We stayed in a Seaview room for 10 days from the end of October. We were extremely happy with our choice, recommended by our travel agent. All the staff members we encountered were helpful and friendly. The gardens are beautiful and very well maintained. The position of the resort is perfect - on Muri Beach at a part where there are few rocks close to shore. And very handy to useful facilities: two cafes which each provided wonderful coffee, burger joint across the road, the night market next door. Plus a bus stop at the gate. The availability of bikes, kayaks, snorkel gear etc as part of the cost was a bonus. We didn’t mind the roosters crowing - all part of the experience and we weren’t woken. The unit itself was comfortable and provided everything we needed. If we return to Rarotonga, as we hope to do in the future, we would stay at the Beachcomber again.
Muri Beachcomber was absolutely great. We didn't have to worry about renting kayaks, standup paddleboards, snorkle gear or beach shoes--they had it all there (and it was always available, and in kids sizes too). There were kids' beach toys as well. The staff at Muri Beachcomber were fantastic. There were a few baby chicks who kept coming after us and we were able to move to another unit, which solved the problem. The free airport pickup/drop-off was a big perk. Throughout our stay, we felt like we were treated like friends or family. The location can't be beat, although it's not secluded so it may be best for families or friends, or couples who are interested in potentially chatting with those around them. We liked the numerous food options within walking distance, especially the breakfast special at Delicious, a 2 min. walk away. We would stay here again in a heartbeat and will look for an opportunity to return to paradise!
My wife and I stayed at Muri for a week, whilst visiting for a wedding of a friend. We stayed in a seaview unit, that was perfectly furnished with a super comfy bed, clean bathroom and a little kitchenette (which proved useful for the day it wouldn't stop raining and we cooked ourselves dinner). The Beachcomber is directly on the beach, just a couple of steps to the lagoon, with paddle boards and kayaks just waiting for you to grab and see the wonderfully clear waters around the islands. The staff were amazingly friendly, and a big call out to Shelley who was always happy to help us book trips, restaurants etc (as the mobile telephone system was temporarily down!). Nothing was too much trouble, and it made us feel completely relaxed and able to enjoy a week slice of paradise! We had friends stay in the poolside accommodation, with two small children, and they loved it too. The safe deck area and pool was perfect to keep them amused and safe! Beachcomber immediately neighbours the Muri night market, perfect for cheap feeds, and close to loads more great places to eat. It was also great to have the bikes freely available, and I would definitely recommend cycling the inland road north to avarua, no traffic, beautiful scenery, lovely locals!
Stayed here 8 nights in September in a beachview bungalow. Great location, supermarkt, nightmarket, restaurants en scooter rental nearby. Beautiful beach (you can make really long beachwalks) and great snorkelling. Staff is really nice and always willing to help you! Good quality bikes available for guests. Only thing missing was a mosquito net in the bedroom. Unfortunally I was their fueling station at night. Evertything else perfect, would love to come back here!
Location is fantastic - the best swimming in Muri from what we saw walking either direction down the beach, and right next to a convenience store, ATM, car/scooter rental place, cafe, and night market (4x a week). The property is long though, so when you're near the rooms or by the beach, you don't get noise from the street. AC works well and there are kayaks and bikes for guest use included in the price.
This is a superbly located place. We stayed as a group with the villas in a circle facing the water. Amazing place to go as a group or on your own. The grounds are really well kept, you're directly on the beach, night market is out the back 3 nights a week (noise not an issue however as it's a fair way back). And there are a million chickens roaming around, some I could feed from my hands.
We rented a sea-view bungalow for several days in September. We found the resort to be well managed with available equipment to be in good condition: kayaks, bicycles, kitchen appliances, laundry, swimming pool. The rooms and grounds were kept clean and neat. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful, We found our stay to be relaxing and quiet. It would be good to return sometime.
We are definately booking this place again. The beach view units are well appointed with perfect views of the beach beyond the yard. You fall asleep and wake up each morning to the sound of the waves. We love how you can opt to take part in 'conservation today for tomorrow' . Normally the cleaning staff come in and give your room a throrough clean each day but you have the option to have the cleaners only change your towels each day or leave your room alone altogether, just by hanging a coloured card on your door hook. Location wise you couldn't ask for better. The beach is perfect as is the swimming pool. Muri nightmarkets are right next door. Across the road from Muri Beachcomber is world famous Vili's Burgers.LBV is 30 seconds down the road and Sails restaurant (you need to try the calamari) is a minute walk away, as is the ATM machine and dairy. If you would like to explore further afield then you can use the bikes at the venue free of charge or you can walk across the road to hire a car. We are definately coming back here next year because the staff are great, the location is perfect and the amenities are awesome. Their departure lounge is air conditioned and guests can use the shower inside to freshen up prior to their afternoon flight. You get used to the roosters and the baby chicks are just delightful. Dont' forget to give the two resident cats a good rub behind the ears.
We stayed here for six nights in August. We were picked up from and taken back to the airport by the resort, as part of our package. We had a lovely one bedroom bungalow with a full kitchen, lounge and dinning area. No TV though, but we didn't miss it. The bedroom was quite large with a comfortable bed and large wardrobe. The bathroom was nice with a good shower. It was all very clean. Continental breakfast was provided each morning and we bought some extra cereal to supplement it. The rooms were cleaned each day, but you could opt out by putting a sign in the window if you did not need a service. They still put your breakfast and juice in your bungalow. There are laundry facilities available. The resort has a pool and use of kayaks on the beach. . There is a BBQ to share between each two bungalows. Loungers are just outside on the patio. This resort is very quiet and so suited us. The owners were very nice and very helpful and helped us book a tour and made suggestions on what to do. Muri is a lovely location to stay in as there is lots to do. The beach is just lovely. There are several shops close by and cafes too, as well as a small supermarket, and two car hire places. The Night Market is next door to the resort and the cultural event centre is five minutes walk away. The island bus stops right outside the resort. This resort doesn't have a restaurant as it is self catering, but there are lots of places to eat in Muri and the Night Market is on several nights a week. Everyone staying there was very friendly and we swapped details with one couple. We hired a convertible car one day which was great fun as I didn't fancy the idea of the scooters. We would certainly go back. Most accommodation is fairly expensive in Raro and this was mid range.
2nd time at this divine place. The staff are just as friendly as they were 3 1/2 years ago. We stayed in a seaview unit. It was clean and tidy and the view from your veranda looked out to Muri Beach. I would not hesitate to choose this place again. It is close Lagoon tours, restaurants and other resorts. Rental companies for Scooters or cars within walking distance. Cafes and restaurants within walking distance as well and for a quick easy meal it is right next door to the Muri Market where you can get a meal 4x a week at around $15.00 a meal. Kayaks, paddle boards and snorkeling gear all supplied.
