We stayed in Villa #2 for six nights. There are 6 villas, three downstairs and 3 upstairs. Our villa was perfectly situated as we had a view of the pool AND of the view. The view is stunning and I could look at it all day. We were so lucky with the weather (no rain at all) even though the forecast for months said rain everyday! Don't believe it. From the pick up at the airport, to check in and out the service was top notch. The villa is luxury (refrigerated air con much appreciated) and I looked forward to the breakfast which is included every day very much! The fairies (as we call housekeeping) visit everyday, and are in and out before you know they have been, they even do the dishes!! Everyone is very friendly. The property is very close to good restaurants, just walk up or down the beach. The bus stop, and the best burgers on Rarotonga (but that's another review) :-) There is also a corner shop for all your needs that is open 7 days a week. Captain Tamas is next door and we loved the 11am sing a long every day, giving you a real 'island' feel to your poolside experience! The water sports included was fantastic, as we snorkeled and kayaked every day, even trying paddle boarding (which is harder than it looks). The lagoon is on your doorstep and has some amazing varieties of fish on the far side of the island to the right of the property looking out over the lagoon. You can forgo paying for a lagoon cruise, just snorkel yourself! The pool is so clean, and is nice just to sit by and enjoy the view. The outdoor setting outside our villa door was a fantastic spot to sit at night and have a relaxing night cap. The grounds are very well kept. I was very sad to have to leave this island paradise.
Lovely villa with everything you need. Exit onto the beach and a view to die for. Good breakfast. Air con. Friendly, helpful staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Great attitude. Such a relaxing place. Be aware internet and telephone charges are high on the islands. No 3G or 4G. Have to use hotspots. Snorkelling in Aroa beach, a short ride away was amazing. Fantastic value for money. Poko in the office was amazing, she sorts anything you need.
If we were ever able to return to Rarotonga this is where we would stay. Again. Lovely condo with comfy bed and kitchen. I don't think you'd call it a kitchenette because it had all dishes and pots & pans, full size refrigerator, oven, stove, microwave and dishwasher. It also had coffee and a coffeemaker. We never heard our neighbors, but we did hear the guys at Captain Tama's (next door) singing and playing every morning. We loved it. My back didn't enjoy the bed the first night so they traded the mattress and it was fine. They brought a decent breakfast on a tray every morning. There are several places to eat within walking distance. Be sure and go to the Night Market where there are lots of booths and many choices for dinner. It's all outdoors and there are lots of tables and chairs. There were no mosquitoes! And I can safely say that because if there was one within 20 miles it would have found my husband. There is a small grocery store next door but there was not much that was familiar to us Americans. We were on the ground floor and we spent much of our time on the patio. Two comfy couches and a view to die for. Writing this review makes me want to book a flight back to Rarotonga...
A beautifully designed spacious and private villa with a picture postcard view, this is a great place to wake up on your first day in the Cooks. Designed like a Balinese villa and located next to the night markets, Te Vakoroa set a very high bar for our holiday - Etu Moana may have just pipped them, but this is really a quality place
My boyfriend and I recently stayed at Te Vakaroa Villas. The villas offer multiple convenient features, are mostly well-maintained, and most importantly, I felt safe. Customer service is excellent, and this place was a great find. First, the villas are located in the middle of Muri Beach. There are multiple restaurants, spas, entertainment options within walking distance. Te Vera Nui Village, a cultural show, is 2 minutes walk away. There is a restaurant, named Sails, literally across the walkway, and Captain Tama's, a water-sports rental/cruise company, shares an adjacent wall to the villas. The night market is 2 minutes away. One could basically find everything within Muri Beach and not have to leave the whole duration of vacation. If you do have to leave, there is a bus stop 1 minute walk away! As for the accommodation itself, the villas are beautiful and also provide a great deal of convenience. The interior design is very modern, from the bathroom design to the furniture selection. The villa itself is essentially an apartment. Ours was 1 bed, 1 bath and had a kitchen, living area as well as a back patio leading directly to the pool. They have a sink in the kitchen and also a sink by the washer and dryer. They also stock the