My sister and I stayed at the Moana Sands Villas in 2016 and had a fabulous holiday and were extremely comfortable and the service was great. We had our own queen size bedrooms and our own on suites . Wayne and his staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The only disappointing thing was that we didn't stay long enough so this year we stayed for 15 days and still didn't want to come home. We must take this opportunity to mention one of Wayne's staff Enjelin La. Enjelin was an amazing lady who took care of our every need not only did she carry out her daily tasks to a very high standard but assisted me when I became unwell. Enjelin recommended a doctor and checked every day to see how I was doing, she was a great tour quide telling us great places to explore. Enjelin made us feel like we were the best quests ever and I'm have no doubt that all the quests felt the same. If we go back next year we are hoping that Enjelin will still be working there Wayne is very lucky to have such an amazing lady working there.

We had 5 nights here . We had upstairs unit and the view from the deck was lovely. We had no problem with the room everything was well laid out and comfortable bed and good shower. . A little noisy at times from rooms next to us with people showing no respect and dragging chairs across the tiled floor but did not last too long. We ate at this place most of the time as had its own restaurant and the staff were lovely. my only criticism was that the continental breakfast included in the price was very basic . fruit salad that everyone ate and not refilled up plates of sliced up apple turning brown which no one ate or the paw paw. There were plenty of cereals and toast . All they needed to have was a large bowel of fruit salad and some small pots of yoghurt to go with it and the cereals and it would of been perfect . It was a bit disappointing to find no one on the desk most of the time and so phone messages or when family called in to see us no message was given to us in person that they called in .. Apart from that the hotel is very nice to stay in .

Lets start with the best thing about this little hotel, the view from the, room. All the rooms have magnificent vistas, across the beach to the lagoon and on to the breakers on the reef. In the ground floor units you step out your door, onto the deck and the straight onto the beach. The upper rooms have a little more privacy and require you to go down the stairs and around the building to access the beach, not very arduous. The rooms themselves are quite basic, a king bed, separate bathroom and a couple of chairs and a table, standard motel style. They appear to have recently been renovated and were very clean with nice linen and towels, adequate but not luxurious. The staff, as with most places in the Cook Islands, were extremely friendly and helpful and were happy to accommodate any request. The deal with the hotel included breakfast, which, like the room, was basic but more than adequate for our needs. The restaurant itself served very nice and tasty, reasonably priced food and drink. Two or three times a week there was live entertainment in the form of someone playing an instrument and singing, very pleasant. My only criticism would be that the menu was never changed, which meant for someone like me, who does not eat meat, the choices were quite limited. Overall, I would say this an excellent hotel for a quiet relaxing holiday for snorkeling and swimming in the lagoon, relaxing on the beach and as a base to explore the rest of the Island.

Please! Dont stay in room 603! unless there are, no guests, booked above you in the upstairs apartment. THERE IS NO SOUND INSULATION, and if people walk around during the night the crunch, crack sound, will stop you from sleeping. Twice emailed, and only received an email to say they have received our complaint, but no other concern or apology has come after waiting now for two months. We had poor, sleep, and a ruined holiday, went home more tired than we arrived. shame as its a great beach. Pick up from the airport, and after dropping off many other guests, and driving the long way around the island took way longer, recommend a rental car from the airport, the whole process will get you to your hotel faster, especially if more than one plane arrives at the same time. Our family we traveled with stayed at Cooks Beach Villas, now that was awesome!

Just got back from 5 nights at this little paradise with my husband and almost 2 year old. What a wonderful place this is! We arrived at midnight with our transfer waiting. The driver gave us lots of pointers about the island and places to visit. We woke the next morning to the most incredible view. Location cannot be beaten! We swam at many different places around the island and the beach at the hotel doorstep was as good as any! Snorkeling gear and kayaks are also readily available which was lots of fun! Staff were super helpful and friendly. Our stroller was left behind at the airport and, wishfully thinking, we asked the reception if they had one. One of the staff members drove home and lent us her old stroller for a few days until ours arrived. We were also offered a couple of rides from Wayne the manager when the local bus was a while off. Rooms were kept clean and tidy by the friendly housekeepers. Breakfast was basic but did the job. Would have loved for the hotel to have had a dayroom with a shower to wash off and clean up before our flight (as we left at 1am), but hey, you can't win them all. Definitely recommend staying at Moana Sands.

We stayed down the street in the sister location that housed the apartments and villas. Our 2 bedroom apartment was spacious and the view from our large balcony was picturesque and looked right onto the lagoon. The property is located across the street from Wigmores and there is a small cafe located at the front of the property. I would recommend setting aside some time for the spa services. The staff was very attentive and very friendly and welcoming. I made use of the kayak that was provided and enjoyed it and the beach looked like it belonged on a post card. I would definitely stay here again whenever I come back.

Stayed here for a week, its a lovely hotel overlooking the ocean, check in was a delight after the long flight from Sydney, the female staff are very friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them, they had our room organised by 10am, even loaded our phones with the local SIms. Room was very clean and serviced every day. Had no problem with the food or drinks either which is served in the restaurant at the front or at the rear, overlooking the beach, also the breakfast was fresh fruit or cooked eggs and bacon whichever you prefer. Night markets are a couple of Klms down the road as is 'Charlies' cafe which is worth a visit. It definitely was the staff here that makes your visit so pleasant, give it a try.

Stayed at the moana sands beach villa across from wigmores super market. Rooms were beautiful there was 16 of us who I booked in to stay here. The rooms were clean and tidy, rooms were service everyday. Staff were so helpful Wayne and the girls who worked at the villas. The massages were amazing done by the Balinese lady. Beach is right in front of the villas .. kayaks, snorkels and beach loungers were available.. we also left 17 pairs of sands shoes with them to hire or give to family or guests. Wigmore stores sold delicious island food the fresh hot donuts especially. I would recommend families and large groups to stay here at the sands I will be staying here when I return Thank you moana sands you were over my expectations.

The hotel's area is private, quiet and better beach. Better than Muri beach. The hotel has upgraded the rooms, the shower is really good - decent warm water but the bed is average. The restaurant and bar next to it "the island" serves good meals I'll rate it to $$. Compare to other restaurant it can cost you to $$$-$$$$. There breakfast theme is tropical brekkie . Toast and fruits and the local brewed coffee. We usually go to a cafe to have a decent brekkie which can cost you from $19 to $22 I'll suggest to hire a scooter so you have freedom to go around. Bus is an option but they don't operate on Sunday so you'll get stuck in your hotel. The beach where the Moana hotel located is very clean. The Muri beach is overcrowded, very busy and the water wasn't clean as the titikaveka beach. Most area in Muri beach is full of Big SLUG!!! Ewweee!!!! Hahaha Enjoy your holiday, I hope you find this review helpful to you. Cheers!

The stay at this hotel had highs and lows. The highs were the terrific view from the hotel room on the second floor, the friendly staff and the reasonably good rooms. The lows were a deal breaker. I was woken up twice during my six day stay to drunken revellers in the restaurant bar after 10pm and last night (a Monday night) at 12.30am. There is no night manager at this hotel. The result is no control of noise, as the restaurant bar is separate to the hotel. Good luck complaining in the morning! Breakfast as provided in our package "free breakfast" was adequate but not delivered to the seving table in a timely manner at 8am when the doors to the restaurant open (some would say an hour late if you have tours to attend). Would I go back or reccomend this hotel to other travellers? No!
