I left a cosmetic bag and a shirt in the room and discovered at home a couple of hours later. They disappeared.... No comment.
Some of these reviews are a bit harsh, the customer service is very good, we arrive after 11.30pm and the receptionist could not be of more help. The rooms were fine, but looks a little dirty, on closer inspection they were clean but the carpet choice makes it look a bit dirty. The only problem we had was that ever time we turned the kettle on it tripped the electric in the room which meant at 2am when I needed to make a milk for our baby I had to go down and get the night porter to reset it, (this happened two more times) Other than that, the breakfast was amazing and staff were fabulous! For a three star hostel it was fine!
Upon arrival at the hotel the staff behind reception were lovely, check in was fast and we were offered a complimentary welcome drink and told that we had a free upgrade to one of the superior rooms. After getting out of the lift on our floor there was a very strong smell of smoke and the corridors were dark, depressing and had chips, scratches and marks all over the walls (not a great start) we entered the room and were not impressed. (I would hate to see the standard room we were originally supposed to be in!)The first thing we noticed was how dark and gloomy the rooms are.. decor was awful. Mark’s on the carpets/all over the walls. Looking at the door I felt like I was in a cell. There was a huge gap at the bottom of the door which meant we heard every noise, door, conversation etc from the moment we got there and throughout the night. The noise was awful and meant that we couldn’t get a great sleep (although the bed was comfy at least!). We woke in the morning and immediately booked into the radisson for the remainder of our stay. Upon checking out we weren’t asked the question of why we were checking out early so maybe they are used to people doing this? The rooms we were in could seriously do with a facelift, so disappointing. Avoid!
Dirty, outdated and dark rooms with bad smell in the room and on the floor, poor quality breakfast and no parking (at least during my stay)... Slowest W-Lan on the planet . . .
Seriously just don’t go here. The pictures are very deceiving. If you’re used to any level of cleanliness just go elsewhere. I think one side of the hotel is renovated and that’s why there are mixed reviews. The rooms are deliberately dark, the carpets are nearly black, threadbare, and musky-smelling. I’m pretty sure everything is dark to hide what could be walking around on the floor next to you. Just don’t stay at this place. I’ve stayed at small, cheap hotels before that are a million times cleaner than this. I walked-in tried to wrap my head around staying here, couldn’t do it, and walked out.
No check-in early.. Up 14:00 and when I arrived there at 14:30 they said to me I must wait.. they didn’t know how long.. Half hour, one hour.. i make it finally at 16:00! The room was very small.. No refrigerator in the room.. The bathroom very small and without ventilation or fan.. I really don’t recommend this hotel..
The women on reception were pleasant and happy to help unlike the man I encountered who wasn't and began hissing at me which was really annoying. Apparently I had the biggest room in the hotel which was a nice size but oddly had 2 single beds together instead of a double or larger. And the shower didn't drain very well which led to the toilet not flushing. Other than that the hotel is nice and the rooms have lovely decor
Room was ok and cofrotable, bathroom a little bit outdated. Meeetings rooms and food catering was all very good.Good bar location for the evening. Friendly perssonel and ideal location in the city center of Mannheim.
Much like the Wyndham in Hannover this hotel is showing its age. Even after a renovation this hotel has issues. The bathroom has a lack of counter space and a old tall bath tub. The lobby is unique as it doubles as the bar....
This hotel is a strange mixture. It has very nice furniture in the lobby and in the rooms, but everything else is quite bad. When entering the room, I had immediately the feeling to be in a cheap hostel. In the bathroom the water was nearly stuck in the sink, and the shower head was leaking on all sides, while two of the fours spot lights from the bathroom didn't work. The room I was in (first floor using the lift in the back part) was also very noisy, especially hearing all the noises from people walking and talking on the floor in the night or in the morning. Breakfast was good, but turn your head away from the huge holes in the ceiling of the breakfast rooms.
