpets are quite stained. I had a street facing room, which was terribly noisy. There was double glazing, which was poorly fitted- I opened the windows and noticed no difference in noise levels! Breakfast was basic and the staff are generally functional, but not overly friendly. It is a considerable distance to old town and the neighbourhood does not inspire one to take an evening stroll. Wifi was poor and slow. I have given it two stars rather than one as you basically can't expect a great deal for the price.
The hotel is clean, quiet and cheap. From the advertising you'd think its a lot plusher than it actually is but that's advertising for you. The pool has gone, the jacuzzi is empty, the sauna is locked. Saying that, the rooms are clean, the beds are comfy. No kettle in the room, the wifi is intermittent. I'd stay here again but I'd lower my expectations next time. Al in all. It was ok.
There are also more advanced rooms in Baltpark Hotel, for example, romantic room. On the roof is also sauna with a bath. A glass room for some 20 people is also on the roof. And, besides that - a separate tee drinking room for some 5 people. Totally there are 50 rooms available in Baltpark Hotel. Prices are friendly with possibility to make a deals for the groups. On a good weather days - it would be good place to organize parties on the roof, till some 50 people, maybe?
Stayed here in January. Room was adequate but basic in terms of size and amenities. Clean and reasonably comfortable. Shower was hot and powerful. No wardrobe just a basic rack with coat hangers. Breakfast was good and Marija the receptionist was helpful. Quite far from the old town though. Better to look for an apartment as there are plenty in Riga for the same price.
Nice restaurant and facilities on the top of the building (sauna, living-room). The first room assigned had a problem with the door lock. The staff kindly changed the room as we noticed them. The second room assigned had no shower box (water flowing on all the bathroom floor). To use free wi-fi it is necessary to post hotel-advertising on facebook (every time you connect).
I booked my room 2 days in advance - I said my flight lands around 12 o`clock at night, then customs +taxi trip to your hotel, I will be in hotel latest 1 o`clock. When I arrived I was told they sold my room because I`m late, "you said you will be around 11 o`clock". 99% somebody walked in and offered just few more Euros and they gave it away or operator is half deaf. When I expressed my dissapointment, they offered Lux or 3 room apartment for much higher price, which I refused. Pathetic, zero customer service and appaling business practice. Steer clear of scammers like them. I had to get taxi and drive around city until I found other hotel and it was already 2 o`clock at night.
Room was a little small, but basic. Small tv and fridge. 45 minute walk to old town. Bus goes from downtown to hotel. Breakfast had good variety. Staff was average. I heard some noise early in the morning, either from breakfast being set up or a tv.
