What a wonderful little place. Beautiful clean and spacious room. White sand beach and brilliant snorkeling just outside the door. The staff were warm and friendly and the food was amongst the best on the island.
We had our 40th Anniversary at a beachfront villa at Little Polynesian. It was absolutely amazing. The view is beautiful and always changing. The kayaks made it possible to see the sunset from the lagoon. We could snorkel directly in front of our room. The food was delicious with wonderful options nearby. Best of all was the staff, and the personal attention from the owner. If we could afford it, we would go back.
We had a two night stop over at Little Polynesian before heading over to Aitutaki. We were very impressed with the Garden Studio unit. It was very clean and had a lovely private outdoor area. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The beach at the front of the resort was lovely also.
We couldn't be happier with our stay at the delightful Little Poly for our honeymoon! We stayed in a beachfront bungalow & although the weather didn't cooperate for the whole duration (super windy!) we loved the resort! The staff are just amazing with a special mention to Jeunta & April who were so warm, friendly with excellent service! The bungalow facilities were great, comfortable bed & we also loved the outside spa! Snorkelling out the front was fantastic! A few little improvements could be made - the food was a bit hit or miss & the cocktails seemed to be very different depending on the person making them but this is very minor for probably the best place to stay on Raro!
The Little Poly is amazing. We stayed here this week and enjoyed every moment of it. The people are very warm and friendly, the bungalows well appointed and the beach and lagoon are brilliant. It was like living in a tourist brochure! Meals were also excellent. Other than the price which is a bit steep, I can't fault this place - if you are not happy here, check your pulse.
I was here with my wife during our honeymoon. The room was fantastic, clean(2 time per day) and comfortable. Staff very polite and always available for everything. Location fantastic, a few meters from the oceans and a 2-3 kilometers from the Muri Beach, where every evening you can find local shows or local street food. The breakfast is something not exciting. We have had a little problem just with the weather, cloudy and windy, probably august is not the best period.
We stayed in a beachfront bungalow at this resort for 14 days, hoping for some R&R and sun. The weather only cooperated for 6 days, but our beautiful accommodation was a great place to tuck into even so. Heaps of space, well appointed, comfortable furniture, great bathroom and a fantastic view. But as wonderful as the facility was, it was topped by the amazing staff. We can honestly say that every single one of them--from Manager Nan to housekeeper Mata--not only did their jobs well, but their personal care and attention to detail made even a windy, cool holiday one to remember. The quality of food and refreshments was great. Instead of getting bored with breakfast, we looked forward to seeing what amazing fruit was being offered that day. The fantastic Suzie and Marilyn remembered our preferences (even to the extent of removing the dried bananas from the delicious granola!) and made us feel like treasured guests. Jiuta's cocktails in the afternoon were soooo good, and the treats and good cheer that April delivered during turndown service in the evening were wonderful.
Convenient location with guest parking. Efficient staff. The garden rooms are very basic, definitely not luxurious and are quite dark with small, dark bathroom having just fixed wooden louvre openings over insect screen and a lot of trees and plants outside blocking any natural light. My husband found it difficult to see well enough to shave. Our room had an enclosed courtyard with 2 sun loungers however received no sun at all due to the trees overhead and the neighbouring property, so I had to drag the lounger out on to the path outside in the garden area to get any sun, but of course no privacy. The garden outlook outside our room was part garden beds and part undeveloped /general maintenance area - see photos. Not very pleasant. The views you see in the brochure/website are genuine but they don't show you any of the negative aspects. Rooms are overdue for an upgrade with the worst aspect being the bed which gave me a bad back by the second night. There is a raised ridge up the centre, presumably where the bed can be separated into 2 singles, and one side sagged considerably more than the other. We ended up both sleeping on the less saggy side which was hot and uncomfortable. It might be a good idea for management to spend 2 or 3 nights actually sleeping in each room, as while things can look ok on the surface, lots of the issues are not immediately apparent unless you are living in the space. We had some maintenance issues while at Little Polynesian, although staff attended promptly to the flood from the shower (water flooded out into the bathroom instead of going down the drain) and the fridge that leaked out onto the floor overnight. This soaked the rug which was taken away and never replaced. The dimmer switches for the bedside lights didn't work, there were flat batteries in the remote for the aircon which meant we were stuck with it on icy cold that night, unable to turn it up, or off until staff arrived the next day (reception is not manned overnight), a tear in one of the insect screens so the louvres on that window couldn't be used, the safe didn’t lock and couldn’t be sorted out until the manager visited the site later in the day with his master key. As mentioned, everything was attended to promptly but there were far too many problems and it was not a relaxing, comfortable stay at all. For a similar price you would be better booking a garden room at the Pacific Resort where we have stayed several times previously. Both resorts are part of the same group, and the rooms, especially bathrooms at the Pacific are much nicer, with far better resort facilities. We stayed at 3 different resorts this trip as we booked quite late and resorts were full due to being NZ school holidays. This trip included an enjoyable stay at the Crown beach resort and for a lower cost per night we had a lovely room double the size of little Polynesian, with a private pool and large bathroom with shower plus rainhead shower, bath, twin basins etc. We would not stay at little Polynesian again. There are much better options on Rarotonga for the same price. We were definitely looking forward to moving out of the Little Polynesian.
Thank you to the staff of Little Polynesian for making our stay such a pleasant one. We enjoyed the room right on the water and the food was excellent. We were on a Luxury Escape and everything we were offered was included. It was a shame that the weather didn't play ball.
Great view, great service (not sure of his name but he was amazing. He remembered our names every time and treated us like royalty!) little things like that really make your visit special. We dined twice for dinner & once for breakfast. Eggs benes were 5/5 and the. Hi ken salad for $18.50 was huge! Drinks (cocktails) a little ruthless but that didn't stop us ordering afew too many. Pork wrap, burger, ika mata & pork belly were also all delish.
