This resort is lovely, we stayed in the adults only side but used both sides of the facility. The pool in the family side is awesome, the staff are amazing and make you feel so welcome. The rooms were lovely and clean we had a beach front room and our view was so stunning! We would happily stay there again :)

This is a drop dead gorgeous site complimented by a facility that had all a holiday maker could want along with staff whose only desire is to make you feel special . Great menu across all restaurants, great drink list, very reasonable prices . A dream place for s relaxing holiday.

If someone told me in advance that we were getting our 2 suite rooms with stinking paintover, I would not have bothered to come to the rarotongan.we were here for 6 days. My family of 7 - 4 adults and my 3 grandsons with 2 under 9, we thought was a nice choice. Wrong!!! to arrive to freshly painted heavy odours that lingered in our rooms for the length of our stay. Nauseating complaints fell on defeating ears, along with no satisfaction apologies from front desk is a sign of tiredness. On top of that maintenance couldnt open the sliding door because of the sticky paint he said - so me and son in law did it ourselves plus these rooms come with the noisiest air cons.

After having to spend two nights at the sister hotel as the Rarotongan had double booked our room, we got into the room we had booked and paid for on the beach front. Room is very tired looking but comfortable. The front deck manager Tai was so unhelpful and to the point rude. We were given our keys that did not work. We spent the last 3 days there going back and forward to the front desk trying to re pin the cards. We just wasted so much time on trying to fix cards. The front desk manager Thai (Mama) is so rude and so unhelpful. Last night we spent hours waiting for them to open our safe eventually taking it away to cut it open. Overtime we went to re pin the cards there was at least one other person doing the same and last day took over an hour to check out, some poor guy almost in tears same problem with his safe & was flying out. Had called the front desk twice the night before. We didn't even get half back of the room difference hence over an hour to check out. This is truely the worst place I have every stayed. You can put up with a bit tired looking but man are the staff rude. We were yelled at by the night duty manager about our safe and the rest couldn't care. Yes there were the old friendly one but not many. Honestly do not waste your money here. Come on resorts wake up we spend a lot of money to come stay in Beautiful Raro but not sure Id be back. Certainly I would never set foot in this resort.

Had booked a week in Rarotonga early July and as there were not many options available (all booked out) we choose this Hotel as we had a group of 10 people (2 families). We had a booked a 2 bedroom interconnecting beachfront Villa. Both rooms were pretty standard, not a lot in the room besides a bed and a table with 2 chairs. Fortunately I had bought some plastic plates/platters and utensils, as there was not a lot provided. Unfortunately the week we were there it was very windy, - too windy to have dinner or drinks outside - we swam in the ocean twice as it was too rough for snorkelling, paddle boards, or to use the kayaks. Didn't venture into the pool - the ocean was warmer. Having travelled reguarly customer service is so important - and we didn't find the front desk staff particularly helpful - the staff in the bar were friendly - but we tended to go over to the Sanctuary (right next door ) as better service and a nicer atmosphere in the restaurant. I am glad breakfast was included in the price because I wouldn't have paid extra for it - same thing every day - a bit of variety would be good. Probably wouldn't stay here again - needs a bit of upkeep and improved customer service.

We only spent one night at the Rarotongan but our family were there for several nights. It's an appealing location with great facilities such as snorkelling gear, kayaks, super beach access, swimming pool, restaurant, pool table, kids club etc. But the rooms are tired and we found, quite noisy - lots of echo from neighbouring rooms. They're comfortable enough and adequately stocked - huge bed. Great buffet breakfast and adequate dining menu. Pretty good, obliging staff. Plenty for children to do

you certainly cant beat the location of this resort - snorkelling and amazing fish right off the beach, a good range of kayaks and other water equipment included and lots of other activies from scuba in the pool to island drumming lessons. We stayed in a beachside suite - good size for a family of 3-4, with a nice patio area out the front, straight onto the sand and only a few metres to the beach (no direct views as with the beachfront suites). whilst the suite itself was getting quite tired - could definitely do with a coat of paint and a new bathroom, it was a good base, the beds were comfortable and there was a fridge and microwave as well. Whilst there are no specific 'wheelchair accessible' rooms in the resort, the suites are all level and have plenty of space. there is either a bath in the bathroom, or a wooden ramp can be added to outdoor shower area (although the space is quite small). the rest of the resort is all very accessible via well made paths and ramps. the daily tropical breakfast was fine - some local tropical fruits but mostly imported items from NZ, nice pastries, pancakes every day plus cereals, bircher muesli and toast. more than enough to keep you going till lunchtime or beyond. i have posted a separate review of the restaurants but our main comment was there was no variety in menus across the various restaurant locations- and even the sister resort next door had the same menu! we would certainly visit again.

We called in for casual dining. The seafood platter is just the bomb, highly recommended. Great location with plenty of fish swimming around amongst the guests snorkelling. Enjoy the local beer while taking in the sunset.

Lovely beach, great location. Just a shame everything else on offer is average at best. Could be so much better if the operation was managed in a professional manner. The restaurant is fine, if your a kid or have no interest in eating fresh tasty food. Most of the staff are friendly but we encountered a very unpleasant front desk “manager” who was less then hospital on multiple occasions. Breakfast buffet was up there with the worst we’ve experienced. I literally skipped breakfast for a week. Internet dropped off in our room about every 1 minute and after enquiring about this was told it was because of the wind. (even though there was no wind). Spent $50 to upgrade and when I queried I was told that because I had started using it they would not refund it. Long story short, great location, some lovely staff, average food at best and some upper management staff should learn about customer service. This is not our fist rodeo.

This is an awesome place to bring the family Snorkeling is great and kid friendly. Service is warm and friendly. Rooms are well maintained and clean This can be a base or the destination Very relaxing
