So quiet and very comfortable

If you sit by the window you can watch all the wild life go by , we saw turkeys, deer, peacocks and lots of chipmunks! No A/C but we had a great cooler and lots of fans. Such a mice break from the crowds!

Hands down the best rental I’ve ever had while traveling. Plenty of accommodation with heaters, wood stove, windows that have us the perfect breeze, a great size fridge and even an oven! Had a few questions for the owners and got a response within the hour. I will absolutely be booking again, everything was perfect from the remote location to how spotless and cozy the place was.

Nice isolated cabin

It was just as advertised. Any minor inconvenience was clearly stated in the description. The price was right, the view was wonderful and the location to OURAY was perfect. Only complaint was very low water pressure, but it was definitely manageable. Highly recommend!

Peaceful stay!

Loved the remote feel even though it was not far from the road. The view from the bedroom was spectacular. The cabin had everything we needed and was very peaceful.

Location, Location and Location

Location, location and location is the commonly know key to real estate and this property is no different. It is located halfway between Ouray and Ridgway, Colorado behind a hill in such a way that it can not be seen from the highway. You can not hear any of the noise from the highway. The cabin is fine for two people and the only small nit I have to pick with it that the bedroom is upstairs while the bathroom/shower is downstairs. It was nice to discover that there was a new flatscreen TV downstairs and also a handrail next to the stairs going to the bedroom. Also had wild turkeys roaming through the yard a couple of times a day. We look forward to staying here again.

Turkey Time in Ridgway

Four Merriam’s tom turkeys came to visit every evening. A nice 5x5 Miley stopped by. No bears. Lots of cloud cover all week in Ouray, but was warm and sunny in Montrose. Every time we started to head to a hot spring we heard thunder. We found other fun things to do including the Black Canyon NP.

This was our third time at this cabin. We enjoyed the beautiful location and it's isolation but missed the donkies that used to live near by.

Rustic Getaway- good time

Celebrating 30+ years in a small secluded rustic cabin, we were mostly thrilled. Opening the freezer to find a container of chocolate Hagaan Daas ice cream welcomed us with smiles! There is no AC, but the owners had the box fans going downstairs and oscillating fan going upstairs. The view of the Rocky mountains from the bedroom window was fantastic.If the oak brush were trimmed back low, the view could have been enjoyed from the main level. We would have eaten outside, but the picnic table needs to be replaced. The instructions on trash removal were unclear, so we hauled it out ourselves. We were pleased with the kitchen set up, coffee, paper towels, etc. We even saw wild turkeys along with energetic chipmunks. We would come back. Thanks for opening up your cabin for rent.

Happy return visit

This was a return visit for my husband and me. The cabin is simple, but meets our needs. The view from upstairs is the best part. It’s oh so quiet and lovely outdoors. We love Ouray and this is a great location for us.

Secluded Cabin - 4 miles from Downtown Ouray and Ridgeway

Really nice secluded Cabin - 4 miles from Downtown Ouray and Ridgeway and close to Orvis Hot Springs. We really enjoyed our stay and the stunning mountain view from the bedroom. Host was extremely helpful and informative. We probably will return to the location.

Romantic Getaway

We had a lovely time staying in the cabin. We woke up each morning to turkeys hanging out which was super cute. Its 5 mins from Orvis Hot Springs which is a lovely (nude) hot spring. The property itself has a huge window overlooking the mountains from bed! We loved it. I did not read the description about not having heat LOL but we made due and kept plenty warm with the wood stove. I had too many things plugged in upstairs and the power went out but someone came by in the AM to fix it and it wasn't a big deal to sleep without the TV or lights. Thanks so much for everything! PS: Follow the instructions given by the agency when they reach out. If you go on the VRBO app it will direct you to possibly 3 different addresses that are not the accurate ones. :)

The place was beautiful. Views from the windows and picnic bench were breath taking. Cabin was very cozy. Only noises we could hear were birds. Just the right size for the two of us. Loved seeing the wild turkeys walk by.

Second time booking this cabin. If you are going when there is snow on the ground you 100% need 4 wheel drive!!!! They tell you that in the description because it is true. We love the views and the cabin like feeling of this place. Also you may see random wild turkeys.

Quiet with dark skies and great views

Right size for a couple. Natural ventilation of opening and closing windows worked OK for us for some warm August days and cool nights. Worked well as a base for visiting nearby hiking trails by Ouray, Ridgway and Telluride. Did not like the calendar promoting the NRA.

Great location & amazing wildlife

This cabin isn't luxurious by any means, but it was quite nice! Location is very quiet and private, with loads of critters running through the property from time to time: wild turkeys, rabbits, chipmunks, squirrels, deer, etc. Thanks for sharing your home with us!

Perfect retreat!

If you're looking for a quiet secluded place to stay near Ouray, this is it! Perfect for my husband & I! We saw wild turkeys every day and many "friendly" chipmunks. I can see how it might be tricky to get to in the winter, but it was a wonderful place to spend a few much needed days away from the hustle and bustle of life!
