Hotel needs renovation. Design from early 90s. Extremely poor internet connection. Hotel is definitely not worth of it's price and additionally price for parking is 10 euro per day. If you have chance stay somewhere else.
Mercury in german way. Hotel in style of late 80'. Wery helpful staff and nice climatic, warm restaurant. Clean rooms but bathroom needs some refurbishment. Breakfast ok, there is everything what is needed however nothing surprasing. God for short stay.
stayed one night in room 414 and the heating system was blowing cold air. I definitely know how to use the hotel heating control panel, in case someone asks. Nice breakfast, but pricey. cool mirror effect in elevators.
Probably not the best time to visit when it's Unification day and everything is closed and the only place to spend the day is the Mercure Hotel. Staff were friendly and the room was adequate, food variety was limited and ok, but the beer was good. Convenient for a business trip, but would look elsewhere if I was there for a social visit.
A very dated European hotel with some fair amenities. However, the hotel was clean and neat. We ate at the hotel restaurant three times and the dinners were very good. We had an upgraded room that is very small with no air conditioning. We were able to keep the window open but no screens. All the staff we encountered spoke English very well and were very kind.
There was really nothing available in Cologne (where I needed to be) and Dusseldorf. So finally Remscheid was my only choice. Check in was swift. Room is spacious but had some troubles where to place the luggage rack. Went downstairs for a quick meal (Schottisch Salmon) and was ok-ish. The McDonalds is just 1 minute away. No time for breakfast had to leave at 6.
Had a night at this hotel on a quick bus stop. Dinner was included, but not a pleasant experience, a boring Cordon Bleu from the freezer, but what can you expect upon feeding a large group. Breakfast was ok! The room was also ok, but only a small pillow per bed
Staff were extremely friendly, helpful and efficient. They made the short stay a little more like home and less like a hotel. Not a hotel for the late riser though due to being surrounded by noisy neighbors, but a closed window keeps the level down to a minimum
Mercure Remschied. It wasn't my first time here. Quite nice hotel, great restaurant, tasty food and kind restaurant staff. But reception experience was the worst I've ever had. Check-in was a disaster. I booked four rooms, and as platinum member asked for my privileges like upgrade, welcome drink etc. Receptionist gave me a key. But not to my room, even if I asked twice if it's mine. What else, she asked my staff to fulfill membership forms during check-in "to give them an access to my privileges" when I booked and paid all the stay there. She split my booking into four separate ones without informing me. One of my staff was given my room, my personal welcome letter and welcome gift. No excuses made. But it wasn't the end. During checkout receptionist told me, that I've booked only one room, because the rest is visible as personal reservations made by my workers. I was waiting for 15 minutes to join four "separate" reservations into one again and to pay for all. No excuses. I've asked for customer relationship manager, but no answer, and noone came. Accor system calculated status points only for one room. Disaster, when it came to customer experience and level of service. It makes no sense to become platinum member, if in four stars hotel in the middle of Germany front desk people shows you, how much they don't care about you. What a shame, guys. Not recommend. Sorry.
May this is a frustrated post, but this hotel has no atmosphere and overpriced the first time i have a rate of 140EUR. Today the reception forgot to book my taxi I initiated one hour before. Compare to my typical hotel I use in Remscheid-Villa Paulus- the Mercure is ages away. If you do not expect to much, yes you can stay. The rooms and bathrooms are small and clean. But if you look for a special experience for less! Then choose my favorite
