My suggestion to the Manager and the Comfort Inn hotel chain would be to install cameras at the front desk at every location so you can protect and monitor your staff. I wish the opportunity existed so you could witness what actually happened with one of your staff members. As a business owner myself - employing over 350 staff, we both know our staff are the faces of our business/services and need to be ENGAGED and polite when selling. We rely on them! Customers are NOT always right BUT without customer feedback we would never know if our employees are dropping the ball and in need of customer service training, going above and beyond .... or the last resort.....in need of a pink slip. We travel a great deal and have stayed at your hotel on numerous occasions without incident. A few weeks ago, after driving 8 hours we finally arrived at your hotel. We had booked online - as always (Dec 7-10) and requested the ground floor. The hotel only has 2 floors and previous requests for a ground floor room have always been accepted. The main reason we have chosen your hotel IS because it has ground floor rooms with sliding patio door exits as well as hallway exit doors making moving in/out very convenient and also providing an emergency/quick exit if need be. Tired and cold we walked into the entrance. We stood at the counter for a couple of minutes, then my husband said "HELLO??" A very tall African American woman appeared from behind the wall with the presence of us being a disturbance to her evening - no eye contact, no hello, no smile, no welcome - She just bluntly said "You GOT a reservation?". My husband and I glanced at each other briefly bewildered with the curtness/rudeness and he replied yes, gave our name and she accessed the computer screen. Next she said " Credit card? My husband handed her his card. She printed out a sheet of paper - said initial here, sign here and said ROOM 200 and something - (sorry - can't remember exact room #) I said "Oh, that's upstairs - correct? We had requested a room on the ground floor when we booked, if that's ok. (Keep in mind this is late on a Thursday night and there are very few cars in the hotel lot - only 3 on the south side - your reservation sheet can confirm this). Her reply to me was "You booked ONLINE and got a good deal. I replied " Yes , I booked online and received a decent rate but with $10 extra it wouldn't be a good rate but the same rate as the hotel beside you. She replied, Well if you WANT a ground floor room then it's $10 EXTRA a night because you got a good DEAL. I said the hotel lot looks almost empty, is it please possible to be on the ground floor? She said "NO, not unless you pay EXTRA! We were exhausted, I don't feel like arguing with this woman - we're shocked at her behaviour towards us and being older, you tell it like it is,,,,so I said "Your customer service is terrible." My husband leans over to my ear and says lets just get some sleep and talk to the morning staff - he takes the key fobs and we head upstairs. Our room is located on the 2nd floor - far south end - right across from one of the FEW occupied rooms with a party going on - door ajar- loud voices, laughter, drinking ..... just .... PERFECT!!! My husband said this ISN'T going to work - I'm not staying across the hall from this. I went back out the the car and my husband went back to the front desk. A few minutes later he came back out, got into the car and drove down the parking lot to the far end. He said he explained what was going on upstairs and the woman at the front desk gave him a ground floor room and said she wasn't going to charge him the extra $10 BUT she would have if I had come back as she didn't like me. He explained to her that we always requested a ground floor room as I'd been in a hotel fire years ago. We unloaded and fell asleep exhausted. We had business in Regna for the next few days that kept us busy until we left the hotel on Sunday. We did briefly encounter your friendly breakfast and cleaning staff whiile there. Kudos to them. Going forward, the Comfort Inn Eastgate Regina will never be a location we (or any of my staff) will return to.
The rooms were clean, the staff were all friendly and the breakfast was hot with a good selection. No elevator is the reason I didn’t rate a 5. Had a baby to chart up and down the stairs. Great for the price though!
Super friendly staff, very helpful and most staff willing to accomidate what ever you need, we go to this city at least twice a year and always make sure we stay at this hotel. Lots of shopping across the highway, night club and a nice resturant on the same parking lot, Just an overall nice nice place to stay. Excellent free breakfast in morning as well
We stayed for one night. Check in was smooth, room was a good size. Bathroom floor had hairs all over it that wasn't from either of us. We were on the top floor so it was very quiet. Beds were comfortable but would have liked firmer pillows. On the pillow menu card that was placed on the bed, it said that the firm pillows were in the back. All four pillows on the bed were very soft. Jean, the breakfast supervisor, was lovely. A definite asset to the hotel.
We travelled to Regina for an overnight stay to visit Agribition and also to see some friends. The people at the service desk were friendly, helpful, and professional. The room was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. I had read previously that the walls were not that sound proof but we did not hear much from next door, and although the hallway sounds could be heard, it was nothing out of the ordinary. Breakfast was included with the room and it was quite adequate. I would certainly stay here again and would recommend it to anyone. It was good value for the money, clean and comfortable - all the things that count.
The room was clean with all of the things you would expect to be in the room from a fridge to a microwave ,free wifi and a great breakfast. The staff was very friendly and helpful. A great value for your dollar.
good location., quiet, numerous restaurants across the parking lot. friendly staff, very helpfull. will definitely try again. My only complaint was the bed was not very comfortable. The room was a good size
No elevator. Made comment on review about elevator, front desk associate called me at 1030 pm to see if I wanted to switch rooms. I said it’s fine it was just difficult getting my luggage to me room. The next morning at 730 am my personal cell was called 4 times by the front desk. I was on my phone working with my do not disturb sign and the door. When I finally answered the gentleman said Ive tried to call you three times! And asked if I wanted to switch rooms. I again, said no. Other than that my coffee pot wasn’t cleaned or restocked more than once on my week stay, the hallways were noisy all night and the room heater smelled terrible.
This was a stay over after arriving from the airport in the middle of the night. The staff were very warm and friendly, and check-in was brief. Our room was clean, very comfortable bed,and very quiet. Complimentary breakfast was enjoyable.
We stayed 2 nights .... the rooms are clean and decent for an older hotel. Hot breakfast was nice but a TINY breakfast area. The beds are horrible. Completely bowed in the middle. The entire family was sore every morning we woke. Definitely need those upgraded. When the maid cleaned our room after the first night, they didn’t restock anything. No soap,no shampoo, no coffee etc. we had to go find a maid with a cart in the hall. The front desk staff were not personable at all. We never got one hello or even a smile til we had checked out by a polite Caucasian lady. Would I stay here again? Probably not. The only reason we did is because I got a deal through Expedia. Many places to stay within the same budget with better accommodations and staff.
