At first the neighborhood is all buildings but you star walking with in half a block there are 2 good reasonable priced restaurants 1 is Brazilian with seafood specialty and the other Italian, BEACH wide an open Just the view is Breathtaking. Hotel has very limited ocean view at roof top with decent size pool, sauna, game room, bar, steam room, exercise all small but well maintained thoughout. Basic buffet breakfast included, our room was for a triple but we were only two so it was spacious. Hotels offers tours we took 2 and a catamaran at night. Recife definately a place to return.

I did not feel this hotel justified the price at all. First, its location is questionable. It is at least a 5-7 minute walk to the beach, and although it is technically still in Boa Viagem, it is at the far end closest to downtown. The surrounding neighborhood is ok during the daytime, but I did not feel that safe at night or on holidays. The room is small and cramped (especially with a king bed), and feels as old as it looks. For some reason, the switches to the lights and the air conditioning on the bed's headboard, instead of on the wall. While I understand this is a convenient location while laying down, it is also the same location you may want to put your head or back to watch TV or read a book while in bed. You'll need to take this into consideration while getting comfortable (why couldn't they have just put it on the wall next to the bed???). Breakfast is ok, but drinks tend to run out before staff refills them. I would also suggest that the staff person recording guests' room numbers during breakfast stand closer to the entrance, instead of having to chase people down while they are trying to serve themselves breakfast - the restaurant is not big enough for this!
