Our room was nice and the view was great. Location is wonderful. When we dined at the hotel restaurant, however, there was a band playing in the adjacent banquet area (both outdoors) and it was extremely loud and the play was very amateurish. The food was very tasty and well presented, but the music ruined our dinner. Also, we ordered two glasses of wine, but 10 minutes passed and they didn't come, so we reminded the waiter. Another 10 minutes passed, they still didn't come (we almost finished eating), so we reminded the waiter again, and they finally came. As we were afraid of, he put three pairs (six glasses) on our bill! He took out one pair, but refused to take the second pair, off the bill, for some unknown reason (he didn't say anything, just refused). Finally, the manager came and corrected the bill. Not a very fun experience.
The good: The Banquet hall, which is very spacious, neat and laced with modern facilities. The pool, which is very scenic and well kept. The restaurant, which has a good view and delicious food. The average: The reception and lobby, which is modern and very accessible. The room which is a bit cramped and the furniture which is quite old. Other than that, the hotel is in a very serene locality and the staff is quite courteous and friendly.
We were a group of friends that went to this Hotel on a Saturday evening for a drink. Many of us noticed how rude and impolite the receptionist was, she should really understand that she is working in a hotel meaning; the client comes first and should be treated with a bit of respect!! We were sitting outside close to their restaurant which was empty. An old man working in the restaurant said that a waiter from the bar will come and take our order as it's not his job task. It took a while for our ordered drinks and snacks to come so I went to the old man working in the empty restaurant who were sitting doing nothing.. I asked about our order and the answer was: the bartender is a trainee/apprentice so it might take time and that once again we should go directly to him. Ok..I went to see him and he was all by himself preparing our drinks and apologized and said that the drinks were coming ASAP! as I saw how hard he struggled I let him do his job without giving him a hard time. We all noticed that the young trainee on this evening was the bartender, taking orders inside and outside the bar and serving the drinks. So the hotel manager is letting a young trainee/apprentice doing all this by himself on a Saturday evening (while the restaurant employee was sitting doing nothing in a empty restaurant..bravo) this brave young man is probably doing this for a "low apprentice salary" which is not much in France. Hands up for this young man as he was doing his job perfectly without any help...We will never visit this hotel again as we were all so upset to see the way this young man was treated and because of the rude receptionist!
We had a great stay here. It is a little far from the city but was perfect for us as we just lounged by the pool all day! The Mercure provided a free shuttle bus for us from the airport. They also let us use the pool and shower facilities after we checked out while waiting for our late evening flight.
The hotel is great and the view of the Indian Ocean magnificient. The restaurant is very good with great curries and various european style items (highly recommend the Thursday night, wood oven cooked, flamkuch). But my room...what to say...dark, smells like humidity, tiny...looking at the floor map...one of the only ones in the hotel looking at the parking lot and the kitchens... Would go again...but not in that room!
Nice room, in range with this hotel brand and quite good otherwise. They do have this brilliant swimming pool with a view and the all city and bay. The rooms are good, the food is good but the pool makes the rest all together better.
A classical Mercure hotel with all what it means: neither bad nor good surprises. The hotel a large swimming pool. View from the rooms on the city and the ocean is nice. The hotel is convenient to reach Saint-Denis airport. Overall, welcoming staff. Easy parking. Service at the restaurant was courteous, but (too) slow. Some room renovation, especially for the bathrooms should be planned.
Good hotel for a business trip in reunion island: good service, good food and a large pool. Highly recommended for a business stay of 3 or 4 days. A bit distant from downtown and may be not a large choice in the menu.
This hotel is a good hotel. Nothing special but nothing bad. I had a big problem with rent a car in hotel but except that nothing else to complain. Food is good although not too much choose if you stay for long time (a week or more) and the hotel is far from the centre if you want to go out for a dinner (unless you have a car). Place is quite, pool is very good and people are nice.
The hotel has a beautiful view over the main town, breakfast is very basic with a limited selection. The rooms are simple, and pretty standard for a Mecure hotel (similar in most places). Over all the hotel is neat, clean and well appointed.
