amazing hotel! stayed here for two weeks, and i could not have had a better experience. everyone on the staff is incredibly kind, courteous, and thoughtful. the daily breakfast is great and the location of the hotel is highly convenient for those who need to be in the city centre. i absolutely recommend hotel centrale byron and hope i will be back soon for another stay! grazie mille a tutti!
Ok, so this isn't a five-star hotel and they don't claim to be. But there is absolutely no reason for me to deduct any points from their grade as they were absolutely perfect for everything I was looking for. You'll have to decide what you're looking for in a hotel and judge accordingly. My reason for coming to Ravenna was to see the incredible UNESCO Byzantine mosaics all over the city and, of course, sample the fine cuisine. The hotel is only a 10-minute walk from the train station. Completely doable even with a heavy suitcase (as long as it's a roller). It's located just off the main Piazza del Popolo, a big gathering place. However, I slept fine and didn't hear any noise. All the sites are within walking distance except for one which is in Classe, a 10-15 minute bus ride. My room was a single and quite tiny, which was of no concern to me since it was clean and the bed was comfortable. The ladies at breakfast were very friendly. The gentlemen at the task were helpful. What more can you ask for? Well, like I said before, you'll need to decide that one for yourself. Tip - The AC takes a while to cool even a small room at high setting but once it does the room gets quite comfortable. It's not loud or anything, it just takes a while to cool the room.
Wave of fragrance hit us as soon as we opened the door. Either cheap room fragrance or fragranced cleaning products. Whichever, it was gross. Though it was raining, it wasn’t cold outside (well not by North American standards) but hot & stuffy in room plus the in-your-face fragrance. Yuck. Appears to be no a/c in room but heat was turned up to 23 c. Window opens a fraction & no a/c. The location is good but not happy with this room.
This is a centrally located hotel just minutes from the main square. It is exceptionally clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are small- but have what you need for a few nights stay. Although not luxurious, it is comfortable, clean and safe. The breakfast is excellent and the staff very helpful. There is a wide varienty of breakfast items and fresh pastries daily. Coffee is made at your request. This hotel certainly is value for money.
Overall the hotel seems a little outdated but is very clean, very quiet and services but friendly people. Excellent breakfast. Since the hotel is located in the very heart of Ravenna, right next to the main square (Piazza del Popolo) one can reach all the pertinent churches, mausolea and baptistery within 15-20 min, walk.
The staff are friendly and welcoming. The rooms are not large, but comfortable. The continental breakfast is very generous and was included in the room price. The hotel can supply parking permits but it may be less trouble to do what we did;. park in Largo Giustiniano (near San Vitale for 3 euros a day. That avoids trying to find a way through the maze of streets that is central Ravenna and avoid the many pedestrians and bicycles.
In the very heart of Ravenna, it has something improved every year and it meets the highest expectations. And even it is located in a pedestrian area, it is close to Kennedy Square, a safe place to park your car.
Great location of Ravenna but will need help from hotel if you are driving. I rated the experience as excellent mainly because of location and the staff. Marco was incredibly responsive in responding to my numerous emails for driving instructions. We left the hotel at 6 AM to drive to Venice. Rocco (?) working at the front desk graciously made us coffee since cafes were not open yet. Room is clean and comfortable, air conditioning was not the best, an issue when the weather is over 35 degree...Will return on our next visit to Ravenna. Grazie to Marco and Rocco for making our stay a pleasure.
The location of the hotel is perfect, very close to all major sights with many restaurants and bars close by. They serve delicious breakfast and the staff are nice and friendly, the room was clean and comfortable.
Very well located, near the train station (but far from the FlixBus stop), in the middle of the main attractions, all walking distance (except the basilica in the village of Classe), ice cream shops and restaurants. Friendly front desk and staff. Very good breakfast. Actually, kind of funny as the attendant would speak Italian with anyone, even when replying in English. The room was small but still comfortable. Ravenna is wonderful. Nice to see and learn so much about our early history and culture.
