This is an excellent hotel tthat we use whenever we stop over when we travel back from the Alps. The location is excellent, lots of places eat nearby. The rooms are well equipped and the restaurant breakfast is excellent. Staff are always friendly and helpful, and check in is very quick.
Ended up a walk in on the busiest night of the ski travel half term pandemonium. They gave me a family room for a reasonable price and it was soooo much better than the campanile (which we had booked but refused to stay in) Thank you for saving my family!!!
We've used this hotel several times as an overnight stop on the way to France or Italy. It's one of the friendliest hotels I've stayed in and not at all what you expect from a big chain. Even late at night the staff are really welcoming and make a special effort with our young boys. It's not just an overnight stop on the way to holidays, for us it's the start of them.
Clean room and large enough to accommodate our 3 pets. Shower in bathroom was good and bed was comfortable.Next door Courtpaille restaurant was excellent for steaks and grilled meats. Staff were helpful and professional.
Friendly Reception staff, spacious on-site parking. Good sized room and bathroom. Very clean and comfortable. Excellent TV and sofa. Breakfast good with good variety. Dinner was truly dreadful. Their good chef has left and the current one served very poor quality steak, so badly cooked most of mine was inedible, the dessert was tasteless. Very disappointing meal.
This is the second time we have stayed here. We all had a really comfortable night's sleep. The two rooms were prepared for our party of three children and two adults, ie extra bed already made up. The handwritten note welcoming us was a lovely extra touch. Given how late it was when we arrived, we decided to eat in the restaurant. One of our children has two relatively common food allergies that result in anaphylaxis. These allergies are getting much easier to manage because across Europe, any food outlet selling prepared meals needs to have a list of allergens for each meal as part of EU food safety legislation. It is a great tool for customers like us. We asked if a certain item on the children's menu had egg in, in French and English, and were told 'no'. When it arrived, it looked appetising, but I had a hunch it was made in an egg batter. We asked a different waiter to check. It did indeed have egg in the ingredients, as did almost everything on the menu. No apology for an error that could have gone badly wrong. My daughter did not have an evening meal and had to pick off our plates. Three of our main meals also came without the advertised extras and the service was haphazard and chaotic. Yes, it was late, but some minimum level of menu knowledge and indeed care should come as standard in a big chain like this. Advice to other travellers: there are at least three other food outlets keeping the same hours as the hotel restaurant within a minute's walk. Next time we will be voting with our feet.
As the title suggests, great stop over. Rooms were good spacious for us and our young boy. Staff couldn't have been friendlier. Just careful getting off the right exit, it might be my sat nav, so we had fun late at night finding this place, but nothing against the hotel itself and location. More a reflection of my tiredness I suspect.
We stayed twice in 2 weeks before Christmas to and from the French Alps, driving from England via the Channel Tunnel. Ideal location for an overnight stop to break the journey. Close to the motorway. Rooms are clean and have everything you need. Plenty of well lit parking just outside the hotel. Staff friendly and polite. Good selection for breakfast. Would recommend and stay here again.
We have used this hotel on many occasions, which is testament in itself. Its smart, clean, fairly accessible and very convenient to the shopping centre across the road. You don't have to go far for food as if you don't want to eat in the restaurant there is a Courtepaille in the car park which is attached to the Ibis Hotel.
We visited this hotel earlier this week. It is easy to find off the A26 and A4 motorways. It is everything you would expect from a Novotel. Clean rooms - and a good size. Excellent staff. We ate in the hotel restaurant where the food and service were very good (although the menu is not very extensive). There is also a Courtepaille restaurant next door if you want a wider choice. We will probably stay there on our way back to England.
