Lyons Holiday Park is a great site with plenty of activities for adults and children, both indoors and outdoors with good food options. However, I would not recommend booking through this particular host.
Communication was extremely difficult. Only email was available, and the phone number provided did not work—even for Hotels.com staff. On arrival, the caravan assigned to me had not been cleaned and was in an unhygienic, unacceptable condition. As the booking was non‑refundable, I was initially at risk of losing the full amount, and the host’s responses were slow and unhelpful.
Another issue was that access to amenities and the pool was not included, and this was not clearly stated in the advert. This felt misleading and unfair. For anyone planning a trip to North Wales, I strongly recommend booking directly with Lyons Holiday Park. Their prices are lower, amenities are included, and the caravans are properly managed.
Fortunately, Lyons had availability, and I was able to book a cleaner and cheaper caravan directly with them, which made the holiday enjoyable. The stressful part was dealing with the refund process for the original booking. Hotels.com eventually refunded me the value of my new booking, but I still lost time and experienced unnecessary hassle during my holiday.
Overall, Lyons Holiday Park itself is excellent value, offering natural beauty and good entertainment. My negative experience was solely due to this host’s poor comms and the condition of the caravan
