We had 9 fantastic day at this great little tranquil resort , rooms have been updated and very clean and the gardens and grounds are beautiful shape the pool is wonderful, just a few quick steps to the beach for the best of swims , if you are looking for a quiet and calm spot on the Island this is the place .
We just spent 2 weeks at the Black Pearl and would love to come back again. The property is very clean and the staff is very friendly. We had a garden room, #11, that met all our needs. There was a nice deck, mini kitchen, and a large bathroom and bedroom. Jane was very helpful in guiding us to good local restaurants and sights to see. I would recommend a car to see the whole island for at least part of your stay. Buses do run once an hour around the island should you chose not to drive. Nice store and casual restaurant next door. The hotel had reef shoes and snorkel gear you can borrow and use on the nice beach across the street.
Nice and clean accommodation, big room, friendly staff, great swimming pool. Cafe next door as well as a grocery shop. The best sunsets are to be seen right across the road side at the beach. Nice friendly cat, I enjoyed my stay very much. Thank you
A wonderful couple of weeks at the Black Pearl. If you're looking for a quiet friendly place to unwind and you're not too worried about satellite TV and air con you'll probably like this place as much as we did. Great pool, beautiful tropical garden and a gate through to the beach across the road. Jane, Rangi and all the staff looked after us really well-took the time to talk and hang out-genuine Rarotongan hospitality. There's a shop and gas next door and good bars and restaurants close by. Hopefully we'll stay at the Black Pearl again soon. Thanks to all the staff.
The Black Pearl is an older, smaller resort, but that's definitely part of its charm. Beautiful, well-kept gardens give it a very private feel, and the rooms are spacious and clean. Most have been recently upgraded and the rest are slated to be done this year. The staff were warm and welcoming, and Jane and Rangi did a stellar job of arranging some weird and wonderful experiences for us. The resort is across the road from the beach, with a burger joint (great burgers, reasonably priced), ice cream stand and good grocery store right next door. A few steps away you can rent bicycles, scooters, or kayaks. The Black Pearl was our kind of place and we would most definitely book there again.
I’d recommend the Black Pearl for travellers to Roratonga. It’s clean, very well equipped. Right across the road from the ocean. Super convenience store and coffee shop right next door. A wonderful place to kick back and relax.
The Black Pearl is a small, well looked after resort located on the sunset side of Raro just across the road from the beach. It has a lovely garden setting and refreshing pool when it gets too hot. And Jane, Rangi and the team couldn't do a better job of looking after everything you might need.
Away from the hussle and bustle of Muri Beach is the Black Pearl. Close to the famous Wilsons Bar and a great new cafe called Beluga Cafe. Everything you need inside your motel unit. A small supermarket next door. The rooms a good size and the bed is comfortable. There is a swimming pool and the beach if just over the road. We enjoyed using the bbq available and also the outdoor covered pergola area.
The Black Pearl was fabulous and absolutely perfect for me; the friendly, helpful staff, the decor, the pool, location, everything was great. Set in a lovely tropical garden across the road from the beach, complete with a delicious fruit platter on arrival. My own kitchen facilities, next to a cafe, icecream and grocery shop. Loved it! :-) Thanks Jane.
Jane was most helpful when I contracted a chest infection. Everyone goes to the pharmacy rather than a doctor or hospital. She was great at suggesting terrific local things to go to like the progressive dinner. A must do.
