We were pleasantly surprised by the spacious, clean, and perfectly located seaside beach villa. Just exactly as pictured on their website, maybe even better! Everything here top notch: View, bed, linens, daily housekeeping staff, and especially the ladies at the front desk who act as concierge /management. They were so awesomely helpful and let you know all your options, very knowledgeable on local anything., and with good attitudes to boot. On site laundry/ dryer machines came in handy, kayaks and everything you need are onsite and plentiful- from snorkel gear to reef shoes! Cable tv! Air conditioning! Felt sorry for others we met who stayed at lessor venues. Like home, but better. Kitchen with cooking facilities, refrigerator, etc. you can’t go wrong here.
Forget Tahiti…Forget Bora Bora…Forget Fiji…Forget Vanuatu…For the best South Pacific experience you simply must visit Rarotonga and the incomparable Sea Change Villas. This amazing boutique resort is tranquil and relaxed – not at all pretentious. The villas are immaculate and tastefully decorated. Plus the entire management and staff are incredibly friendly and extremely knowledgeable about what to do and where to go on the island. The lagoon is spectacular with its marine life literally just outside the Beach Villas’ doors. Imagine snorkeling, kayaking, and paddle boarding steps away from the villas, not to mention relaxing on what amounts to your own private beach. There aren’t enough words to describe how beautiful and special Sea Change Villas Resort is. This was our third visit and it surely won’t be our last. Many thanks to Beverley, Craig, Stephanie and the entire Sea Change Villas staff for another wonderful and memorable holiday.
We spent a wonderful week on Rarotonga at the Sea Change. Starting with the pickup at the airport, food stocked in the villa- it had everything we could need. Very friendly and helpful staff- arranging dinner reservations, tours, car rental - anything you could want. Thank you Steph! The sound of the waves lulled us to sleep every night. There is so much to do and see on the island and yet the relaxed pace is wonderful. We will definitely be back.
I couldn't rave enough about our amazing visit with Sea Change Villas! We arrived 6 days before our wedding and we're greeted by beautiful staff. Stephanie and Bev are so friendly and there to help with any of your needs. The rooms were so spacious and immaculately clean. The private pool was such a luxury! They have amazing beach front views, but we opted for a lagoon view which was a short minute walk to the beach. They had all the fun toys available; paddle boards, kayaks, snorkels for free use anytime. Our wedding was on their beach on a very hot and sunny day. Thanks to the staff and our wedding planner Andrea, the day was everything we ever could have hoped for. We had breakfast and a sunset BBQ in the room which were 5 star delicious meals. Thank you Sea Change for the great experience and perfect memories!
From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, there is not one negative comment we could make about Sea Change Villas. We stayed up the back in villas 7-9. We had a large family holiday, there was 14 of us and I must say there was ample room for all of us. From the moment we were picked up at the airport and taken to our villas which were ready early because of the early flight, to the scrumptious food awaiting our arrival, we thought we were in heaven. Beverley and Steph are a fountain of information whether it be to organising tours, dinner, car rentals or were to shop, just ask and they will point you in the right direction. Beverley, Steph, Michael and all the crew, keep up the fantastic job you are all doing. We will all be back to visit in the near future.
