Staff were extremely friendly, helpful and efficient. They made the short stay a little more like home and less like a hotel. Not a hotel for the late riser though due to being surrounded by noisy neighbors, but a closed window keeps the level down to a minimum
Mercure Remschied. It wasn't my first time here. Quite nice hotel, great restaurant, tasty food and kind restaurant staff. But reception experience was the worst I've ever had. Check-in was a disaster. I booked four rooms, and as platinum member asked for my privileges like upgrade, welcome drink etc. Receptionist gave me a key. But not to my room, even if I asked twice if it's mine. What else, she asked my staff to fulfill membership forms during check-in "to give them an access to my privileges" when I booked and paid all the stay there. She split my booking into four separate ones without informing me. One of my staff was given my room, my personal welcome letter and welcome gift. No excuses made. But it wasn't the end. During checkout receptionist told me, that I've booked only one room, because the rest is visible as personal reservations made by my workers. I was waiting for 15 minutes to join four "separate" reservations into one again and to pay for all. No excuses. I've asked for customer relationship manager, but no answer, and noone came. Accor system calculated status points only for one room. Disaster, when it came to customer experience and level of service. It makes no sense to become platinum member, if in four stars hotel in the middle of Germany front desk people shows you, how much they don't care about you. What a shame, guys. Not recommend. Sorry.
May this is a frustrated post, but this hotel has no atmosphere and overpriced the first time i have a rate of 140EUR. Today the reception forgot to book my taxi I initiated one hour before. Compare to my typical hotel I use in Remscheid-Villa Paulus- the Mercure is ages away. If you do not expect to much, yes you can stay. The rooms and bathrooms are small and clean. But if you look for a special experience for less! Then choose my favorite
This is an Accor Hotel so more or less according standarts, although from my point of view a little simpler than tipical Mercure. Hotel clean and serving a good breakfast (nothing spectacular but you have even Croissants). On first night I had some issue with the room (I was provided a different room than initially assigned)... but they were able to change it to a more confortable room. All in all average Hotel for a Business trip.
The hotel was nice for bussines travel.room was clean and nice.kitchen is open till 22.00.near to hotel is Mcdonalds also.Wifi is working well and it is free.Recommending for business trip.I was very satisfy and come back again.
I informed that i had to cancel last night's reservation 48 hrs before,, it was the K show at dusseldorf and they sure could have booked it again but they did not listen to my request even when I asked 3 times for it. I come very often to remscheid but hotel Fischer is much more friendly....
I am staying frequently in this hotel. the hotel is ok, rooms are comfortable clean and the breakfast quite complete. The weak point is the restaurant which would need to update seriously the menu which is the same since many months.
Very nice business hotel, between the cities Remscheid and Lennep. The staff seems sometimes a bit difficult but generally the service is alright! The rooms are very clean and comfortable and even though the hotel is close to the highway they are very quite. One reason for me to always stay in this hotel is the outstanding breakfast, they offer different kinds of bread, eggs, beacon and sausage, fruit, yoghurt... Overall a good place to stay during business trips in or around Remscheid.
I've stayed at this Mercure on numerous occasions and I have always enjoyed my stays. The staff is always friendly and the rooms are very comfortable. The food is good and the bar area is great especially when there is a big soccer game playing on the large TV. Wifi is free and relatively fast. My only complaint is that they don't have plugs near the bed which I appreciate. My phone is my alarm clock and sound machine so I like to have it plugged in at night near the bed. The showers are nice and the hot water comes quickly even on the 4th (top) floor. I will definitely stay there again.
Quick and friendly reception, clean mid sized room, midsize TV, isolation windows for quite sleep, though facing the busy road and railway. A 24hours gym is accessible just outside the hotel for a minimal fee. Breakfast good, they even have a small restaurant, if you need it a McDonalds is just aside. Enough parking lots.
