Disliked: Cleanliness
The host cancelled last minute. I sent a message via VRBO app 14 hours before just to touch base with him. He didn’t respond. When I called him to let him know we would be getting in late, he told me the house is not functional. He was apologetic. But left us high and dry. We searched all the hotels in Reykjavík and all were full due to the pride parade happening. I tried calling him back to help settle this with VRBO and he ghosted me. I’m sure he’s a nice guy. But sleeping at the airport left me a bit bitter.

Unfortunately the host did not keep up the property, there was oil food in the pots, kitchen draws, oven and all around the kitchen. He had told us he left everything we needed out in the kitchen but nothing was clean, we also did not have cutlery or plates left out and when we got them out the drawers they were dirty with bits of food still stuck on it. We had to wash everything we used before hand to make sure it was safe to use. The whole property as a whole was unhygienic, the floors were filthy and the bathroom was not cleaned at all! We were also not aware that we would be sharing the house with the host as well as their dependant that he made sleep in the living room. This made it hard to get up in the morning and be around in the evening as the living room and kitchen were an open floor together. With only one bathroom we had to time our wake ups correctly so we had the bathroom free for us to use. As two young women sharing this with a grown man we felt unsettled and were not prepared for our stay, having not realised we had to share it with him. It was really disappointing that we had to leave to another accommodation mid way our stay so paying for the full week we were meant to stay. It made it difficult.

Great hotel alternative

Me and my boyfriend had a good stay at this property. It has parking for anyone hiring a car. The host was great, offering breakfast and lifts if needed. There was a language barrier but anyone who is not Spanish can just use google translate and it is easy enough. We had full use of his flat including the kitchen etc. Cheaper alternative to hotels and a nicer option than hostels.

AprĂšs avoir lu un avis oĂč la personne disait qu’elle avait du partager l’appartementavec ave. le loueur et son fils, j’ai contactĂ© le loueur et il m’a confirmĂ© que nous devrons faire avec leur prĂ©sence.Trop tard pour annuler et reserver autre chose sans frais, nous sommes donc arrivĂ©s.Points positifs:L’appartement est Ă  10 minutes en voiture du centre de .Toujours de la place pour se garer.L’appartement Ă©tant toujours non fermĂ© Ă  clef, on peut arriver et partir Ă  n’importe quelle heure. Le loueur et son fils sont trĂšs discrets et serviables . Les 2 chambres et l’appartement est assez grand et tres bien chauffĂ©s. La cuisine, la salle de bain sont disponibles Ă  votre convenance.Vous avez accĂšs a internet de l’appartement.Il est fourni des serviettes.Le prix, moins de 100 la nuit.Points nĂ©gatifs :Malheureusement, ce n’est pas notĂ© dans l’annonce le fait de partager l’appartement et ça c’est pas sĂ©rieux et pas honnĂȘte du tout.Comme nous prenons leurs chambres, ils dorment dans le salon. Donc ne pas trop faire de bruit le soir et le matin.L'appartement est sale. Les chambres un peu plus propres mais la cuisine est trĂšs sale avec des petites bĂȘtes qui se baladent sur le plan de travail et le sol.Bref ce serait bien si l'annonce Ă©tait correctement rĂ©digĂ©e et l'appartement plus propre
