If you’re looking for location right by Portofino Marina then this is your place. There is NO shower in the rooms, only a huge tub with old style faucets, this was a huge disadvantage. The tussue box in the bathroom was empty. We weren’t given the WiFi password at check in until we called to ask and we also did not receive the free spa service and we weren’t offered any! It’s way too expensive for what we got! I don’t recommend staying there. Saint Margherita Ligure hotels are much better with better services and amenities. Also, the breakfast was very poor, no varieties and the toaster oven wasn’t working. I won’t stay there again for sure . Thanks

Fantastic location, staff beyond friendly, has a sister hotel which provides access to a beautiful private beach, staff provided gr8 recommendations, breakfast was awesome, place superb and well maintained. Only plus could have been the room - very nice and modern but could have been a bit larger considering price

NOT a 5 Star Hotel

This is not a 5 star hotel - first there is no gym or spa or fitness. I thought to have 5 stars you need this. Second, no hot water and no one seemed to do much about it. We only had hot water the first day of our stay, then the second and third none and the staff was not very helpful. Third, no restaurant - only some pizzas in the room. And finally staff was not very friendly and concierge was clueless, even made us a reservation for a restaurant that was closed. The room was nice, hotel recently remodelled but the overall experience was negative, and this hotel cannot say they are a 5 star nor charge 5 star prices with this service.

We stayed in the hotel near the main square. Parking was provided and the service was excellent. The room was small but very tastefully furnished. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

There were renovation works happening at the property but nothing was mentioned when I booked. The room showed a balcony in the pictures, but there were no balconies in the whole hotel, when I asked staff they said they used pictures from their other hotel in Portofino. In general the whole stay was very average

Lovely and attentive staff, room was spacious but some furniture a little tired. The bathroom only had one sliding door on the shower meaning there was always a big gap, thus a lot of water landing on the floor. Did question this with reception but didn't hear back. Rooms cleaned twice a day though, so we always had towels and mat replaced afterward. Lovely decor and location - would stay again.

Family beach vacation

We had a lovely stay at the hotel, the staff’s attention to details and level of service was second to none. The continental breakfast was also very good. The lobby was very well decorated and the hotel felt very welcoming. Although comfortable, the bathroom smelled of dampness and some of the corners in the shower area were rotting. A small detail that should be looked at.

The hotel was great, although the rooms were smaller than in the pictures. We got a junior suite and it was not at all how it appeared in the pictures. Also, the rooms are a little dated. Besides that, the staff was very friendly and the shuttle to the sister hotel to use the beach us great!

Staff is efficient. Will give them that, but for a VIP upgrade and $1200 a night would expect a shower. None. Bathtub only and no other rooms available. Would recommend seriously considering spending the extra money to go to the Splendido. If set on This hotel, make sure you have a shower.

I loved everything about this hotel. The entire staff (front reception, housekeeping, chauffeur, restaurant, etc.) were all incredibly kind and helpful. I went during my birthday and had dinner at their restaurant,The Eight, next door in Paraggi. The food was delicious and they surprised me with a lovely birthday cake! It was such a special experience. When I return to Portofino, I will definitely book with Eight Hotel.

My family and I stayed at the Eight Hotel Portofino for 7 days. After reading some of the negatives about the hotel, I wanted to cancel my booking. I am so glad that I didn't. All STAFF are excellent. We arrived a bit earlier than check in time and was given our rooms right away. The rooms were also upgraded as I had asked previously if I would be able to. Everything from the linen to the cleanliness was spot on. My daughter was not feeling well one morning and she was unable to complete her breakfast. I were aske if she didn't like her eggs and when I told the staff that she wasn't well, she made her a pot of ginger tea and a glass of freshly squeeze orange juice. Every question that we asked was answered and any request was granted. We are so happy that we stayed at the Eight Hotel Portofino. Since there is a sister hotel in Paraggi that has a restaurant, we were shuttled there. Just want to say a big thank you to the Manager and staff who did their best to make our stay a pleasant one. Would stay here again. It was a 5 star treatment.
