We stayed for 3 nights and it was a very relaxing break. Hotel facilities are fantastic and very luxurious. There is plenty of beach, pools and other communal space outdoor. We stayed in a suite with a beautiful decor and plenty of space including dressing room and one of the most beautiful hotel bathrooms I have ever seen. Had a buffet dinner in one of the restaurants and food quality and choice is absolutely amazing. Highly recommended !!!
We went back to the Waldorf Astoria RAK after a while. We stayed in a Junior Suite which was a great room with a nice view of the beach. Check in took a while as the hotel was busy & the lady at the front desk forgot about us after making us sit in the coffee shop. We had spa appointments at 4pm and told her that we need to get to the room before but she totally forget & it was only when we went to ask that she said yes the room was ready. On check out I found she had charged my credit card with the extra charges & room rates instead of just blocking the amount with a pre-authorisation - as per standard practice. There was no real apology for the mistake & I was just told the money will be refunded in 7 working days. As a hotel that has been around for a few years, the front desk staff should be more professional. This did leave a bad taste after a nice relaxing stay.
We decided to switch ski gear to beach wear and try out R.A.K. WA as a holiday destination. Quality of the hotel, service, food and drinks were amazing. Every single day we received a SMS from our guest manager making sure that the hotel had served us to perfection. Also the spa and deep sea treatment were so good. High recommendation to anyone looking for a perfect beach/pool holiday without the busyness of Dubai. Thank you to all the staff who made our stay perfect.
We were actually staying at the Al Hamra next door, and each day gazing at the Waldorf as we lay by the pool. Each night, after dinner, we wandered around and into this vision of opulence. IT IS MAJESTIC - from the moment you walk into the lobby, your breath is taken away by the rich gold and crystal ornaments and decor. If in the resort, you must visit, especially after sunset. Its facilities are equally opulent: book or visit with absolute confidence!
Our return trip did not disappoint, re-visited in the Feb half term to yet again a fabulous stay. Dubai to RAK is about an hour, maybe bit more, On arrival we were pleasantly upgraded to a tower suite, these rooms are huge and very luxurious, you will be hard pushed to sleep on a more comfortable bed anywhere, even at home ! Toiletries and the shower/bathroom is equally grand in size and the hotel room staff do everything possible to ensure your room is kept in pristine condition with every attention to detail you could imagine, they are a credit to the hotel. Breakfast inside or on the terrace is excellent with whatever you fancy available, Arjay and Rahul taking superb care of you. The hotel has a good choice of restaurants to enjoy, UMI being my favourite (see separate review) if I was to be highly critical I would suggest one more maybe an Italian to complete the quartet. The pool area is superb, including the swim up bar, "Azure bar & restaurant" this is a fantastic place to chill with a beer in the afternoon, the food is seriously tasty with the staff always happy and pleased to see you, "Prajapati & Donny" particularly made our lunches very enjoyable. For the adults who prefer total peace there is an adults only pool & bar or the beach, however that said we did not have any issues re kids even in half term. If you play golf, Al-Hamra is a buggy drive a-way and absolutely a must, be warned bring your A game. This is a truly luxurious hotel way up there on appeal, if you are looking for cheap/budget then seek elsewhere, but for absolute indulgence at a reasonable cost look no further.
So many staff to thank but one highlight for us was Dinesh’s freshly made Flat Breads in the main restaurant- obscure we know but, in our experience, the best we’ve ever tasted! Also Julee’s service in the Lexington - superb, we could go on and on..... We’ll be back.
Been to this hotel many times now and have found the hotel to never disappoint. The rooms are clean and spacious. Staff are always helpful and polite. Restaurants are varied and of good quality. We used the services of the spa this visit which again met our expectations. If your looking for somewhere a bit quieter than Dubai itself this is well worth a look.
As I drove up to the Waldorf Astoria RAK my jaw literally dropped I was in awe and could not believe how magnificent the architecture was. I was later told that the building itself was a palace. You definitely feel you are in a palace and are treated as royalty from the moment you step out of your car. A shout out to Andrea - front of house. So welcoming and definitely accommodating. Being part of the Hilton honours they upgraded us to a suite. The suite itself was breathtaking even the hallways smelt divine. Breakfast was included and it was an absolute pleasure each morning. Different cuisines but the same welcoming faces. The maitre D ‘ Meghna’ every morning remembering us. Mary our waitress always so happy to assist with a smile. A shoutout to Dinesh making the finest omelette each morning. The Pool, the beach, the spa everything was incredible. Try the VIP treatment room with the Juccuzi it’s a very relaxing experience. Before you leave eating at The Lexington is a must. Our waiter Sandeep was so helpful and made ordering very easy for us. He was patient and even made our two year old feel welcome. Book this hotel you will NOT regret it. Excellent service!
If you’re in Dubai for some winter son or you live in Dubai, go spend the day there. Very reasonable day pass price. Great service. White sand and transparent turquoise water. Great for couples and families as well. 45 min to 1h from Dubai.
The hotel and the grounds are absolutely beautiful. The hotel rooms are one of the largest I’ve seen. And the balconies of the junior suites are perfect size to have a dinner for two. The Kid Club (4-12 year old) was empty during our stay. There are no cost to guest staying on the property.
