As part of a business trip around Brazil I had some work in Recife and also decided to spend the weekend there. The hotel is on the beach - not the best beach in Brazil, and not a beach I would swim at - but still and interesting beach and with lots going on and beach side huts selling snacks, drinks etc all along the promenade it is kind of cool. The hotel is a bit tired and worn out. Staff were friendly, breakfast ok and most rooms have no ocean view. The biggest annoyance for me was the hours of the gym It looked like a good gym but why close it at midday on Sunday??!!

This is the worst place I've ever stayed. Check in and check out times we're really long. Room was really dirty and service is very bad. At breakfast, there were no waiters and all the tables were dirty, with no coffee on the buffet. At checkout wrong charges and nobody had empowerment to correct the errors. Really bad experience overall. Don't recommend the place to any body.

Arrived late, late evening(August 1st. 1:00AM). Easy check in. Rooms clean and ready and a super room service 24 hr./day for travelers like us who arrives in early morning hours. Make sure above all of power change. 220 volts and non-conventional electric sockets. Get your adapters before arriving.

It was an amazing decision to have our wedding at the Atlante Plaza Hotel. Everything was very well organized and very pleasant to me, my family and friends. The room we stayed in had a very romantic decoration and the attention we received by the employees was amazing. Our wedding night was very special!

I stayed here 6 nights. I had room with sea view. I was very satisfied with everything in this hotel. Stuff at the reception desk was excellent. From begining to the end. When we arrived they immediatelly call a guy to help us with lagguage. If we need something special during our stay they helped us all the time with smile. The view from roof is beautiful. The pool on the roof is small but nice. One "bad" thing is about breakfast. I would expect more choice. Too much sweet. But it is very personally. Other else could have another opinien. One nice add is that when we leave the hotel and fly home they give us a voucher to VIPlounge at the airport:-)

I stayed here for 5 nights with work, the hotel it nice and clean. I called for room service and was put through by reception and the guy who answered said he did not speak English and hung up the phone which I thought was poor service and hense only gave 4 stars. I called back and was able to speak to someone who spoke English and order my meal. The service was otherwise really good, most staff spoke English and the service at reception was very good, they couldn't be more helpful when we asked for recommendations of places to visit over the weekend and information on transport, as well as local restaurant recommendations and the safest way to walk. The gym opening times were unclear with two notices having different time and I did not get a chance to visit the gym due to it being easter weekend and the opening times not being clear. The pool area was nice and there was a bar in the pool area. The hotel room mini bar was very good with lots of choice. Overall this was a very pleasant stay, we booked to go to Porto de Galinhas through the hotel and the trip was very straight forward being picked up from the hotel and dropped back at the hotel... see my review for more information on this trip.

I made our reservations for 04/06/17 and found the staff to be helpful and the room was very good. However, when you are in Recife in the month of April you can and will find it to be very hot and humid. I would expect that the rooms would have sufficient air conditioning to ensure that guest are cool and comfortable. Our room had 2 large air conditioners and I discovered that I could not adjust the temperature below 26 degrees Celsius (on either unit)........that would be nearly 79 degrees. I called maintenance twice and had 2 different techs and both turned off the air conditioners, turned them back on and then informed me that it was fixed and that I could now adjust the temperature to my desired 22 degrees Celsius. They only told me what I wanted to hear as I was unable to adjust the temperature lower than 26/27 degrees Celsius. I informed the front desk and they only said that they were sorry. The point here is that the air conditioning is "throttled" and can not be set lower than what I stated here. So if your looking for a cool place to park while in Recife I would not recommend the Atlante Plaze Hotel. Tossing and turning all night with a wet sticky pillow makes for a less than pleasant next day!

If the hotel was a 3 star I would have given it a good review. It pretends to be a 5 star and it definitely is not that. I stayed here on 2 occasions during my last trip. The first time I was given a room on the 14th floor. Seemed very nice but no hot water. The next morning I mentioned this to reception and they said they would have it fixed. I came back at 8pm that day wanting a shower and it was still cold. Complained to the manager and he sent someone up and it took another 30 mins to sort which was inconvenient, why could this not had been done while I was away from the hotel. The next time I checked in I had a room on the 2nd floor. Similar in size but spotted it didn't have a kettle. I called reception and they said this room which was a superior apartment that I booked like the last time does not come with a kettle. How can a 5 star hotel not provide kettles in superior rooms. I went to the manager again and he said the first time I was put on the 14th floor as a free upgrade, these rooms have kettles. I asked if they could provide one and he said he would check with housekeeping. He called me to say the hotel had no spare kettles. How ridiculous, what is someone's kettle on the 14th floor or in a suite broke, they wouldn't replace it. This felt like a fob off. I then went to the shower hoping that it had hot water. Yes it did but the cleanliness was appalling. I have attached photos and this will let you decide if you think this is 5 star. Mould all over the tiles, broken electrical switch in a bathroom!!!! and holes and raw plugs in the wall where handle rails had been taken off and not replaced. A great 3 star hotel, good value, an extremely poor 5 star hotel and one I will not be staying in again when I go back to Recife.

"Suite especial"- was very practical, with great bathroom water pressure, nice selection of US TV channels and amazing Ocean view. Front desk- excellent English- speaking and Very accommodating! Heated swimming pool with great food ! Room service food- above average quality. Taxis always waiting in front of the hotel. Safe area for late night walking. Nice smelling bathrobes! Great value hotel!

We have been traveling in Brazil for 5 weeks now and have great experiences with other hotels/pousadas throughout Brazil. We have been staying at this hotel now for a few days and are still here. The location is nice and the lobby is welcoming and presentable. Their breakfast is also nice offering a nice variety. Re: our room we have had numerous issues from not having hot water for shower, the sink not draining, the A/C barely cooling, TV issues. I have complained twice now with No results. And I speak Portuguese so no language barrier. The bed mattress is also very stiff. Also, we had dinner at the restaurant on the lobby level and it was so terrible from the bad wine to the cold soup to over cooked chicken to pasta drenched with oil, horrible wilted salad. Also, it's pricey so I'd stay away for dinner. Overall I'd give this hotel 3 stars and I'd look elsewhere next time we are here. It's a nice building and there is much room for improvement!