shelves with alcohol, should you want to consume any. There is a mini refrigerator, stove, microwave, dishwasher and possibly oven (I didn't fully evaluate the kitchen amenities). All the cabinets are fully stocked with dishware. There are couple sliding doors at various doorways: one door is a glass door and the other is a shutter and screen door. This was nice since it allowed us to use the screen/shutter door while still experiencing the nice ocean air, free of mosquitos and bugs. If we closed the glass, we were able to seclude ourselves from the outside elements, turn on the AC, and eliminate the humidity! The only downside to the sliding doors is its locking mechanisms. The lock is slightly difficult to maneuver, especially with the humidity that makes it more sticky and prevents the lock from gliding smoothly. Some of the doors have been beat up from prior use so getting the lock into the hole can also be a small challenge. As for the shutters, again, the humidity makes it extremely difficult to open and close them. They have also sustained mild damage from prior use and makes it more difficult to use. One other thing they could improve upon is the cleanliness. Overall, the place was well-cleaned, but there were few things that detracted from it. These items include: stains on our white towels/sheets, flooring was sticky and had some sand in it when we first checked in, random fluid/stains on our toilet. I highly value cleanliness so these issues put a damper on my opinion of the villas. I would have to take half a star away but since half stars is not an option and 4 star isn't enough, I am giving this property a 5. The property does offer a pool and hot tub, both of which overlook the lagoon and beach. It's an infinity pool. The view is AMAZING!!!!! I think I saw a grill, but it was covered, and I didn't feel like uncovering it. There is an outdoor shower for rinsing off. There is a door in the back of the property leading directly to the beach and lagoon. The whole property is closed off by doors with locks on them, and I felt very safe here. They do have free wifi, but it is limited to a certain amount of megabytes. FYI: Cook Island internet access if VERY LIMITED and to continue accessing it, you will likely have to purchase additional data. We had difficulties accessing the wifi in our bedroom, presumably from the concerete walls, but had great connection on our patio/anywhere on the property that was outside. It was a slight hassle, but we got over it. There is also on-site car rental from a locally owned company. The cherry on top: they deliver a tray with breakfast every morning. This is my favorite!!! They do not offer a spa or gym but the front desk is more than happy to arrange any tours, reservations, or appointments for you. There is not a person in the front office 24/7, but there are phone numbers you can call if assistance is needed. They do offer transport to and from the airport. Everyone on the property was very nice, from the driver to the ladies who straightened up our room, front desk, and Nick, the general manager! (Hi Nick!) We had the same staff every day during our stay, which made it nice since we got to know a few people. Everyone was extremely helpful and went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. The service was top-notched!
We stayed here 6 nights and must say that the place is really amazing. Best in all the are. Everything in the villa is perfect in all details As well for the Swimming pool and jacuzzi Too bad for the weather. It rained 4 days out of 6. However suggest the villa.
Lovely hotel. Close to the sea. Beautiful view from the infinitypool. Close to the muri 'city' with shops, night market is a must, beach, activities, restaurants. Friendly housekeeping and Poko was always willing to help. M&M
Stayed recently.Villa was perfect-appreciated the air con!Excellent service from all staff-great to chat to Nick and find he is a true Naki lad!! Perfect location for all meals and great coffees, not to mention the cocktails. Definitely recommend!
We stayed here after staying in Aitutaki, and it was a great change of pace. The Villas are beautiful, comfortable, and relaxing, while in the center of Muri beach with great access to food and activities. The beds are incredibly luxurious! The air conditioning works very well! The complementary breakfasts arrived on time and were more than enough to eat and delicious.
We stayed for 6 nights in April 2017. The location is beautiful and the facilities are excellent. Nick and Poko are a pleasure to deal with and were readily available to assist with hire car options, places to eat and generally things to do - other than relax by the magnificent pool! My wife was ill on the third day - Nick immediately lent us a car to get to the local hospital and regularly checked on us throughout the remainder of our stay. I would recommend Te Vakaroa Villas to anyone wanting to stay at a peaceful 5 star location.