We booked a honeymoon package with Sea Change Villas and we don't regret it. It was so easy from the personalised pick up from the airport, to not having to check in at the Villa. The accommodation was superb and the bed was so comfortable. Everything we would ever need or want and more. It was great having our own personal swimming pool in the back yard. We were so spoilt by everything Stephanie and Beverley did for us to make sure our honeymoon was the best. They arranged everything we needed. The food, the people, the activities..... all amazing. We can't wait to go back
I’ve always felt guilty that I didn’t write a review the first time we stayed at Sea Change Villas in 2014, so I vowed I’d write one this time. As a celebration for our daughter graduating from college, we stayed at Sea Change for 2 weeks in June 2014. When I asked our son where he’d like to go in the world as a celebration for graduating from high school - Europe, Japan, etc - without hesitation, he said he wanted to go back to Sea Change Villas in Rarotonga. This time, we went right after Christmas. We took a direct flight on Air New Zealand from Los Angeles to Rarotonga (Air NZ has one flight a week to/from the island, so much less travel than going through Auckland and the money you save in air travel offsets the extra days you stay at Sea Change). We arrived early in the morning, and were greeted at the airport by a personal van ride to Sea Change, complete with delicious smelling leis made of freesias and a glass of champagne (all complimentary and arranged by Sea Change). This time, we were only able to stay for a week, but like last time, it was a week in paradise. We stayed in the same villa as last time - the 2-bedroom villa on the beach. It was so nice to wake up, have a cup of coffee on the deck while watching the waves crash out on the edge of the lagoon. We’d just put on our bathing suits, grab snorkeling equipment (large stock available free of charge) and walk onto the beach for some of the best snorkeling on the island. Perfectly safe, and tons of fish to see! Our son preferred paddle-boarding (also free) out to the edge of the lagoon. The best part was gathering on the deck at the end of the day to talk, joke around, and savor the beauty. We’re the type of travelers who like to immerse ourselves in the local culture, rather than stay at an all-inclusive resort that could be located anywhere in the world. We rode bikes 5 minutes to the nearby grocery store to pick up a few simple supplies. The choices are quite limited (think hot dogs and spaghetti) but I was on vacation too, so didn’t want to spend time cooking. Hanging out on the deck at the end of the day more than made up for the simple meals, and was so much more relaxing than going out to dinner every night. We did go out a few times, and the nearby restaurants were all exceptionally good. The villa was spotless (and the staff cleans it daily), and was stocked with enough food to get by that first morning - milk, cereal, juice, bread, coffee, wine and beer - so as soon as we arrived, we could simply relax. The water is filtered, so you don’t have to drink bottled water. The staff is exceptionally professional and non-intrusive. They gave us a thorough run down on the villas, suggest activities, and patiently answer all questions. In the weeks leading up to our arrival, they suggested outings and scheduled them in advance. They got us a great deal on a car rental - literally less than half the price of what I was able to find - and arranged so we picked up the car at the villa, and when we drove the car a short way back to the rental agency, they delivered us back to the villa. There’s also bikes available (again, free), and busses run both ways around the island (20-miles circumference) on a regular basis for about $3.50 US one way. If you decide to visit the Cook Islands, I highly recommend the Atutaki day trip, as well as the cross island hike (a guided hike - make sure you wear permethrin-infused clothing and 35% deet on exposed skin because of mosquitoes). We had no issues with mosquitoes at the villa. They come out very early morning or after sunset. Breezes can keep them away most of the time (mosquitoes are poor fliers) but we’d usually close up the villa after dark and stay inside (there’s air conditioning in the villa). Again, I can’t speak highly enough of Sea Change Villas. They’ve received numerous awards over the years, and I can attest that they are well-deserved.
Thank you for an amazing stay!! The Sea Change Villas are a magical place. The villas are perfect; the beach is breath-taking. Your hospitality has been a tremendous gift to us. We are truly grateful. We hope to be back soon.
We celebrated my husbands 60th at Sea Change Villas. It was a family celebration and the Executive villas were amazing. Had everything you could need for a self catering holiday plus ping pong for a rainy day. We then moved to an ocean view villa. Amazing! Perfect for a special holiday!
This is the first time in my experience of traveling that the photos of a place have corresponded exactly to reality. Walking through the door of our beachfront villa and seeing the lagoon *right there* outside the sliding doors is a image I won't forget in a hurry. The villa itself was very well appointed, clearly outfitted by someone who has traveled before. Every time we wanted to do something in this self-catering setup, such as cook eggs, make nice coffee, drink bubbly out of a proper glass, the tools were all there. There were even pegs for the washing line. The lagoon was 11 steps down from the deck and we made use of the snorkeling gear, reef shoes and canoes during our stay. We sat on the deck for hours, sat in bed looking at the view, and on the couch (carefully positioned to allow lounging while looking at the view). It was extremely quiet (except for the road, but even that wasn't that bad), with hardly any people coming past on the beach or in the lagoon outside. The preparation for our arrival by Steph and the team was excellent. We were staying over Christmas when many places were closed, and the bus wasn't running, so Steph organized a rental car, sent us menus for resorts open at Christmas and got us booked on a couple of activities. The transfer from the airport was also flawless. We appreciated being given the use of the villa for our whole last day as well. This place is amazing and we had a fantastic time. We most certainly will be back.
