Very quiet and clean place. The bungalows are surrounded by greenery where you can see the beautiful hornbills eating bananas. There is a restaurant area overlooking a beautiful lake with lotus flowers. The owner Lek is very kind and is always present to help his guests organize trips and give useful advice. The staff is also very friendly and the food is really good.
We stayed here for a 3 week trip to the island. The owner was accommodating when we could not arrive due to a storm disrupting travel and he refunded us for the 2 nights we could not arrive. (Which you would expect but he could for said no.) We stayed in a wooden bungalow however the first night he had let someone else have our room so we had to be located at the back of the resort in a lower quality room and then he moved us to our correct room the following day. The bungalow we stayed in for the rest of the stay overlooked the lake, and there was a small paddle boat you could go out on if you wanted for free. Everyday we were given free small bottles of drinking water and they emptied the rubbish and then every 3 days they changed towels and gave us shampoo and soap sachets. If you wanted it doing more you could request it. There is a communal seating area next to the lake this was where most people hang out for shade or eating from the restaurant or using wifi as there is no wifi in the rooms. Then there is one main table outside the kitchen for eating however this is not very welcoming and so we never sat there. They had hot water in flasks next to the kitchen which we made full use of and made our own coffee everyday and porridge with this water...this was free. The food in the restaurant was nice but to be honest we eat out at cheaper eats as we were on a budget and the places we ate at was just as good. There is no electric in the rooms from 9am in the morning till 6pm...which is fine unless you get ill and need to hang out in your room as its hot. When there is power its from a generator which can fluctuate and can be detrimental to your electric appliances when you charge them...they actually put a note in the room advising this. So just take care. To sum it up the owner is really super friendly and its a beautiful location with lots of wildlife....but you can get a bungalow on the beach with a seaview for half the price than we paid pre booking...so for this reason i would not stay again.
I was recommended Rabbit Bungalows and decided to book in for a short stay. On arrival at The resort we were greeted with a smile by the owner ‘Lek’, who immediately made us feel welcome and gave us a rundown of the resort and other highlights to see and do around the island. The resort is well maintained and surrounded by jungle and a lake full of Lotus Flower with a little boat for use of residents. There is an abundance of wildlife that can be watched from the dining area overlooking the lake where the food served is delicious!
Rabbit Bungalow is situated in nature: very beautiful. Bungalows are simple, but comfortable. Lek is very nice en helpful. We moved to another spot (more luxury) on the island after Rabbit and then found out that it is not worth the money to move from Rabbit Bungalow. I guess one of the best places to stay on the island.
Stayed in a wooden bungalow with my husband for 5 days and enjoyed every minute. From the warm reception handled personally by Lek, to the "off-menu" offer of freshly caught and prepared barracuda and squid, every aspect of this place was charming. The resort is about five years old and, in that time, the owner has created a beautiful garden, frequented by a whole host of hornbills. If you're up early, there is a profusion of pink water Lillie's on the large pond. The nearest beach, Buffalo Bay, is a short walk of about 8 minutes. It's a pretty walk and the beach is magnificent. Just check out tide times if you're wanting to swim. Rabbit bungalow had free WiFi, fan, electricity between 6.00pm and 8.00am, cold showers and a good resident cook. Laundry service and motorbike hire additional extras. Only teeny gripe is the poor quality of coffee which, I think, was "instant" and, considering the availability of fresh decent coffee pretty much anywhere, was a bit surprising. But, all in all, a clean, welcoming and very sweet resort.
i come every year to the same resort, Koh Phayam is great and Rabbit is the best. solo with freinds or family. always very freindly and helpfull staff. also very clean in the room and in the kitchen. many thanks to the owner Lek and the cook First.
Set on a beautiful lake full of wildlife. Close to the beach. Rooms are clean. Owner is very friendly and will take you out to show you sights and help you with anything you need. Excellent place to stay.
I accidentally stayed her but it was incredible 2 night! Staff is awesome service I felt like stay 5 -star hotel. He always helps me and recommended where place I should go in Koh Phayam. The room was okay as you paid. there have hammock outside the room I really love it! I will come back again!
Can't say enough about how pleased we were with our decision to stay at Rabbit Bungalow. Property was well maintained & clean. Our room was charming, the service was great by the owner
This is a charming quiet and peaceful place off Buffaloes Bay on West of Ko Phayam. The Bungalows are well positioned so that they do not overlook each other, and well surrounded by Forrest trees keeping the accommodation cooler during the hot sunny days. Also beside the property is a small lake that attracts lots of bird life such as Kingfishers, Hornbills, and white breasted sea eagles fly overhead. In the morning the flowers of the many lotus flowers open up and give a beautiful show. The staff are very friendly and helpful, with the owner Lek posting on my wife's sunglasses that she had left behind. The food is also very good, with the cook giving daily Thai cooking courses. This will be where we stay if we return to the beautiful island of Ko Phayam.Rabbit Bungalows is very central for getting to all over the island by walking as we did, or by motorcycle hire. A really great place.
