Check in took ages....the room Was nice but the tiles were very slippery when you had a pool in the room which was dangerous to kids. The pool was not cold enough. Everything closes at 7pm (pool and pool bar) now when you see how much people were drunk you can understand why... in a hotel of this standing it is not normal that at 12 am in the morning a guest hits the fire alarm just to have fun.... our kids were so scared especially that we escaped a fire at our house a short while ago.... the place is really nice if it was serviced better etc... we barely had an apology or anything...
Good staff, good service, managment need to check the facilities inside and out if all up to 5 star standard, seems a little tired here and there. Issues, pool, bed pillows, AC and humming noise inside the bed. Thank you, Andy
villa is over priced. private pool is not private but it looks over the other villas, furniture is so cheap. TV for maybe 29 inch, dirty plastic chairs next to the pool, dirty old furnitire in the living room. Room full of insects. Fixing tiles of the villa next to me at 23h00 when you are supposed to relax...renting villas to bachelors to celebrate bdays so the music was very loud till 3h00 in the morning..limited nunner of cars for tranportation to ur room (2 only)... i paid an average of AED3,300 per night for such a bad experience.
I came with my wife and 2 children for the first time to Cove Rotana Resort at Ras Al Khaimah, this is amazing resort, one of the best resorts I ever stayed in. From the easiness of booking to great hospitality of reception crew to magnificent house keeping, very nice restaurant and variety of food. The pools are beautiful and the beach is great with life guards available at all times. It really made me feel comfortable and safe 24 / 7. I strongly recommend it to all and will surely come back as soon as I can.
The Cove is just an hour's drive from Dubai, with a couple of worthwhile spots to visit nearby (namely, the RAK Fort, Barracuda/Thunderoad Bar & Grill, Jebel Jais, Queen of Sheba fort ruins), and being a 5-star resort with glowing reviews, this was a no-brainer for my staycation Checking in was a breeze, and the staff processed it quickly, and we were on our way to our villa in a matter of minutes. The access cards were correctly coded and worked on the first try (believe me, this doesn't happen at all the places I've staycation'd in!) we were rather surprised at the interior. On opening the door, we were pleasantly surprised by the size of the villa. The living room area was large enough for a family of 4 (even though this was rated as a villa for 2), complete with a dining area and a small kitchen. The bathroom and bedroom were located on the 1st floor, and the entire room was spotlessly clean. The bathroom was well stocked, with running hot and cold water (the latter is a welcome relief given the scorching summer we're having now), and the shower stall is large enough for an adult (but not two). The bed was wonderfully sublime, sheets were clean and crisp, and sleep came easily, given the (mostly) quiet environment (more on that later). The pool was just a short walk from the villa, and pool towels were readily available. Given that it was 43C that day, the water was warm, though not unpleasantly so. A good swim and soak really does wonders on a hot summer day. The pool bar was also well stocked and serving refreshments despite the fact that it was Ramadan (i.e. No food and drink in public). We discovered that some room packages (not ours - ours was cheap) are all-inclusive (i.e. All you can drink - non-alcoholic or otherwise), so that's something to consider when you're making a booking. Dinner at the Cinnamon was quite decent. Cinnamon serves up an international buffet of sorts. The seafood (mussels, Alaskan king crab) was fresh, but the highlight was really the lamb ouzi, the roast beef, and the roast duck, with special mention of the delightfully refreshing mulberry juice, with the plum stew a close second. The Umm Ali (a local dessert, similar to bread and butter pudding) was excellent, and I've had my fair share of them over 11 years of living in the UAE. The beach is a worthwhile venture, and access made so much more convenient by the golf carts on call which take guests from one venue to another within the resort). Peppered with sun beds, this beach is a lovely place to take a break from the hustle and bustle and watch the sun rise/set. Saving the best for last, I would have to mention the excellent service I received from all members of the staff, who were unhesitatingly helpful in making this stay so wonderful. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who's looking for a weekend getaway. The not-so-good: A couple of areas could have been improved, namely 1. Bedside lamp wasn't working, neither was the standing lamp in the bedroom. 2. Adjacent villa was irresponsibly loud, playing loud music and singing/screaming along to it till 2 am. My plans to catch the sunrise were unfortunately ruined, no thanks to these guests. 3. Front desk was unreachable between 11 and 2 am, when I was trying to call in to get some assistance in getting my inebriated neighbors to exercise a little more consideration and restraint 4. Samsung Pay works fine at check-in and at Cinnamon, though not at the pool bar. I had to walk all the way back to the villa to get my wallet. 5. Luggage handler at the bag drop was about to load another guest's luggage into my car. I shudder to think what would have happened if they had loaded my camera bag into someone else's car. This really needs to be improved, above all else.
Definitely I would not come again. We have rented a three bedroom premium villa and for the price we are paying and the hotel reputation, I expected a better experience. The check in time didn't take much, we did however wait more than 30 minutes to be escorted to our villa. And then when we reached, we had to wait another 1 hour for our luggage to arrive (despite calling the reception multiple time to check on the status). Finally, when the luggage came, it was mixed with other people's luggages. We spent some time to separate our baggage. But the concierge guys took back the wrong delivered bags, alo g with two of ours. Despite calling the reception several times, we did not get our missing bags. Finally we ended up going back to reception to search ourselves for the bags. That wasn't all, the villa was poorly maintained, the kitchen sink wasn't working. One of the bathrooms toilet seat was leaking and wasn't flushing. We called many times to send someone to fix it. You would expect, being on vacation and all, that you shouldn't worry about such things and you would be enjoying your time instead of standing next to the plumber. The bad experience continued, we had to call multiple times to get ice and water to the villa, and every time they sent water its was 4 small bottles, knowing that it is a three bedroom villa, I am not sure what their policy was. The next day upon check out, we have clearly requested 3 buggies to pick us up, they sent only one and the rest of us had to wait in the villa for more than 40 minutes and again they sent 1 instead of two. Overall, the hotel architecture and layout is very nice, but it wasn't a pleasant experience when it came to the facilities and the services.
Let me first say the saving grace was an understanding management. Florent listened to our complaints and took action. He was very accomodating and I sincerely wish the entire staff learns from him. It for this fact alone, I compliment this hotel. Upon check in the staff were slow, poorly trained, and not friendly. The accommodations were "below average" and outdated. Our sea view "premium" king room was anything but premium. Very small, dirty, and badly needing a fresh look. There were visible insects crawling on the tile floor. An off-centered TV and a "sea view" obstructed by dirty glass. I asked and received a full refund and for this I thank the management for not ruining my holiday. This hotel is at best 2-3 stars.
both positive and negative feedback as we experienced not so good facilities of water flowing in the bathroom are dirty brown but the food and staff and swimming pool facility are all ok and staff are accommodating
Wonderful hotel. Beautiful and comfortable. Nice set up. Good staff. Good meals. Lot of activities. It is a place to visit with your family for a holiday. Feel so relaxed with the comfort and the beautiful see view.
Beautiful setting in RAK. It felt a real treat. I would definitely recommend staying in one of the villas. Delicious food and attentive staff. Can not wait to go back there again soon. The golf buggies are ace !!!
