I took my Mum on her first overseas holiday here and she doesn't want to leave. Money absolutely well spent. Nick and the team at Te Vakaroa are so lovely and have literally thought of everything you could possibly want for an amazing and unforgettable holiday in Rarotonga. The amenities and location are perfect. Everything, down to the shampoo and conditioner, is impeccable. They made everything so easy and even let us stay a bit longer to catch our late flight back home. We had absolutely no stress at all, it was just perfect.

Stayed for 5 days here together with my wife and enjoyed every single second. The villa was highly luxurious, with a lot of space. We had breakfast included, and they were kind enough to insure to have some options for my vegan wife. The villas are literally on the Muri beach, with a private gate for access. Very close is the Night Market, with plenty choices of local food. Overall I highly recommend this place for a luxurious experience.

We had a two bedroom villa thet looked out onto the pool and beach from a veranda with lovely day beds lovely kichen with quality appliances also a mini bar very reasonable an amazing place highly recomended

We stayed here for 5 days and it was awesome!! Fabulous view of the lagoon, the pool was just lovely and so was the spa. Go through a gate and the lagoon is right there. The villa was clean, roomy and had everything you would need. We had lovely croissants for breakfast with fresh fruit. Very friendly staff, always smiling. On the other side of the villas is a cafe, good food, so convenient for dinners etc. Would definantly stay here again.

This was our 3rd time at Te Vakaroa and again another fantastic stay. Nick and his staff make you feel so at home and the villas are impeccably presented as usual. Such a peaceful relaxing location and so handy to everything Muri beach has to offer.

Luxury is hard to appraise. If you pay $500/night vs $400/night, can you really determine if the extra $100 is worth it? I have a hard time, especially if everything meets expectations and nothing was overlooked. Te Vakaroa met all expectations. My family and I (Mom had here own apartment, wife and I and the kids had another apartment) stayed at Te Vakaroa from May 5th to May 10th. It really is in the best spot on the island. Muri Beach has the lagoon and good food spots. When our flight from LA landed early Sunday morning, our driver, Chad, met us with a smile and took us to the store so we could pick up a few snacks and juices. The first person you meet when going to a new place can sometimes determine whether you start off your vacation good or bad. Chad got us in a good mood and welcomed us to the island as if we were a long lost friend. When we checked in, Nick greeted us and showed us around. He was very helpful, telling us about the property and amenities, and the places around the property. When we opened our door, we were impressed. The room had the most exceptional view and comfort. Refrigerator was stocked with juices and cream. Coffee (with French Press) dishes and veranda with the best view. Shortly breakfast arrived: baked croissants, passion fruit, island juice: perfect. I thought jet lag would do us in, but instead the family and I either dove into the salt pool or the big pool beyond. Te Vakaroa provided fins and snorkel so we could get to play right away. I came the Cook Islands 27 years ago. And I've been in the south pacific many times. I love to dive and snorkel and take in the Island-Life. Ukuleles, pina-colodas, seafood. Te Vakaroa fit my style. Right next door was Captain Tama's lagoon tours where around 11:00am, they started playing island music. And a couple blocks away was the Muri night market where you could sample island food from vendors offering all sorts of food from lamb curry, tiger prawns, strawberry crepes to cheesecake, eclairs and traditional island bbq pork and taro. Ok, here's my bottom line. If you come to Rarotonga and want to be assured of a no-hassle vacation, just stay at Te Vakaroa. Nick and crew will take care of you. Let me give you an example. On Friday night we were scheduled to take the 12 midnight flight back to Los Angeles. About 6pm we get a call from Nick who says our flight has been delayed by 3 hours. So he arranged to have our driver (Chad!) pick us up at 12 midnight instead of 9pm. So we got to spend 3 extra hours at our hotel instead of the airport. This is service. This is taking care of your customers. This is going above and beyond (thank you Nick!). There is one downside. The reef and snorkeling show the wear and tear of many visitors to the islands. To be expected. If you want the best snorkeling, from Te Vakaroa, go to the beach, go right about 1/2 mile and then head straight out to Taakoka island. That has the best snorkeling. That's where Captain Tama's took us (see review) to snorkel. How can Te Vakaroa improve? One small nitpick. Please provide three dishtowels instead of one. That's it. Hard to improve on near perfection. Kia Orana.

We have just come back from staying at Te Vakaroa Villas and I have to say for the first time ever we were not ready to come home. We had 18 idyllic days at this property and loved every single day. Nick, Poko, and the girls were the best. The rooms are as shown in the photographs and the pool is something else. We swam all the time, we preferred it to the beach although Muri Beach is a lagoon and very safe and easy to swim in. A rental car is a must and Nick has rental cars available at a better rate than the dealers. Staying in a small group of Villa's with less people is a plus, rather than a large resort. We were given a great breakfast every morning, were able to cook lunches but went out for dinner most nights with a late night swim in a beautifully lit pool before going to bed it was magic. Rarotonga is a great place to relax and after a busy year fantastic to chill out. We will definitely be back and will stay at Te Vakaroa Villas again. Make the booking you will not be disappointed. We can't wait to go again. A plus for us was they prefer adults and don't allow children under 12 years of age to stay there.

We decided to take all our family (four young adults/ teenagers) plus 2 extras to Rarotonga as we had been before and loved it, my one must have was to be based in Muri right on the beach. That’s exactly what you get here, we had 2 downstairs 1 bedroom villas and 1 upstairs 2 bedroom villas. The rooms are beautifully furnished and have everything you could need, the outdoor area is right outside your room and right on the beach, so the best of both worlds. Based on visiting a few other hotels on the island I feel that these villas are some of the best accommodation around and would definitely recommend. Muri beach has everything you need within walking distance and is a perfect base location in Rarotonga. Well done Nick,Des and Poko and all the other hardworking staff, hope to be back one day, minus the 6 teens !!!
